MTV: RuPaul's Drag Race

Totally fine with it being contrived. I just thought the finale was a low-energy, repetitive snoozefest, which is a shame because the rest of the season was fun enough due to the high talent level. (The RPDR finales are never good, but this disappointed me because these are the Avengers of Drag Race.) Give us a real showcase for everyone’s talents, not just the vogue queens. And if they are going to do a lip-sync smackdown, at least vary the styles of the songs a bit more.

I have been a faithful watcher of most of the international editions but had to give up on Down Under Season 2 as the production was atrocious and the queens rough and not entertaining.

France i gave up after about 3 eps and didn't even bother with Canada.

Hopefully UK Season 4 will be an improvement.

RuPaul's Down Under Season 2 was a little weird to watch because it just seemed like RuPaul and Michelle Visage are getting burnt out with it. Yes, I agree that the production needs improvement. On the other hand, I like the RuPaul's Drag Race UK Season 4, but disappointed that the ones I liked "sashay-ed away" too soon. Yep, I think drag race fatigue is already happening, and World of Wonder brought it on themselves. I'll still watch it as it's silly entertainment, but if people aren't following these queens on social media like they used to back in the day, then that's implicitly saying something. The viewers are getting tired of it.

Hahahaha! Silky Nutmeg not knowing who the special guests are. I would have been the same with the female vocalist.

Drag Race is moving to MTV from VH1 and is expanding to new versions in Brazil, Germany, and Mexico. They are also doing a Global All-Stars on Paramount+.

As much I hate the overextended Drag Race universe, I’m looking forward to the Brazilian version:

    • I dont understand the motivation behind it. Eva is her link to Ted and the Duprees and without her, she has nothing. It would have served better for Eva to be all fed up with her and leave the house on her own and Leslie try to make amends bc she needs her for this comeup she's been talking about. Eva can repair her relationship with Ted and maybe build something with the Duprees and cut her out
    • So good today Dante is overreacting blaming gio Hopefully Danny will come clean
    • Not mad at Leslie Locking Eva out, I think it's important for the audience to see her on her own for a while. Curious how scrappy and savvy she becomes on her own. Yeah, I am with you there. It feels a bit hollow; maybe if she was talking to Martin and Kat I would feel better about it. There must be more to this story. Daphnee and Ambyr owned this episode. Tugging my heart in every scene. Nicole process hurt and anger much differently than Dani though.
    • I also really enjoyed Eva's scenes with Kat today. They have an interesting chemistry. I thought it really did feel a bit like sisters at conflict. Especially with the way that Eva was trying to convince Kat to forgive Ted and them both coming to the conclusion that the man they thought was their father was different wasn't who they really thought he was initially. And the way that Eva broke down when Kat said that she was dead to her was emotional stuff. I really do think that in spite of their conflict/bickering Eva really would have loved to have gained a sister, along with a brother, father, etc... Also, I thought it was interesting how Eva kept saying that she loves Ted and Nicole. That and Leslie mentioning that Kat/Eva are almost twins really does make me wonder if Kat may really be her twin and Nicole's as well. I would gladly welcome that outcome, even if it takes a while for it to come out. At this point Leslie doesn't deserve Eva as a daughter as far as I'm concerned. And I would forward to a storyline where we found out that she's Nicole's second baby girl, and all the complex and ultimately happy feelings that would bring Nicole. Eva/Kat could still have a rivalry, especially if Nicole ended up doing some more bonding with Eva. And then we could get the rest of the family's reaction to that as well.

What you NOT gonna do to me!
    • Bravo to every single person responsible for today's episode. From the writer on down to Kraft services. Yall I'm getting emotional but I wish my granny was here to have seen this soap since she was the one to introduce me to this medium.

    • Everything is fraught with confusion. Why is Leslie pleading with the Duprees to accept Eva? She's not biological family so what is this? She's the product of an affair with their in-law so Leslie wants them to accept her? I'm getting GOOD TIMES vibes of Leslie and Eva minus the physical abuse.
    • Big fan of today's writing. In particular, I like EJ complexity, crying over Johnny and conspiring at the same is tough to pull off in the same episode, but it goes very far in explaining EJ's motives. I don't hate the idea of Cat and EJ, and I especially appreciate everyone trying to warn her, but she is sticking to the plan. Boy oh boy, when Brandon Beemer wears a shirt that matches his eyes, I get lost in the screen!
