Y&R: March Discussion

Marlon Brando didn't have the most masculine of voices and he definitely made it work for him. I'm in no way comparing the two except in terms of the timbre and pitch of the voice.

If I were directing Tom, I really would suggest he find a way to take more time enunciating the dialogue. When he takes more time, his voice tends to sllightly lower its register. When he speeds up words, he tends to get squeaky. Perhaps Tom is amped up and not even realizing he's doing this. A director's job is to remind him of this. I always find myself asking 'Where is the Director?' when it comes to Y&R.

One thing David should really consider doing, and this is going to sound superficial and shallow, is to work on his physique. I'm not talking about bulking up (frankly, I'm not a fan over the super muscley type) but to develop defined, lean muscle mass--the kind a fit runner or even a tennis player might have.

Then he could get away from the shapeless, baggy clothes and the slightly too big shirts that seem to dwarf him and make him look like a perpetual teenager. Perhaps wearing clothes that have a more tailored fit might provide a more grown up look.

JMO.

Cassie needs to break Victor out of this fetish he's developed recently for using doppelgangers to gaslight people. And she should do it by secretly going rogue and giving Victor no ends of trouble while pretending to be doing his dirty work. This needs to be such a headache for Victor that he never ever even considers doing something like this again.

I doubt Victor will suffer, thereby ensuring that he will never learn but it sure would be a nice change.

All good suggestions for DT. The fact that you have them shows that you see there are issues with him.

He definitely needs to work out. And if they end the Villy drama and give him a new story/pairing where he is the clear protagonist (he seems like the antagonist for a Victoria and Stitch right now) , I suspect he will be better received. I just hope it is not a Villy redux of sorts with Chelsea and Victor playing antagonist.

Can they actually send some people from this show over to B&B? These crossovers have felt one sided for awhile now.

Jacob Young said in an interview that there could be some Y&R characters crossing over to B&B in the future

For me, David Tom and Billy Miller are basically on par in terms of acting skill and looks.

Me, too. They both reek to the highest heavens. :)

Did Jess sign a contract, or is she just included out of goodwill? Say what you want about her, but JFP really does seem to like Jess/Jill a lot.

Jess in the opening credits...where she belongs, doing the 'Jill' pose with hand on hip, long hair flowing. I love JFP, the first EP to appreciate Jess Walton in a good 10 years.

Well, liking them and thinking they are great actors are two different things. I find them both personable and good enough for daytime.

Does Victor know who the Cassie look alike really is? It's hard to believe he hasn't investigated her origins. If she isn't related to Sharon this basically seems all for naught, and if she is Victor is really on an even more despicable track then he was before.

Yes. There's an arrest warrant for her in Portland that he was threatening her with, though it seems as though she is a little more interested in apologizing to Sharon. He doesn't know why she came to GC though.

Yes, I remember the Portland thing. I feel like he should have investigated who her parents are though. Shouldn't he be wondering if this is Cassie's twin or some relation? I know she would still be no real relation to him, but wouldn't sentimentality make him feel something? I can hardly believe Nick would be indifferent to Cassie's twin even though she is no relation to him.

Since thinking Jack is her father has changed Summer's relationship with the Newman's (in ways I find unbelievable), I guess I feel Victor has some justification for trying to get the truth out of Sharon. He'll be restoring Nick's relationship with his daughter, but using this young woman without even knowing who she really is grates on me.

Yeah, I think seeing Cassie's double will affect everyone else.

Victor said he is using the Cassie look-alike to prevent Nick and Sharon from reuniting, and trying to learn what the secret is. I don't think anyone knows that Sharon had any involvement in the paternity reveal but Phyllis and Cassie's ghost. Vic may have put the pieces together by now but if so, that's new. This gaslighting has been underway for a while.

I hate it how Vic always says "if you do _____________, you will regret it." And he is never referring to naturally occurring consequences. He then goes on to make them regret it. So the destruction that ensues is always HIS doing. It is not a consequences of anyone else's actions. He creates huge messes that probably would not happen otherwise. It is beyond tiresome to me.

I enjoy David Tom's Billy more when he interacts with characters other than Victoria. Everything about him seems much more relaxed. I also think his severe underbite causes him to have problems with enunciation.

That story was first posted by Radar Online on Feb. 25, 2014, I posted it in the spoilers section.

I am still hoping for Chris Engen, not some actor who is already disliked by soap fans.

That article says they are looking for a very specific actor to replace Michael Muhney.

Does that mean they are going to vet this recast and when I say vet, I mean, check out his Twitter history and make sure he doesn't have a tendency to praise himself on a daily basis?

Haha. I think they realize what a pivotal role Adam is to the Y&R canon. After the popularity and strength of MM as an actor (Love him or hate him, he does have talent), they know they need to get someone good. I still think they should wait until November at the earliest.

Victoria Rowell @victoriarowell 1m

Is it true Young & Restless character, Neil, used wife DRU's much used colloquialism, "Enough is enough and too much is foolish" last week?

Didn't ring a bell with me, and doesn't now. Sorry, VR.

I wish she would just move on.
