Who's contracts are up soon? I think Mark Grossman is approaching the end of his, unless he's already renewed.

Yeah, that’s pretty much a slap in the face. They didn’t even do a flashback reenactment of Rey in the crash as Ashland told the story? Maybe they are waiting for a twist (JG loves to “surprise” us with a “twist”) to show that perhaps Rey didn’t die due to the crash. Maybe he was still alive but Ashland really killed him? Either way, odd.

Sharon Case’s great acting would have resonated more if I bought Sharon and Rey as a couple. They actually directed/shot that Sharon/Nick scene reasonably well, even if it was overlit in the modern-day Y&R style.

They should have just ended the scene with Sharon saying “I already know,” then her breaking down, instead of cutting to Victoria/Ashland/Victor/Nikki in the cabin and cutting back to Nick breaking down the gory details of Rey’s death to Sharon. Would have been more impactful.

Ashland is a total fail as a character, but RN is doing a good job. I can’t imagine Richard Burgi playing any of this.

Sharon Case reminded everyone today of why she has managed to endure despite having one of the most consistently poorly written character on the show.
I don't care about Sharon and Rey but I care about Sharon so it worked for me. As skeptical as I am of where this is going: both in terms of Sharon and in terms of that crash story.

As we've said before: Everything happening with this show lately is real strange in terms of a series of major shifts.

He has had his watchable moments—the Elena/Nate affair, some of his early stuff. All short-lived. If he sustains interest for more than a few weeks without totally flatlining again, I’ll be impressed. Having actual villains helps. It’s not rocket science: it shouldn’t have taken him this long to bring on darker characters to shake things up a bit, but at least it’s happening.

The dialogue in these Newman family scenes a few days ago is incredibly vague, bland and nondescript. "I thought Ashland left peacefully!" "I think [whoever wrecked this painting] was in a lot of pain." "Vic is a strong, proud woman." "What could have made her do this?" It's like they're talking about an acquaintance. There is no character to these characters, just expository detail.

    • Yes! I actually started typing something up the other day but ended up not posting. It pretty much said something to the effect of the show feeling like there were a lot of balls in the air, the stories almost felt aimless. I am sure most of these will come to a head soon enough. I also wondered if it had something to do with the changes behind the scenes, but these lulls between major moments truly kill the momentum.
    • Will concede it's moving along slowly, but I am still hinged on every word every second. I refuse to miss anything.  OTOH, I watch GH were things are moving along  little quicker, but I have to FF certain scenes because it's extremely repetitive, where I don't get that from BTG.
    • I am toggling between Apr ‘82 Kay and Nikki, and Aug ‘92 Kay and Nikki… and it is a jarring juxtaposition! Nikki has calcified into a Stepford Wife

    • I've watched the show faithfully since the premiere, but I've found that I've let myself fall behind the past few weeks. It sort of feels like nothing is happening again. Does anyone else feel the same way? I would think for November sweeps they'd be pulling out all the stops.
    • I didn't even watch but saw the recap. I can't believe Billy Flynn has been saddled with all of this. He so deserved better.
    • Vernon was spotted by the worst person possible. Leslie is definitely going to use that to her advantage somehow.
    • Yesss! I cackled when Dr. Walked told Leslie to Google him (check my credentials). What is Elon's issue with Izaiah again? Considering we are supposed to believe that Izaiah was some troubled youth, why wouldn't Elon be gald his son has seemed to mature and has job at a great school. I get that family wounds and patterns can run deep, and somehow Joey was a paternal figure to Izaiah but Izaiah's troubles seem behind him.

    • Yeah. I wasn't feeling it either. If it was meant to be a chem test, it didn't work. I don't think so. Because I think Neil and Liz moved into that house after Stefano "died", and Neil lived there until he went to go see his patients and never came back

    • Canada aired a repeat today Tues. Nov. 18. So after being a day ahead for the past week, they will now be back in sync with U.S.
