I really that Roger Howarth had been able to stay Todd, he was just better without bending hell and heaven to make him viable. Speaking of OLTL, I'm still annoyed by the dropped Alcazar/Tomas story.

Sn: Why is Lila Rae not on the canvas as a rival for Molly?

I will never care about him or their efforts to force him onto the canvas and make him viable. He's not. The more a show force feeds me someone, the more I resist. He's got a brain tumor!!!! He was molested!!!! (was he? I'm not keeping up). FEEL SORRY FOR HIM!!!! LIZ DOES! SO YOU SHOULD TOO! HE'S SCOTT'S SON NOW!!! YOU CARE ABOUT HIM SO YOU SHOULD CARE ABOUT FRANCO!! CARE ABOUT FRANCO NOW!!!

UGH

So many casuals just lap that [!@#$%^&*] right up.

I feel like I've made the right choice to stop watching GH. I haven't watched since the Faison story wrapped up. I'm not even following what happens that closely.

Are they still trying to force asexual, chemistry-free Kim and Julian? Julian ... another one they've worked overtime to force onto the canvas. I'm so disgusted the show listens to the rabid Julexis fanbase. Frank's interview is so hypocritical.

+1

I'd be fine if he were playing Todd. Franco is just Todd-lite (Howarth plays him that way) and someone they've worked beyond overtime to force onto the canvas.

When something doesn't work, you admit it, let him go, and move on. But not Frank. It's like he tells them to try even harder to make viewers care for him and feel sorry for him and accept him. It's so blatant.

I think that's the whole problem with the show in a nutshell.  The writers aren't terrible but they're being forced to feature the characters viewers would rather not see and either placing the characters viewers do care to see on an infrequent recurring basis or firing beloved actors altogether.  This does not bode well for the show's future.

This is what happens when no one in charge listens to viewers who care.

Yep. I actually don't think the writers are awful. Not saying they're spectacular, but I think if they could do their own thing it wouldn't be the worst show. I liked some of the ideas they had a few months ago. Something went off the rails around the Faison story wrapping up (and Genie suddenly exiting in the middle of the mayor story). I was kind of liking the show up until then.

Interesting how Frank tries to say some things aren't his decision. So who's are they? Who dumped Genie and Kin? I truly believe he believes what he says, but he's so full of it ... no, Frank, if you TRULY cared about GH you wouldn't fill it with your friends from other shows and get rid of veterans that matter to the fans of the show. That interview, the lunch with Genie and how she spoke out all reeks of damage control for Frank.

    • Yes, of course, all of those servants added to the overall picture at AW & also people had relationships with those servants! I like it when Anita asks after one of the servants at the club, how their children are doing & like that.
    • Great scenes between Marlena and EJ today. Paula and Jeanne are making EJ have more depth than Ron had during his long drawn out tenure.
    • Might as well say it, Minority opinion, granted, but I like Joss & I'm okay with this WSB story & i hope that Emma will be their next recruit & she & Joss can be partners.
    • Thanks again @Paul Raven  The Arlene/Ben/Betsy triangle is one I wish I could see for myself as on paper it doesn't tend to excite me but I can see how well-constructed it was. I wish I could see the Rick/Meg relationship too, although I wish they'd had him genuinely fall for Meg after he gets together with Cal. The whole Brooke/Deacon/Bridget story on B&B was horribly damaging to Brooke as a character but it was dramatically very sound because I could completely believe Deacon would fall for messy and vulnerable Brooke after finally settling down with the more docile Bridget.

    • According to the head writer list, it seems the show may have started to fall apart while either the Schneiders or Upton were writing.  And when it started to crumble, it crumbled fast.  It was sad to see everything Labine had brought to LOL be disassembled.

Welcome back!!! And I see Abe and Paulina got a new apartment too, which is just a redress of John/Marlena’s, Steve/Kayla’s, etc. But it looks kinda nice. And I enjoyed his scenes with Chanel. It added another perspective to everything that’s been going on with her and Johnny. And Abe using his own history with Lexie to comfort Chanel was a good idea. Plus, it also provided us with more suspicion/red herring about Johnny possibly shooting EJ. I’m looking forward to see what happens between her and Johnny. And I’m so glad that the two of them are on the frontburner now.  Speaking of Johnny, I still have no problem with him going to work for Titan. The drama could be so good, especially once EJ finds out. To me, it seems like another realistic reaction to everything that’s been happening to Johnny lately. It doesn’t seem random and over the top either. And I like that they remembered to have Johnny tell Xander that he has no corporate experience whatsoever. Surprisingly, the two of them work well together. And so do Carson and Deidre. I love how the Marlena/Johnny relationship has been featured so much.  Kayla was still strong and kicking ass today too. The writer change has helped her/Mary Beth so much. But I do admit we should’ve seen Steve trying to get into Dr. Russell’s lab rather than Kayla instructing him over the phone.  And unfortunately, Chad and Cat still don’t seem to be doing much for me though. The cliffhanger was ok too.   Btw, Days was trending at #4 this morning on Peacock
