How was she overall?  It seems like her decisions were......questionable....

Mal Young's first behind-the-scenes move (that we know of).   Hope the music department is next. 

After clunkers like HHK, KSu.... the good outweighs the bad, but still, time for a change...

Now if Mal Young will move over the writer's room and start tossing some of their asses out....

I don't think HHK was a clunker. Also neither of those two were her finds. Judy has been a mixed bag at Y&R though with casting.

Too many actors from cancelled or other soaps Tristan Rogers, Billy Miller, Jason Thompson,Melissa Claire Egan,Gina Tognini, Kelly Sullivan, Steve Burton etc Not that there is anything wrong with that, but they are better off finding more new talent that can be identified with the show.

Bye b*tch. While most of her casting ok to good, the AMC/ABC soap overload of her hirings turned me off as the acting style/look of these actors and actresses don't mesh with Y&R for me...

Yeah, like above, I am totally done with former ABC actors taking over the show....granted not all of them are bad, but it's really time to see if their is new talent out there.

To be fair to casting directors, they don't make the final decision.  Sure, I guess you can blame them for having a bad actor as an option in the first place. 

I wish Jill Newton would return as casting director.  She seemed to understand which type of actor "worked" best on Y&R.  Of course, nowadays, THAT means zilch to the higher-ups.

l agree -- I don't think HHK was a clunker, either. I can understand not liking the character or not thinking she's amazing, but a bad actress? No. 

 

Sometimes I get so tired of posters saying this actor and that actress need acting coaches. It gets ridiculous.

 

Glad she is gone. She only hired AMC actors it seemed. This wasn't AMC it was Y&R.

When did Wilson actually start? 2011? 2012? Under MAB? Overall the casting has generally improved during the JFP years with of course two mega casting hits with Hartley and Tognoni but of course there's been clunkers. Bad writing doesn't help matters either.

 

It would be nice to get Marnie Saitta back at Y&R.
