Interesting.  ED never looked old enough to be James Scott's mom as Kristen or Susan.  I am not sure why anyone would take credit for the racecar driving stuff.  That was.......odd with multiple characters being into Nascar briefly lol.

I think the most jarring part about Belle/Brady is that they jumped so much in age so quickly.  I get Deidre/Drake were a bit older but they sort of stayed in that 40 ish age range for years.  I think if they aged Belle/Brady to 10-12 years around the wedding then waited 4-6 months and made them teens it would have been okay, but Belle was played by like 5 year olds at the wedding then went to Kirsten Storms during Jarlena's honeymoon while John/Marlena had a TON of story.  It's not like they needed an aged Belle to add to their full plate.  Honestly, same with Shawn D.   Bo/Hope had a ton going on as well, but he mostly aged in real time so it was okay.

Also in theory Belle/Brady were only initially aged about 10 years.  Recasts, Claire, and storyline aged them about another 10.   I don't think it would be weird if both Shawn/Belle were approaching 40 at this point, but they are closer to 50 with Claire.

Ron's devil is lame. It's just another alter.

Steve and Kristen need to bump into each other one night at the Cheatin' Heart. Steve/Kayla both. They're empty nesters and you know drunk Kayla would be down to get down.

Stephen and Stacy have chemistry.

And that's a problem in itself. Not to mention EJ raped Sami. In the case of Kristen/Brady, it isn't the SORAS issue it's the fact that she was his step mom when he was younger. Sure, they can age to character but to outright ignore that she was around when he was growing up while still playing the beats of her obsession with John just isn't good writing by any of the writers or producers who allowed that plot. For soaps to survive in this current era of nearly 600 scripted series clawing for viewer attention they need to give some realism of sorts so that they can justify why they need 2.5 to 5 hours of a viewer's time. Just my opinion.

Ron's stories always include someone obviously acting out of character, a character then stumbling across the truth, followed by a very thin plot point of someone being kidnapped, held hostage, or blackmailed; which delays the truth from being revealed. It gets dragged out (scenes start becoming repetitive), and whoever is responsible for keeping said bombshell suffers little or no consequences. Rinse, wash, and repeat, and there are no long term or lasting effects.

I agree with that.

I think it applies to Sami/EJ as well since EJ was John's "son" in '97 (EJ = John Jr.) and Sami's his stepdaughter. Sami gave him grandkids with the guy who used to be his kid. That with the SORAS and the rape always made Sami/EJ weird to me.

Unfortunately Days is weird with ages and pairings so it is what it is.

Accurate.

The Cheatin' Heart was used pretty prominently up until 2011. Then it morphed into Sonny's coffee house (Common Grounds???), which was "remodeled" into Club TBD (stupidest name ever, which is saying something), which later became Doug's Place 2.0 and then Julie's Place. They completely swapped out the set when it turned into Club TBD, though.

Summer died off screen at some point in the last year when Suzanne Rogers was off screen. She had cirrhosis I think. I can't remember if Summer's condition is how they explained Maggie leaving for a while, but when she came back in the fall she said that Summer had died. No loss, lol.

    • Definitely wouldn't trust Dinah right now haha.  But that's great to know Billy comes back soon!  I'm excited for that. If he's at the boardinghouse, then I guess he does get closer to Nola perhaps, and then he'll be around Peter/Bridget and J, who is currently in his orbit along with Michelle and Dahlia, and Marcus is at the boardinghouse, so maybe they go the teenage story route most of this time until Billy gets back.
    • Sounds like me, but I prefer to be referred to as Contessa. We all know I can go a long time not paying attention to certain things.  And, if I might add, hey there dude, you effed up pretty good this time and I think this was your last chance. So don't let the door hit you in your behind as you go BYE MOMMY!
    • That did cross my mind at first, but I'd be more inclined to believe it if this didn't involve Trump. I'm not at all sure he is capable of being that sneaky. Of course, there's always a possibility I guess that his advisors are doing it without telling him, but that seems awfully risky. Trump is such a loose cannon you can never predict what he's going to do or say.
    • Whoa. She should have fought like hell to get that. Was it the greatest show ever? No, but it had a fantastic cast and was practically guaranteed to last multiple seasons because of its star power. Could have certainly led to bigger and better things. If it had flopped she could have always gone back to soaps. Judith Light broke through on a sitcom where she was basically second banana to Tony Danza. That grew into a very busy and distinguished career. The woman is still regularly booked to this day.
    • I could understand her being frustrated by the fact that she'd been in the business 10+ years at that point, and probably couldn't even get in the door. But then again, she'd already gone out for pilot season once (that we know of) and she and  her agent knew a 35-ish woman had a very difficult time in Hollywood. I know she did a few guest spots, but other than Designing Women, nothing I saw--not even a Murder She Wrote, and that show had tons of ex-soapers on it. I mean, God bless Marilu Henner, but even having been on Taxi, she couldn't get arrested for years either.
    • I didn't rewatch that period, so I'm not really sure how much Bill is on. I recall something about him living at the boardinghouse. I think Van made Matt his guardian, and why she didn't name Josh would be a mystery to me, other than the HW decided they needed to keep Bill in Matt's sphere. Nola is also his aunt, although they don't know each other well, and Van wouldn't have trusted her anyway. There's Dinah---but she's unreliable. Billy gets out of jail around NYE.

    • That's on Kimmer. As someone posted above...she was offered roles in pilots but she would be part of an ensemble or supporting. She didn't want that so she came back to GL. I don't know what she thought would happen..someone offering her "Here's Kimmer!" or The "Zimmer Comedy Powerhouse Hour" variety show..but her housefrau fans did not have the same pull in HW as they did on the soaps. Forbes and Watros knew that you had to take small parts to get noticed ands start a career in primetime. I know she was in consideration for the wife in Evening Shade, but when you go up against Marilou Henner, the soap diva looses. I could see her frustrated in a role like that, where she has to be the understanding wife with a bit of sass, but she could have made it work, if it wasnt for her huge ego.  I think it would have been an issue haveing all the powerhouse comedy actors surrounding...(lets face it..Alice Ghostly woudl have wiped the floor with her...) but it would have been a good launching padd.
    • Oh good, so I don't have to wait too long haha. I'm glad she cares about seeing Bill graduate. I'm guessing I'm in for a bumpy ride between Bill and Matt, if he's going to be his caretaker? Who else could it be, maybe Josh?
