So Rick and Ivy knew about the 'surprise' wedding before Brooke, Donna, Liam and Wyatt? Um, no. Sorry, trying to force Rick & Maya into being jerks for that plot point was not the best choice and not believable. However, there were three things I liked: 1) Rick's comment on Aly being spawn of Thorne/Darla - that was pretty funny and Rick's zingers about Ivy's line (petty, but colorful); 2) Bill reaching out to Wyatt; 3) Donna/Brooke's conversation about replacing men with alcohol.

Rick has made me hate Maya They're now both cartoons.

Yeah after some great writing this soap is going down the tubes fast again. I didn't care for any of the Rick stuff today. And now its about Brooke again and having no man…how boring….and Brooke standing up for Katie…hahaha…really..how absurd and stupid.

Bill and Katie gettng married tomorrow. WTF. Why is Bell rushing this? Its like the kiss of death for both of those characters. And what the hell is wrong with Katie wanting Brooke to be her maid of honor? What a cruel joke. Why not ask useless Donna instead?

I didnt see that as much of a big deal. This all happened rather fast. Bill and Katie probably sent e-vites to Rick and Ivy but felt it was something they needed to tell their closest ones in person. Made sense

I hate what they have done to Maya and Rick. Rick I can understand, but the writing for Maya has become very inconsistent. I don't get it...

I was liking Rick's arrogance at first and thought it was just but now he needs to move on. It's getting me to no longer be rooting for him. He's wanted the CEO position for so long so he should be doing business at this point instead of still putting everyone down just for fun.

I enjoyed Maya's scenes with Brooke at the mansion but I found her very petty today. Agreed that this isn't doing herself any favors.

Katie needs to have A friend, any friend, instead of having to always have her sisters around. It seems like everyone on this show only hangs out with their dysfunctional families! Really?

I'm a day behind but I felt so bad for Aly on Monday's epi!! Rick and Maya basically laughing in her face, ridiculing her.

What exactly is the point in making Rick and Maya so unlikeable?? It's not longer ''love to hate'' here...

Exactly! As soon as Carter said it..... Oh and I usually get real tired of the Brooke show, but I'm intrigued enough by this turn to go with it. I loved Brooke's response to reigning Rick in - I'm Drunk Brooke Logan and I don't care because MY HeartGina is broken!

I dont think KKl is good at playing a drunk which I guess adds to the camp. There is nothing subtle about Brooke. I see her giving me alot of material to make gifs out of...lol. I only wish Hunter Tylo was around for this

Thorston Kaye is the only reason I watch this show..the have palyed musical weddings for 20 years now..same people marrying each other..Dumb as hell!!! and unwatchable except for Thorston.OMG folks

I thought the rumour was Suzanne stayed friends with him after the break up and took his side. I’ve never heard about an affair.

A few months ago, Suzanne was interviewed for about an hour on the Soapy podcast. Although she didn't mention Deidre, she did tell a story about some resentment with other actors. She shared that when she was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in the mid-1980s, her appearance changed and two or three of the other actors made derogatory remarks about it. Suzanne also admitted she still harbors a grudge about it, and she doubts forgiveness is in the future. Could this be the cause of the current issue between Suzanne and Deidre? I'm sure Suzanne's interview is still available, if anyone is interested in listening.

Yeah, I don't think he would've been as successful at AW as he was elsewhere. For one thing, NBC was gonna NBC, and P&G was gonna P&G. There's no way Douglas Marland would have enjoyed the kind of support there that he had at ATWT or GL. And for another, aside from its' longtime, core audience, I really do believe most of the rest of the industry and viewers had just written off AW, expecting it to be cancelled sooner or later.

Wasn't there also the rumor that Suzanne allegedly had an affair with Deidre's now-ex-husband?
If I were Dee, I wouldn't care one whit about that. As long as he was out of MY house, he could have all the cookies he wants, lol.

Maybe. You aren't the first person to bring up that idea. It seems silly though. I doubt Suzanne had anything to do with Dee/Drake's firing and they were brought back fairly quickly anyway. The show did use Maggie more back then, but even if Deidre was mad about that-get over it! It was a decade ago.

Speculation, but could it have something to do with (or exasperated by) the aftermath of Marlena & John being written out for a few years in the late 2000s? Rogers' screentime shot up in that era and I remember hearing good things about her work. Whereas Maggie barely qualified as a character from when Hall returned in the 90s until then.

I'd say the same about Susan Lucci's issues with SMG. In fact, I'd blame two people for that mess: 1) SMG's mother, who allegedly told anyone and everyone that SMG/Kendall was going to be the next Erica Kane; and 2) Christopher Goutman, who, as one of AMC's directors, allegedly encouraged SMG to say or do something in a scene with Lucci that was unscripted and without Lucci's prior knowledge or approval.
