Reposting in the correct thread:

It’s almost weird to see Victor with Abby, but he’s pretty much the only Newman she’s had contact with over the past few months. Weird that they’ve struggled to find things for her to do, yet have kept her isolated from her families, who are both embroiled in story. What a waste of an Abbott/Newman.

LOL I keep noticing that all Harrison is being fed is candy, brownies, cookies, and now cupcakes. No doubt Harrison will have a childhood obesity issue in a few years like those kids from that movie War of the Roses did. I wonder if Harrison’s nickname will be “Fat Abbott”?

Phyllis needs to take several seats. Tired of her carrying on about “my dawter”  How dare she question Jack? When she found out Daniel had a love child she went and found the baby even when Daniel had no interest. At least Cryle is stepping up for his kid.

Fat abbott! Remember when Victor used to say Jackass Abbott?

I don’t care about Abby’s baby at all. Sick of Mariah wasted as a preggo.

There were also several scenes explaining how much he loves Mac & Cheese.

Edit: It would actually be an interesting storyline if his parents plied him with sweets to spoil him to make up for the lack of a stable father figure and then argued over who is to blame for his health issues later. So of course that will never happen.

I've watched a few episodes of Y&R this week after seeing some scenes from 1999...

Good lord this show is dead. Nothing happens and there is no character motivation in anything. No intensity, no energy, 90% wide shots and few closeups, and most glaringly of all: no music.

This show is so incredibly lifeless. Comparing episodes from 1998/99/00 to now are just shocking.

The irony is that the episodes that are 20+ years old seem far more modern and like prime time television than what's airing now which resembles ATWT in the 60s.

None of GH, B&B or DAYS are this dull - I've seen them all this week and Y&R stands out in how boring it is by a country mile.

 YES!

The only story with any momentum is the Kyle/Tara saga. This is a classic soap story but Josh is not playing all the necessary beats and characters are being twisted to fit the plot.

Summer is being made to look an idiot when by going along with Tara's threats instead of exposing her.

If Tara had been a little more subtle then Summer wouldn't have the ammo to go to Kyle/Jack/Phyllis etc

Everyone else just plays scenes that may or may not have any long term consequences.

The costuming is atrocious for some of the women. Nikki is put in overly tight dresses that do not flatter, Lauren looks like a hooker, Tara in pale plain silky fabrics that wash her out, Nina in that hideous green dress etc

The lighting is harsh and the set decoration super cheap.Every time I see that clunky sofa in the Chancellor living room I cringe.

I could go on...

    • I skipped most of Daniel too. I think it's awful he has kids with Nicole, Csrky5 and Chloe and Brady, Bo and Philip do not.

    • Today was very focused on Bo and his illness.  I’m liking how everything is ultimately tied together, even though everybody doesn’t know it yet. The EJ connection seems a little sudden and random though. I’m guessing that that was not on Ron’s agenda. And I’m not really sure why any of these rich people couldn’t help the hospital months ago lol  But I really like how the whole sepsis drug thing is being written a lot more realistically than what we’ve grown accustomed to with Dr. Rolf and all of his wonder drugs. They’re definitely putting more of an effort into this storyline. It feels more real.  Philip was a little whiny and self-pitying today, but I also feel like the writing has improved for him as well. He’s coming off less like a villain and more like a tragic hero. I enjoyed his scene with Stephanie and hopefully it means that at some point, we’ll get a revival of Philip/ Stephanie/Alex. Tying it to Stephanie’s novel could be really good. And, the dorkiness of Xander and Sarah was really sweet too. I’m looking forward to their weekend together and what secrets may or may not come out lol
    • "And I also want to flirt with every woman that comes my way... but then beat up anyone who talks to my wife. BECAUSE I'M A MAAAAAAAAAAAN." Give me a break with your ugly baby paintings... You're in the same category of the hacks that sell paintings with a single dot for thousands or even millions of dollars.

    • I have to check out his Bela Garody on Search for tomorrow. He was one of the main reasons EON worked for me when I was watching. Truly unforgettable presence. Handsome in the most perverse and sinister way. They don't make faces like that anymore.
    • My favorite moment in SOAPDISH is the HW taking the star to the mall in NJ to improve "morale"!!
    • Oh no! The shoulder pads! I will mourn them when they're gone. Please tell me the head pieces and hats remained!?
    • Shout! TV has now added season 26. Not sure what the reasoning for that was, but maybe it was the one that was ready to go...
    • It's AWFULLY hard to tell.  But out of the (approximately) 16 weeks so far in 2025, Bryton has only had about 12 episodes.  That's significantly less than 1 per week.  Once the actor drops down to less than 1 per week for an extended period of time (such as a 39-week cycle), I start thinking there's no contract in place for him or her.  Surely these folks aren't tying themselves down to a show for a guarantee of 1 or 2 episodes a month.   If I counted right, Bryton has had 21 episodes in the past 24 weeks.  They're either (a) about to kick into high-gear & work his ass off to meet his minimum guaranteed appearances, or else (b) he ain't got a contract that guarantees him squat.
