It does feel interesting to me that he has been on the scene since MAY and besides the scenes establishing who he was he has had literally zero story of his own.
They have screen-tested him with several actresses but the more salient point is that they have actually not pulled the trigger on any of them despite having plenty of opportunity.
And besides his supporting role in the Leo story, that could have easily been any of the medical characters, they have actually not used him to drive or advance story at all.
We see him and he exists but he is not even a supporting player. He is at Spinelli-level in terms of story importance.

It is interesting because if they really wanted to push him on us, that's not how to do it. It seems to me that using him so little is either them realizing they have to move cautiously because the very idea of RH on a third role is so poorly received or them recognizing it is not working at all. They are giving a cushy job to RH where he shows up but doesn't have to do anything of value but they are not, all things considered, shoving him down our throats.
I know how I expected this to go when he showed up and how much Franco was used and overused and actually oversold, and I am actually relieved here

All of which shows he is not needed on this show. Britt certainly doesn't need him, nor does Maxie.  Let the character go and bring Lucas back....  It's that simple.

Oh at first they were forcing RH in several directions, and it was bordering on disaster.  I think they have had to adjust because it isn’t working.  They made his family tie a dead end when we should have gotten Jimmy Lee (even just a few eps here and there) to at least try to make Austin into an actual character instead of what he is- RH wandering around.  This whole idea is a huge flop, they can’t even seem to find a spot for him at all.

Poor Genie is having to sell that Luke is actually dead.  When you watch GH the decisions just do not add up, which makes it hard to invest.

Funny how it’s like half of the show (Sonny/Carly/Nina, the teens, etc.) is must see TV, while the other half (Marshall, Austin/Britt) is pure ff material

I have a feeling that whatever the whole secret is, it won't be worth these repetitive long painful scenes.  And Curtis is too pretty to be so damn boring.  His love scene was coma inducing.

Somebody compared Portia and Curtis to Millow, and I can't help to agree. Honestly they got boring once they removed any and all obstacles for this pairing(Jordan, Taggart, Stella, heck even Trina).

I love how the stuff about Curtis being Trina's dad and Stella not mailing out the divorce papers got dropped. Instead we get this horrendous Marshall story. Who was asking for this?

I'm also salty that the Jeff Webber story got dropped but we get Curtis's boring daddy instead.

Very much same. We are beyond the point of “needing” decent people to like Sonny to absolve him and show him as a good character, but in the early days it often felt like that was what Laura did (along of course with Robin). Always hated it.

Portia and Curtis are both gorgeous but super boring together. There’s no angst to their romance and definitely no passion.

Who would people pair Portia with? They haven’t really given her that many scenes with men other than Curtis, Taggart, and Finn/Austin (ugh).

Curtis always seemed to spark with Nina, but they wouldn’t go there for the near future.

    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
    • Luna parachutes herself into Llanview at the end of September 15th 1991.
    • That lengthy flashback does make me wonder if she threw out a lot, but I agree it may have been too easy an urban legend. Would these have been her very first episodes? I imagine you could feel the big difference when Bobbie arrived, alongside the Quartermaines filing in, the return of Heather, and Lesley/Rick/Monica/Alan heating up. It does remind me that there must have been some dud moments in the 60-minute format we just don't see because little of the period is available in full.  I wonder how much longer the Dantes lasted under Marland.  David Hamilton is so disgusting. I appreciate the show making him disgust as some shows when they have stories about older men or women manipulating teens aren't as honest.  I can't see this Rick being friends with him. Chris Robinson's Rick, on the other hand, I could believe.
