Hey everyone, I'm hope. A little sunburnt but no bug bites that I can see. It only rained in the middle of the night, so good camping had by all. We met some great campers - including a man born in Montreal, emigrated to Israel so he could be part of living Jewish history there, travels all over the world and was in our campsite visiting his daughter who's studying at Ryerson. He makes wooden puzzles (not jigsaw but the challenge kind) and teaches groups of children for fun. He wanted to know if we were interested in what he does, so he entertained the girls for over an hour Saturday afternoon. They loved it! Our tin can stoves cooked everything and no tempers were lost (including mine). All in all one of the best camping experiences I've ever had.

Now I'm back and having to get the kids ready for other camps this weekend.

Saw the Emmy clip (thank you). My thoughts...

1. I don't think TG believed he would win, because he looked blown away. That's the most excited I've seen him about an Emmy since the second one.

2. Yeah, the suit... is it just me or is he trying too hard to prove he isn't one of the 'guys'? Halee, your comment was priceless and dead on (He looked worse last year, though).

3. Did you notice that JE was the only actor he mentioned. One directer, the politically correct comments to 'friend' Jill (that couldn't have gone unnoticed) and the 'writers' including Guza (no friend comment), and then JE - and he responded to the ovation her name received more than anything. He knows who makes him better and isn't afraid to say it.

4. "Partner in Crime". That was cute. I imagine those two are pretty formidable when they get together and want something.

Yeah was that the blue shiny suit, blue tie, blue sun glasses, with the blond spiky hair year? He looked like a Japanese artists' rendering of an American pimp in an anime cartoon! Oh well, express yourself!

Welcome Back Remos glad you had such a good time!

Lady Ashton, you probably knew this, but I just found out Hugo Napier was on All My Children for what seems to be 2 episodes (could be more though, as IMDB sometimes doesn't get things right) as a character named Mike Roy: 27 March 1985 and 4 April 1985. Interestingly enough, Jane Elliot is listed in the episode cast for both those dates. I wonder if HN and JE ever interacted behind the scenes and therefore kind of knew each other before GH. Anyway, I was amused. LOL.

hooked, we are missing you so much!!! Glad you were able to stop in!

bsg, I noticed the crowd cheering too when he said her name. Yeah!

EDIT

Daytime Confidential talking about the Emmy's, GH is discussed around 22:20

Generally they thought it wasn't TG's best year, but nice to see the shout-out to JE (23:39). They also hated the suit.

Bumping the thread.

Yay I'm off today. Boo, no Tracy expected.

Thanks for the info & podcast link Remos. I didn't like that she implied TG probably only thanked JE because he's gotten in trouble for not doing it in the past.

Yeah, that sat in my craw too. But we know differently. Why would he thank GF? He made her better, not vice versa.

Ah, but we know the truth. He didn't thank his leading lady or his co-star. He thanked his "Partner in Crime". That was pretty significant.

    • Shout! TV has now added season 26. Not sure what the reasoning for that was, but maybe it was the one that was ready to go...
    • It's AWFULLY hard to tell.  But out of the (approximately) 16 weeks so far in 2025, Bryton has only had about 12 episodes.  That's significantly less than 1 per week.  Once the actor drops down to less than 1 per week for an extended period of time (such as a 39-week cycle), I start thinking there's no contract in place for him or her.  Surely these folks aren't tying themselves down to a show for a guarantee of 1 or 2 episodes a month.   If I counted right, Bryton has had 21 episodes in the past 24 weeks.  They're either (a) about to kick into high-gear & work his ass off to meet his minimum guaranteed appearances, or else (b) he ain't got a contract that guarantees him squat.
    • These contract guarantees of 1 ep per month are ridiculous. How can you even have a story if your character apprars 4-5 times in a month? It's sad.
    • It's hard to tell with some actors appearing on average 4 times in a month whether they're recurring or just on a low guarantee contract. Someone recurring  like Beth Maitland can be used a lot for several months then disappear. So the monthly tallies aren't enough to go by.
    • Of the so-called "contract" cast members, I'd venture to say these are recurring: Bryton James, Camryn Grimes, and (possibly) Michael Graziadei.  I've suspected since 2018 that Kate Linder and Christian LeBlanc are recurring.  And I believe we all know Miss Ordway is, because she said so. lol.
    • Dante blaming Gio instead of his dweeb son and the other dweeb was just ridiculous. Gio's paternity story is going in circles with no reveal. I've already started fast forwarding Drew and his stupid ho Willow's story. Kristina's story is beyond dumb with no great payoff.
    • Sarah (with the English accent) isn't just some random character.  Sarah was once the housekeeper for Eliot Dorn and Margo Huntington.  One of the following 2 scenarios happened a few months ago: (1):  One night, while Margo wasn't at home, and while Oscar the Doorman wasn't at his post, a burglar sneaked into the private elevator, rode up to the penthouse, stole several thousand dollars worth of Margo's valuable diamonds and pearls, and tied-up Eliot Dorn and Sarah the Housekeeper, ensuring that Eliot and Sarah couldn't pursue the burglar back down to the lobby or phone the police to apprehend the burglar. OR --  (2): Eliot Dorn was SLEEPING with Sarah the Housekeeper, and the two of them conspired to steal Margo's jewelry and went on a lavish spending spree and then tied THEMSELVES up to make it look as though a burglary had occurred in the penthouse. Margo Dorn currently believes Scenario #1 occurred, and she's rather annoyed that the "incompetent police" haven't located her stolen jewels yet.  Eliot and Sarah know that Scenario #2 actually occurred.  When Sarah stopped by the Unicorn and saw Eliot kissing Raven Swift, Sarah snidely said, "Oh! This must be Mrs. Dorn!  Nice to meet you, Mrs. Dorn!" Sarah knew good & damn well Raven isn't "Mrs. Dorn" because Sarah worked for Margo Dorn on a daily basis for many months.  That was Sarah's not-so-subtle way of announcing, "I'll be paying a visit to District Attorney Logan Swift and letting him know that his wife is sleeping with you, and I'll be paying a visit to WMON to let Margo Huntington know that you're sleeping with Mrs. Swift!"  lol.
    • The AMC hate came from Jamey Giddens/DC and their industry friends, IMO. For whatever reason I always felt they targeted the show, and it was wrong. AMC ratings were decent and even went up under Pratt (Yet, he was fired). The ratings were also good under Broderick and lowered out after her interim.  There was no reason to be upset with the show other than it being slow. They literally played it safe and did the best they could in 2010 and 2011.
    • I have very detailed synopses of all 1976 storylines for the soaps from the Daytime Serial Newsletter. Please let me know if you are interested in a particular show and I will post it in the appropriate thread. As I stated they are very detailed, so I don't want to clutter up threads if posters are not interested.
