Very happy we're circling back to Nicholas' addiction storyline. This is by far the best-working storyline on this soap right now, and I do think it's because if Griffith f**ks this up, he must know the amount of backlash that will come from it, from both viewers and press. Ugh, but not him running into his former dealer just after a meeting. That has got to be such a gut-punch. I pray he is strong enough to not fall back into the out.
Victor does not have a right to know what's going on with Nikki. He thinks it is a one-way street for him to know things that are going on, and yet, he does not extend the same to others in his life. They're really speed-rushing Nikki's illness now, and it feels like that is happening for a multitude of reasons and none of them are worth exploring. Either commit to the story in its entirety, or scrap it.
They are really reaching to try and revisit the Roger Howarth and Michelle Stafford pairing from General Hospital, and it will not work. Nothing about Matt Clark and Phyllis Summers gels. Plus, Phyllis was around during Matt's reign of terror in Genoa City in the 1990s, so she should surely be aware of how dangerously she is teetering on the line of no return. It is beyond stupid. They're only being paired because of the actors' histories and the fact that both characters are so far misaligned from the circles they would normally be associated with. That, to me, does not equate to good storytelling.
