So I finally think this epi I won't cry. Everyone has stepped up their game. Now looking fwd what I want to see happen sooner rather than later: 1. Sharon finally gets caught and has to get readmitted for proper treatment. Sully finally is given to his real parents!  2. Jill needs to be told to shut up and cut the umbilical cord!  3. Let Billy and Phyllis, Victoria & hottie, Nick & Sharon, Dylan & Chelsea be long term couples.

Sorry for gushing about the production values again, but the new mid-show title segments look great.  I think Mal is doing all he can but there HAS to be a writing change.  Today's show wasn't bad, I actually tolerated Billy and Phyllis.  Travis is a great add, but he needs to get away from Victoria.  Pair him up with Chlesea on a trial basis cuz she and Nick have no chem whatsoever.

I didn't understand why Dylan wasn't at the memorial or why Sharon was hanging out with the Baldwin boys.  Michael was by her side in that dumbass Austin murder story but not much since.  It just seemed odd.

I wasn't feeling MCE today either.

MCE was GREAT today. That was a powerful, moving performance that was real and not overly theatrical. Just superb work.

Mal's work has been incredible, and I'm in awe of how good the show looks and sounds. He's made a thousand little changes, and they all matter.

The writing is much better -- more layered, more character-driven -- and anyone still bitching about Pratt has to admit this is a DIFFERENT Pratt they're bitching about.

Travis is GREAT with Victoria. This is the first time Amelia Heinle has had chemistry with a romantic partner since Billy Miller. Pair Travis with Chelsea? Huh???

I'm not ready to pass judgment on a Nick and Chelsea pairing. We haven't seen enough to know if there's chemistry.

Obviously, we have much different opinions of the show.  And that's ok.  It's what makes the world go 'round.

However, whatever marginal improvement there's been to the writing, the stories all originated prior to Mal's promotion.  The basis of them are sloppy, plot driven crap.  And I think I've called out some of the more character driven scripts, like the time that was spent a few weeks ago with Abby and her miscarriage.  I know that if JFP were still around, those scenes would have never happened.  We still have the nonsensical Sully story to play out, the affair (and I did say I didn't mind them as much yessidy) and the mess with Adam's death.  So no, I don't feel the writing is "much better".

Mal has done wonders, that we agree on.

BTW, I will say Travis has been the best thing to happen to Victoria in awhile.  But I'd still like to see him chem tested with others.  And I see the reasoning behind Nick and Chelsea, but they are as dull as dishwater.  It was a suggestion on my part, nothing more.

Overall, I like MCE, but that memorial speech was far from her best work.  Far.

Love that Jill is back on canvas but the ending was alot of scenery chewing and gasping. It wasn't good, although I'm sure she's having a heart attack or whatever, it was way over the top.  And why are they writing Paul as such a complete yelling a-hole?    It's been going on for months.  Don't care for the character anymore.  Crotchety old man, just like Victor.  The scenes and yelling with Dullan are painful....and it's just another story - yet same story, another day, with Paul yelling and asking WHY one one of his people wants to continue an investigation.  This latest one was a head scratcher because if Victor could be involved....why would Paul stop an investigation that could implicate Mr. Breathy Mumbles?  When he's been wrong a few times when his people keep working on their own and prove him wrong...?

Call her out for WHAT??? She isn't dating Nick. She's not showing any interest in Nick at this point. Calling her out???

Agree with you about the scenery chewing with Jill, but I liked it anyway. I'll take it.

Same with Paul. I'm also in agreement that his stopping investigations is tired, but I still liked his scene with Dylan, and this story has made Dylan relevant.

i thought today's show (Friday) was excellent. Lots of drama, lots of energy, lots happening, and everything looking great.

So when Chelsea hooks up with Nick, like Sharon, she'll have bagged both of Victor's sons and both of Nikki's sons. Sharon still wins because of Victor and Jack (Nick's stepfather). I pray MCE isn't subjected to that disgusting fate! I fully expect some twisted writer down the line will decide that Sharon should bed Paul and possibly Ian (Mariah's whatever he was)

    • I'm surprised it took me this long to get into RH. The soap is so damn good, I am just as obsessed with the Ryan's as Delia. The Ryans are a great family unit and seem like good people. I wish I had a family like that. This show has so many parallels to BTG. Frank's mystery is very similar to Martin's. Both are my favorites on each show. adding more thoughts soon once I get a consistent watch going.
    • I also get why Gio feels his life was a lie. I get everyone's emotions are high now That's why I think Monica passing will be the catalyst that starts to the healing process for Gio, BLQ, Lois, Tracy, Ned, Olivia and Dante
    • Judging by the fact that I was able to watch two episodes today, looks like Canada being a day ahead might be permanent.
    • Agreed! I normally don't rate Amanda Setton that highly as an actress, but she knocked those scenes out of the park. Between this and the Michael storyline, I think we're in for a week of juicy drama. I heard everyone talking about how dull Rory Gibson was on Y&R, but I thought he was pretty good today playing a steelier version of Michael. And I loved Wiley's little "Bye mommy!" moment. The writers clearly know how much most of us hate Willow if they're tossing out little nuggets of schadenfreude like that one.
    • Slower day, but not bad. I thought Tomas was at his personal best today, flirting with Kat at Uptown.  Hayley is pregnant!  Oh boy... Samantha felt more like the babysitter today vs. the young sister. I'm ready to meet Sharon. I want a strong dynamic so it's not a repeat of what we just saw with Tracy's reunion.
    • They've been on same day for three episodes, which is a good thing because the days flowed weird to me before.
    • I see both Lois and BLQs sides re Gio BLQ wanted her son to be happy. Lois wanted to make sure it happened, so she gave him to family. Selfish?  Yes, but I get it Gio was raised by a loving mother and extended family. Lois followed BLQ wishes Great acting by AS & RS

date: Tuesday, May 27 | Christopher Dunn, Lynn Martin | Steven Williford I feel bad for Chelsea; she's exploring her feelings, and they're getting [unintentionally] hurt. But I love the support that Katherine has for her cousin. Bradley, you deserve one hundred times better than Deadbeat. So much more. Anita essentially tossing Tracy out... whew. She's done. DONE. Ouch... Chelsea hit the nerve with Katherine. How interesting... I feel like Tracy is becoming the mirror Anita has been avoiding while being a Dupree. What are these top secret things she's harbouring? I really hope Jessica's interest in Tyrell is genuine, because if it isn't, it might just destroy him. Back alley meetings? Your family? As if Bradley is not part of your family... Deadbeat, sit your ass down. Hey, Childbride, lower your damn voice. You're in the country club, not the country field where your ass belongs. And oh God, she's knocked up. Whew... here we go! Dante Greene, what control did this man have? But I appreciate that Anita and Tracy are uniting together; I pray that Sharon joins them soon. I love how easy Katherine and Tomas are with each other; it's smooth, it's natural and it's blooming in all the right ways. Hayley is about to battle the Dupree women for all she's worth. I am calling it right now. The unwavering support Vernon continues to provide to Anita is paramount; I adore them as the couple they are. Notes: Mike Manning (Bradley) continues to show up time and time again in scenes with Brandon Claybon (Deadbeat), who brings nothing to the table. There is an extreme lack of romantic chemistry between them. I'm wondering how different Dante Greene is going to be in comparison to Berry Gordy Jnr; we know the true history of Diana Ross and the Supremes, but how different will it be with Anita Williams and the Articulettes?
    • This episode is beyond excellent Could have waited on tge Trina Kai scenes  but regardless  great soap
    • Haha same! I didn't like her in the beginning, but over time, I've really grown to love to hate her as a villain.  I can't wait to listen to today's new episode later tonight! I've been waiting for the mom and dad (Crystal/Vincent) to have an interaction, so I'm happy to hear it's today.
