The whole "Well Dylan's brother writes about her" response is a bit silly to me as everyone knows that connection is close. The connection of this Daphne woman and Allen is not as apparent, even when briefly mentioned in her article.

Vulture is one of those pseudo-"woke" sites that usually reads like a self-parody. They have articles going grr grr at random white men for not understanding about Maya Rudolph needing to get her hair done while she was on SNL, yet they have things like this and like that Wonder Woman review a year or two ago. I guess they just jump on the social justice bandwagon when it's easy and the rest of the time they just go for a clickbait mess.

Look, I think Woody and Mia are two, very damaged individuals; and I think their damage has undoubtedly shaped the lives of their children, both biological and adopted.  You don't have to know what happened on that day in August, 1992, to see it.

I just think it's telling how so many are outraged -- outraged, I say! -- over Woody's marrying his stepdaughter and (allegedly) molesting his other daughter -- but hardly anyone batted an eye when the African-American community complained about the lack of AA actors in his movies, or the stereotypical roles for the ones he does employ.  (I, myself, have counted only two actresses of color in Woody's movies.  One played a maid, the other a whore.)

IMO, there's a double standard: It's OK to give the alleged victims a voice, but it's not OK to let the alleged perpetrators defend themselves.

Ronan Farrow called the article a hit job--  what about the articles against Woody? Aren't those a hit job as well?

This is what happens when two (three if you count this 'Rain Dove') narcissists obsessed with fame and power co-opt the #MeToo movement. Can't they think of the real victims here? Us!

Which articles in particular?

The main issue with this article is that is only vaguely lets readers know just how tied the author is to Woody Allen and it also claims to be about Soon Yi's voice, yet Allen is clearly heavily involved. There's also using mostly one of the dead children as evidence of Soon Yi's claims.

These articles also seem to just focus on how terrible Mia is, rather than having anything good to say about Woody.

Well, yes. I admit, I do find molesting one's six (?) year old child much more outrageous than not having a diverse cast in your movies. That goes for grooming your wife's daughter as well (Soon Yi was never his step daughter, I'll give him that). One makes you a criminal, one makes you a creep and the other makes you a racist jerk. They are not the same in degrees of harm.

The waters are muddy enough that we will never really know what happened.   Woody was in therapy because he had an inappropriate fascination with Dylan's body,  that's pretty sick.  The judge in the case though Dylan was not safe with Woody. Those are things we seem to know for sure.

What I don't understand is why Woody and Soon Yi dredged this up again? Nothing Mia did changes what Woody did (or didn't do). It seems like a deflection, but to what end? It's not like Woody has been sidelined in any real way and needs a comeback.

Also, f*ck Shawn Penn.

You are absolutely right, racism and pedophilia are not the same in degrees of harm.  I apologize if that's how my statement came across.

To the shock and amazement of absolutely no one.

If only she were out at BB, too.

That wouldn't surprise me.  Woody's career was already in crisis before the movement began.  Aside from "Moonlight in Paris," his movies haven't performed well at box offices in a very long time.  #MeToo only exacerbates the issue.

    • I think Evie came in mid 1976 after Rita broke up with Tim because she realized she was leading him on.  And Evie became upset with Rita because she didn't tell her that she had previously dated Tim before she came to town.
    • Please stop, you were wrong, and you know it, now you're trying to back pedal. You even got called out by the DAYS actors/actresses on Twitter for that sh*t. It was disgusting and vile and IMO the family should have taken action against you It was clear the general public did not know about his illness and it was NOT your place to "spill the beans" just because you run a Facebook group, period! TBH IMO @Errol should have banned you ages ago Donna
    • Who went bowling? JFP & Anna? Is there any more to this?
    • Another character driven show with interconnecting plots that make sense. I like that we go from one character, like Sarah, learning that EJ wants to buy the hospital, casually mentioning it to Xander who now has that intel. The only down today was not seeing Steve and Shawn breaking into the lab. I wonder if Dr Poofy Hair will inform EJ about Xander's call. I loved Abe talking to Chanel about losing Isaac and giving her comfort. And helping her voice her fears about Johnny. Kayla standing up to EJ is great. Kayla, freed from Ron, has been great. I am loving all her air time. And Sarah telling her that EJ must be up to something if he wants the hospital is very smart. She would probably clue in to the sepsis research being the big thing if she wasn't choking to death. I assume Felicity messed up the scones and dropped in cleaning fluid or something. Sarah said it tasted weird. They are never getting that honeymoon, are they? Xander has no clue what job Johnny can do. Johnny knows this too. Xander wants to legitimize his takeover by hiring a Dimera. Johnny wants to stick it to EJ. The honesty is refreshing. I want to like Cat and Chad but they are just so awkward. And none of their scenes work for me. Marlena and EJ was very good. I like her wanting to help him but also scared to death for Belle. Makes perfect sense that she is conflicted. I also liked her softly asking Johnny if he needed her to stay once EJ walked in. Ron never cared about this relationship either, but now she is acting like his granny.
    • Sorry, catching up, and the bolded part, yes! Should have been sued by DH's family for that nasty sh*t too   Anywho, back to the show, Kristina is freaking nuts, she needs to be committed ASAP
    • Angry Dante was hot; sorry, but I'm not going to pretend it wasn't awesome seeing Dominic Zamprogna act his ass off in a way that was not crying.
    • Thanks, interesting and so believable (no Lonatrat or Clones...)Instead of the Lewis family he should have made the Oil family Granger...even if the audience didn't remember that one off character it would have been interesting to tie it into the fictional GL world.
    • Dante needs stick removed from his butt
    • When you bring up what I like to call "Shapiro's Folly" you think Dano's acting choices mattered? I ask because I don't think so. As far as I could tell almost universally the ABC fans hated the very idea of her being on all 4 shows! And, BTW, the headwriters also hated it, at least according to comments made by Passanante. But, it is not hard to imagine that they'd feel that way. And, I agreed. If she wanted success she should have planted "Rae" on one & given up her idea of branding, or whatever it was that she was after.
