Members soapfan770
I'd like to forget actually... Hey knowing the twists we've seen this Cassie look-alike will turnout to be the secret product of Sharon's affair with Diego. Or Grace Turner seeking revenge herself. Members chicklitsandfantasies
Every twist to Cane's story was worse then the last. The "evil" twin who took the bullet instead of him crap made not a lick of sense. And how did no one in town see "Ghost Cane" sitting next to Lily at "Caleb's" funeral? Members sivad40
Or maybe the Cassie look-alike is the daughter that Sharon miscarried during the Matt Clark saga. I know that baby died but it would be an suspension of disblief twist. The age of that daughter would fit CG well because she was younger than Noah but older than Summer. Members ajsp35801
If they just have to make her Sharon's, I would rather say she gave birth during one of her stints off camera where SC was in contract dispute. And say she was having issues with bipolar disorder then and thought it was one of her delusions. The baby could have been very premature. Please do not retcon a miscarriage if you don't have to. Members chicklitsandfantasies
That still makes no sense though that said daughter would be the same age and look exactly like Cassie.
Members sivad40
On ATWT, Julianne Moore portrayed both paternal half-sisters Frannie and Sabrina Hughes. When Moore left they recasted the characters with separate actresses.
Members ajsp35801
True. However, this is a soap. We must make allowances for coincidence. It's no more unbelievable than Adam surviving an explosion and hypothermia after he survived a car crash.
Members dm.
The whole doppelganger thing is just such lazy writing, and should be banned permanantely from Y&R, IMO. Okay, so let's this again... since 2005, we've had the following dual roles: 1. Kimberlin Brown - Sheila Carter / Sugar 2. Marisa Ramirez - Carmen Mesta / Ines Vargas 3. Ted Shackelford - William Bardwell / Jeffrey Bardwell 4. Jerry Douglas - John Abbott / Alistair Wallingford 5. Michelle Stafford - Phyllis Summers / Sheila Carter 6. Jeanne Cooper - Katherine Chancellor / Marge Cotrooke 7. Daniel Goddard - Cane Ashby / Caleb Atkinson 8. Tracey E. Bregman - Lauren Baldwin / Sara Smythe 9. Stacy Haiduk - Patty Williams / Emily Peterson 2013 was the first year since 2004 in which there weren't any actors playing dual roles.
Members edgeofnik
Thanks for posting this list. The irony is that of all 9, I think we could have readily accepted back-from-dead (no doppelganger) with Jerry Douglas. I mean, if the stupid convoluted Phillip story could fly (another on screen death), then why couldn't they have done the same with John Abbott? I know there's been an attempt to make Jack the "patriarch" of the family, but that doesn't work because Jack doesn't have all those kids living under his roof. Members Nate4
I'm on Wednesday's episode but I'm enjoying YR more then I have in years. It's the best soap on atm.
Members DramatistDreamer
This only worked because of the prodigious talent of Julianne Moore and some half way decent writing. Y&R has more than used up their quota, IMO. Half of those listed were terribly written stories.
Members Aback
Thank you for doing that list. It really is ridicoulus. What are these writers thinking. It makes me sick.
Members soapfan770
Only half? I'd say 7 of the 9 I couldn't stomach at all....
Members Faulkner
Oy. Were ANY of those stories good? I guess the beginning of Kay/Marge revisited was OK, but it deteriorated quickly.
