Peacock Orders DAYS Spinoff: Beyond Salem

I'm not gonna do the 'poor Stacy' routine. LOL. It's a business. ED is a bigger name. Period. It is what it is. I'm sure she gets it. Not every situation is a Sabine Singh thing. People (mostly social media) need to calm down. If we can have two Abby's we can have two Kristen's. I'm good with either.

On Monday July 19, Stacy Haiduk and Eric Martsolf each/both posted in their instagram stories that Finley Rose Slater is the recast Rachel Black. If they filmed that day, then Haiduk will appear as whatever character(s) in that episode which will air in November or December.

Beyond Salem began filming on Monday July 26.

No it's really not John. I get people like who they like but no, not every situation is a Sabine Singh thing.

Why are people speaking for Stacy? Do any of us have any idea her feelings on this?

I mean be outraged. They're both Kristen to me. It is what it is. It's a business.

Im not bringing up Greenlee

My Point is Days has Stacy playing Kristen on their show on NBC and she filmed there the week before Beyond Salem filmed

However they use ED as Kristen when Stacy is right there in the same studio

That is shady

Sabine was fired and then ads were run telling people to be happy she was fired because the real actress in the role was back.

We have not heard anything about Stacey Haiduk being let go from the main show. If Eileen is playing her just in the limited series, then I don't see it as a slight.

Even if she has been let go, I don't think anything here can top the crassness of that ad campaign.

If you look at the promo again, at the very end there is a still of Eileen dressed as Sister Mary Moira, but she also has the teeth.  And in the part of the promo where Eileen is dressed in red, she is adjusting her hair, so is the RedDressCharacter Kristen or someone in Kristen disguise?  I have no idea what's going on except to observe that there's more going on.

It's a byproduct of how insular and meaningless soaps have become - scrambling over smaller and smaller sources of food.

I guess I should be happy Twitter outrage has moved on from reminding us which actor is fat and how terrible that is.

    • It really is ridiculous how happy episodes from 40 years ago make me. God, MKA is so young!
    • Holy sh.it. THAT was a damn soap opera. I’m at a loss for words for how good that was.
    • A private elevator penthouse with a spiral staircase to the primary suite.  Sign me up! The only deficit was that various riff-raffs seemed to have easy access to the elevator.

    • Same here.  Anyone who voluntarily left Margo's penthouse set (except to go overseas or to Heaven) was immediately on my blacklist.  lol.

    • The penthouse was my favorite set... and it changed hands from Margo to Draper/April to Miles/Nicole then to just Miles... before he opted to give that beautiful place for that drab house with the even more drab Beth.  That was a jump the shark moment for me LOL
    • The storyline April and Draper are involved in during the summer/autumn of 1979 seems fairly "benign" but soon turns very serious.  April has a VERY intrusive, wealthy mother (Margo Huntington Dorn).  Margo knows that April and Draper (who've recently had a miscarriage and are theoretically never going to be able to conceive another baby) want to buy a house.  Margo hoodwinks them into buying a house they can't afford.  The house is listed at $100,000 (about $400,000 in today's dollars).  Margo pays the first $35,000 and leads Draper to believe the asking price of the house is $65,000 instead of $100,000.  If Draper finds out his meddling mother-in-law paid 1/3 of the cost of the home and tricked him, he'll be mad as hell.   Meanwhile, Draper has received a job offer from a prestigious New York law firm.  Margo pulls some strings and has the senior partner in the firm rescind the offer, to keep April in Monticello.  If Draper finds out about THAT, he'll be even angrier with Margo than he will be about the house trickery.  All of that is "bubbling under the surface" in the fall of 1979 but will be the next major story, as everything begins to spiral out of control.   Yep, you've got the Karrs and their very basic middle-class house, the Victorian-themed place where Miles and Nicole live, April and Draper's old craftsman house with the exposed beams, the Madisons & their Mission revival house, and Margo with her 1970s-chic penthouse.  Each of the sets is completely different.  And their budget was like zero, lol.
    • It felt weird and out of place.  I get it. While I agree with those on here that say he's gotten better, it's still really bad. I'm not seeing the "good" acting some see...but I'll give him a B for being better than when he first started. There's potential. I'll leave it at that.
    • It's like watching paint dry at a slow-ass pace. It's bad acting. Entirely. Excellent? With Claybon? Never. Ever.
