Great news!

And, with all the talk about how BTG has helped raise CBS Daytime overall, maybe they'll or the other networks will get inspired.

BTG got justice for ATWT, maybe it's time for GL, AMC, OLTL, etc. to get some justice as well.

Hmmm. Interesting.  I assume Errol and the rest of the press got it from the official press release here:

Correct.

I did notice a name in the EP list (Tracey Thompson) when I was editing my article earlier and reached out to find what's what. We'll soon find out.

I do know that there have been changes at the writing team, but I can't go into details just yet.

Changes beyond Giddens?!

Wow.  Interesting that Tracey's name is there and Guza's is not. This probably means she's going to get a Co-HW credit as well because she has no production credits.  Tracey wrote for AMC, GH, and Y&R.  Tracey was a secondary Co-HW on Y&R from December 7, 2012 to March 15, 2017.

Presumably not MVJ herself stepping back, though.

Tracey co-created Disney's "The Secrets of Sulphur Springs," which ran for three seasons. She was also an executive producer for 19 of the 26 episodes, alongside Charles Pratt Jr.

Correction: Disney's "The Secrets of Sulphur Springs" had 27 epiosdes. Additionally, Tracey created the show, not co-created.

So this is indeed Tracey Thomson (whom the Paramount release listed as "Thompson") ?

I would assume so. Probably just a spelling error.   She has connections to MVJ (from GH), to JHC (from AMC), and to CBS (from Y&R).

That's a lovely way to put it.

I know, similar to Neighbours, a two-year plan may have been there all along, but it's still good to see them picking up a second year. I hope this is just the start, but with the state of soaps and TV now I'm still just amazed a new soap got on the air.

According I believe to BTG staff themselves (and Tunie, I think), had they not been picked up here they would've stopped in August and only aired til this December. So this is good news, although I wish it had been a full 2-year pickup into '27. But it is a new show.

Thanks. So they really had to work under a cloud. I'm glad they got a chance for more.

I don't think there was ever a chance that this wasn't getting renewed, but with the ratings doing well and helping out the rest of the line up it was a no-brainer.

As for Guza - I kind of assumed he was brought in to help get the show up and running (similar to how they had to bring a soap director out of retirement), but it was never there for the long haul. He's 71 years old, so he's likely mostly enjoying retirement especially as this isn't his passion project.
