Members Faulkner
How awful. And all too familiar. At least he’s at peace because that is a ruthless disease. R.I.P.

Members Contessa Donatella
What a dark day this has turned out to be. Maybe later I will have more meaningful words. Poor Deidre! Dealing already with the loss of Drake. AFAIK she never stopped saying that Wayne was her best friend & now he is gone, too. Condolences to Lynn & to Hank & to Grady. With Aniston, Hayes, Hogestyn & now Northrup, Heaven must have a powerful need for the right hero. DAYS is now going through what GH has been going through the last several years. So you know what that means for soap opera fandom, in general. Edited December 1, 2024 by Contessa Donatella more

Members Bright Eyes
This feels insane. Hogestyn and Northrop both passing away just a little over a month from each other. All the most heartfelt condolences to Lynn Herring and his family. Deidre Hall seemed to be proper good friends with him last I heard, so I know these two huge losses can't be easy to go through. I feel silly relating his death to him just being on DAYS, but it will always be a failure on the show's part that they only saw him as an extension of Marlena in the end. He could have been a great part of the canvas for years beyond his pairing with her, they just had to try. Members Khan
Oh, no. Not Wayne, too. Not when we're still trying to process losing Drake. Damn, this one REALLY hurts. RIP, sir, and my condolences to everyone who knew and loved him.

Members titan1978
What tragic news. That he and his family had been dealing with his illness, which is so cruel to everyone, and now his death. Poor Lynn and their children, it’s so hard to slowly lose someone you love to Alzheimer’s. Wayne was my favorite Roman. Drake grew on me, but Wayne had more layers. Just as important as his relationship with Marlena was his complex one with his brother Bo. What a tough year for Deidre too.

Members carolineg
Obviously, not making this tragedy all about Days but when you think about how Wayne as Roman completely changed Days entire canvas it's really insane. I think we mostly remember how he was wasted in the 90's and the subsequent recast. He was the first Brady cast and they built an entire family around him plus he had the weight of being paired with the show's leading lady. The current show would be almost completely unrecognizable if Wayne failed as Roman. His tenure may have been shorter than most but he left an incredible mark on the show. RIP!
Members te.
That's a good point. Considering other families like the Martin's either got usurped into the Horton clan, disappeared (The Anderson's) or were just flat out villains (DiMera's), I think the fact that the Brady family has been able to survive as a clear main family for over 40 years is a feat.
