I don't want her gray or redeemed by way of amnesia. She has to get it back and then go down. She can come in and out for stints like Heather does and like Obrecht should be doing.

I don't think Cody would be a serious thing for Liz, but it could run for a bit. I would sooner bring hot daddy Zander back from the dead since Chad Brannon looks amazing now to stir up more drama, and work up to bringing back a Lucky for the real deal for Liz. If JJ is willing to work a deal as he's sometimes hinted at, great; if not, recast finally.

I wished Heather would've brought up some of the old days with Rick and Lesley and the Webbers and the supposed 'perfect family.' Of course, if Ron had done it (and he would've) it would've been in the most obvious fan service-y way possible vs. an organic discussion. I wish Laura would've made some mention of Heather being a nightmare since those early days with Jeff, how her mother had taken her in, etc.

He doesn't need to be anyone from the past IMO. I would be fine with them saying he's Mac's but not Dominique's, have him recount most of his scurvy ways and focus on being the somewhat duplicitous stable boy and leave it there.

But...story that Liz will have.

Just a lame attempt to have them bond as they gear up (or stall) for the climax of the settlement story. Like Joss now having more and more scenes with Michael out of the blue.

I said that as well. re: potential for Dex. The actor has been selling all that you mentioned, but it is just the getting together with Joss...well, the writing of it...that has let him down.

The anvils of Laura redeeming Esme has been clear since Esme showed up in front of Sprina with no memory. It fell to the wayside for a month, but has been increased greatly over the last month and a half. And now Heather has Laura in her sights for perceived slights, too? It definitely makes sense. All of it now that Esme's reveal of paternity. I'm honestly surprised at the history and tension between all involved and legacy characters at that. And also excited.

I cannot believe they have roped Mayor Laura into gaslighting her own deputy for this goofy 'James Patrick Stuart's awkward recurring retainer' storyline. Anna, Billy Joel Cassadine and Lucy hanging out in Wherever is not as kludged together as the OLTL 2.0 deal I mentioned where most of Todd's convoluted evil cartel story arc happened in one hotel room while they tried to work Roger Howarth around the clock with his limited availability, but it's getting there. I could not give two [!@#$%^&*] about anything happening there and I still wish Valentin would die immediately.

Camryn Grimes is doing absolutely nothing at Y&R. I would try to poach her for GH as Christina Baldwin. Why not? This show needs stronger young female leads and most of these chicks are not cutting it. Speaking of wasted talent, the younger Davis girls have been consistently slept on. I would really give HP a shot at the title as ADA Molly, I love that role for her. If she comes off silly or too young and can't sell a real story then back on the shelf she can go, but why not try? Is it going to cut into time for Willow, Sasha or Cyborg Jordan? Lexi Ainsworth is still beautiful and somehow looks younger than Hailey Pullos now, but Kristina is stale and I can't see a story for her right now though logically I know you can and should write for her. These characters have had nothing to do for years but still feel played out (then again, so much of the cast is played out but in different ways). It's sad.

Did it ever occur to Brooklyn that maybe Chase is hanging around Sasha cause she is supportive of him & his career as a cop? Where else Brook is a unsupportive childish [!@#$%^&*] who only cares about her ridiculous ass music career. This story is trash.

Chase needs to [!@#$%^&*] or get off the pot. If she won't support you wanting to be a cop and not a musician then leave her for good.

    • Roger mostly just had a conscience if it affected him, although there were a few bits here and there. Didn't he look out for Tangie out of loyalty to her parents?  Even at the time I don't know if I could have argued that Roger had been ruined, given that he had raped two women, but there was a complexity in the writing for Roger for most of his return until Laibson/McTavish. He just became a one-note heel. Even worse, I just found Dinah completely unwatchable as Wendy Moniz was incapable of playing a heroine (I know even the best could not have made that material work).
    • Am I the only one who hates how this show treats Claire? She's a glorified extra This girl comes from stock the granddaughter of the shows 2 biggest supercouples and they treat her like she's a throw away. Her pop pop is dying/dead and her other grandpa is saved awoken from his coma, alive because of the selfless heroic actions of her maternal grandpa

There is no reason why she wouldn't be here to say goodbye. Olivia Rose isn't doing anything I bet she love to come back and say goodbye. I just don't understand the motivation & thought process when it comes to some decisions. This show is probably still salty about how they didn't succeed in trying to assassinate Claire, on the alter of her dicktimized bird brained aunt & her serial killer boyfriend/husband with the audience.  Also unless they're keeping it under wraps Sami not being back in time to say goodbye to John is a huge fumble. If it had to do with Ali availability then they should've pushed back the fallout of Johnny learning about his sperm donor raping his mother and the subsequent confrontation with Elvis & Sami to conceded with John's coma & death so Sami/Ali were here for it. It's just a huge piece missing from this. As much I hated Sami's overdramatic looney tunes treatment of John long after she was in her 30s, became a grandma, her & John had one of the best dynamic complex heartbreaking father/daughter relationship's on both daytime and the show. It would be full circle as John's end of watch nears, that Sami apologizes for her treatment of him & admits she does love him. He was just as much as a father to her as "Roman", in a impossible situation that turned everyone lives upside down(The 2 Romans, Roman Intitial Death, The Affair)through no fault of his own. How fitting if she called him dad one last time & how thankful she is for his unconditional support and love. He squeezes her hand one last time, calls her Samantha and finally let's go after hearing the words he spent decades longing for in my eyes
    • So around '84 is when things get bad?
    • There are details through the thread, but yes, as mentioned, she hated Ellen Wheeler, and lambasted her for crying a lot, for her decisions with firing and Peapack, etc. Back in the day she also hated Pam Long, who created Reva and gave Reva all of her best material. The producers or writers she liked most seemed to be those who saw Reva in the most generic of molds, although she likely doesn't see it that way. She was OK on OLTL; I think @Vee could probably give a better summary. She was earthy and added her usual hard work to some trash material. There was nothing special going on, as yet again with patron saint Carlivati it was all plot, no character, and he cared more about writing for a cutesy child character.  You're right about what they could have done with Reva. Reva, Erica, and any women who are in story long enough face this problem. The biggest difference is Reva was allowed to age (even with the post-menopausal baby), which Erica was not.
    • Cali was the only Paulina for me on AW.  Was Judi Evans such a “name” that Cali was fired for her?  Judi basically played an entirely different character.  She could’ve been Nancy!
    • They were great together. Barbara was way too high maintenance for any man. You know Henry divorced her a$$ after about a year.  And, here’s an example of what I was talking about…
    • I watch every day as well, and I am enjoying the show. There's always room for improvement. TBH, things are much different from what I expected reading the character breakdowns. That could be a good thing! I'm willing to let them find their groove and figure out what kind of show it wants to be. The core and underlying theme. -I echo what a few others have said: The show is lacking in real romance and cross-starred lovers. But that tracks from (MVJ) experience cause the bell soaps are not good with romance IMO. -I have a feeling it's being built before our eyes, but we're missing that rival family. -I would prefer more variety of storylines. Good ones that could weave together the whole town.   -I struggle connecting to the male characters. So I hope they get a clear handle on them soon. Most of them feel underwritten and one-note. -Find a better purpose for Naomi. I fear she will be the first Dupree dumped. I completely agree. June's story does nothing for me. And what if she turns out to be Tyrell and Samantha's mom? They are very close to leaving high school. why should I care? If she turns out to be related to Hayley also, what's the long-term story, and why should I care? I believe Hayley can work on her own as a vixen. Does she need a sounding board? Sure, but you can accomplish that with an outsider's friend group. I didn't think I would be saying this, but I would entertain Kat having a forbidden affair with Jacob. Both Naomi and Jacob need something to do other than case-of-the-month storylines.
    • That would really just be a redux of the Leslie/Eva story. I really hope they don't go there. My guess for the storyline with Anita that we have "never seen before on daytime" is that it may be a "me, too" story. Anita did unspeakable things to get ahead because of some disgusting producer, and the other person she left behind was a boyfriend who cared about her very much.
    • Reva and Zimmer needed strong adversaries/scene partners. It would dampen the negatives associated with the character and Zimmer's self-admitted excesses. I think that's why she was a bust on SB. I don't know how she did on her return to OLTL because I was not watching at that point. The problem for me with Reva is the same situation with Erica Kane. It ended up being variations of the same storyline year after year. I think if the show had truly broken up Reva and Josh and put them in other viable relationships it would have freed up the characters to have better storylines and character growth. Instead, it's as if the characters were stuck for decades.
