Katherine left NOTHING for:

Amber

Mackenzie's son Dylan (or any other future great-grandchildren

Billy

Pearl and Joe, Jr.

Gina and Danny, her once-stepchildren

Nina made out better than Esther! Esther was ROBBED.

Maybe because I like Devon but I am happy he got a lot...he didnt expect it and was humble with wanting something sentimental like the music collection...that is the kind of person you leave a lot to...not money grabbers who fantasizes about getting it all!

Maybe I'm wrong but I assumed that Esther would be responsible for the upkeep since she got a $20,000 per month stipend but maybe that money is for her to spend as she wishes? (*shrugs*). In any case, someone is going to be saddled with a maintenance bill for the mansion.

This episode felt really weird and incomplete with no Brock, Mac, Nina, Phillip or Chance at the reading.

I hate that the will reading was more about the interlopers getting a piece than family and old friends. And I so forgot about Gina and Danny. They should've gotten a piece of the fortune too.

But Cane got a piece. GMAFB. -__-

Ugh. Cane is seriously dragging this show down. Daniel G has no freaking charisma. With another character in his place, I could completely enjoy this Hillary story.

Daniel Goodard gotta go the Cane character is sucking the life out of the show. one thing MAB did right was try and get rid of Cane but was over ruled by Sony

It's not about Jill being rich or broke its about her thinking she deserves to run Chancellor. Its the same thing that was going on before Katherine died. Jill thinks she should run everything.

The problem with all of this is that the characterization of Katherine changed so radically after that hack bitch from the depths of hell LML and MAB as they made her some sort of "business tycoon, sage counsel, town grandmother"...when we'd had 30 years of "alcoholic, scheming, vulnerable, tortured, icy, bitch"...these 7 or 8 years really rewrote Katherine's legacy, for the worse. It was evident that 90% of the flashback clips used to cover her death have been from the LML/MAB days...which displayed a very, very different Katherine from the character most of us loved.

YES. Lord knows I'm not as versed in Y&R as others here are, but I grew up watching these characters and they were real people to me. I tuned in for the funeral episodes last week and some of the will-reading today, and this Mrs. C sh!t is just crazy. I know people sweeten up once a loved one has died, but acting as if Katherine was merely a curmudgeonly grandmother with a heart of gold sucks all of the soapy history out of the character's life. Sad.

Absolutely. The last 7 years destroyed Katherine's legacy. They sucked the anger out of the character and rewrote the dynamic with Jill to the point that it was Katherine the saint and Jill the sinner, when in fact there had been 30 years of symbiosis confirming that each woman was to blame in equal measure and that they couldn't live without each other and that their relationship ended up being the most significant one either woman had in their lives. The hateful dynamic became comic relief, no more apparent than last year, shortly after Jess Walton returned to the role of Jill, when Kay faked being sick to see if Jill cared about her which ended in laughter.

If anything, Katherine, for many years, was a bigger bitch than Jill, even when she had someone to love her, like Rex, she made Jill's life hell. And we loved her for it. The audience, by in large, loved wicked Katherine, we loved watching Jill and Kay tussle because it was a fair fight, they were both, paradoxically, villain and victim.

And yet, LML and MAB disregarded this completely and went with "magnanimous Katherine"...and she was boring to watch and couldn't have been that much fun to play. The Katherine of this last decade had everything "together"...she was never a mess. And therefore she was not the character Jeanne Cooper played the hell out of.

I don't believe for a second that Brenda Dickson presumed years ago that Jeanne Cooper had passed away.

Unless Dickson is boozing dawn 'til dusk. Abe Vigoda, maybe but not Jeanne Cooper.

If I took over this show, I would decapitate Cane on Day One.

I don't understand why soap execs are so awed by these marginal celeb hires. The dude had a Beastmaster syndicated cable series. Who cares? At least Corbin Bleu on OLTL is charismatic and a young male of color.

The will better be contested.. It seems very disrespectful considering everything that's happened with Katherine these 40 years

Who would contest it? Jill? she is probably the only one because I don't see Mac, Brock, P3 or P4 caring one iota.

The woman Brenda Dickson presumed was long dead was Lee Philip Bell. What Brenda Dickson said about Jeanne, after she'd died, concerned trashing Jeanne's alcoholism. Classless of her.

Much to my chagrin, he is the father of Lily's children and she can't have anymore. So now the writers don't have to worry about her having kids with any other characters from core families. Cane has served his purpose. No Winters in the core families. Let's move on from Cane now please.
