Tracey Ross! That's her name. She is one step higher than the current Veronica, but that ain't saying much. Actually, their faces, voices, and overall sucky acting are very very similar.

Jasmine Guy would be faaaaaaabulous especially if they wanted to make the character more of a viper than a kitty cat.

I think the actress playing Katherine is perfectly fine. And Peter Parros is a better actor than OLTL or ATWT ever gave him credit for. And you know, not every soap can be full of Andrew Trischitta's. wink.png

Pete Parros is as sterile as ever. Just a block of wood, and now he's trying to play edgy? My god! Just takes me back to the time when ATWT went from 4 black male characters [a record for any soap] to one, and PP was the one left standing. Travesty of the highest order!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I remember that. A sick joke.

He is a handsome man and mildly watchable, and he has a bit more gravitas now that he's older. But they appear to have dyed his temples gray and made him affect that accent.

I like Parros, he looks fine and Ive tried to be kind about him but yeah his acting isn't so great either. He does come across pretty wooden

Parros hasn't been given anything to do. Other than try and clean up after John Schneider. I honestly can't recall him even having a true conversation with his wife or son.

I wish Tyler Perry would have gotten a former soap star or season primetime vet to play Veronica. Ameila Marshall, Petronia Paley, Tracey Ross, Renee Jones, Sabrina Le Beauf, Tamara Tunie, Chanelle Brown, Jasmine Guy, etc.

I wish he had gotten a former soap writer to at least co-write.

Everyone on the show other than Tika, John Schneider and Crystal Fox is distractingly bad.

And the long silent film pauses for the endless reaction shots don't help them either.

Oh, and poor Peter Parros, but they have him doing a Colonel Sanders accent.

Aside from everything else terrible about it, my biggest problem with the show is: Candace is actually the Erica Kane or Rachel Davis, the heart of the only good part of the story, not pure evil but something much more raw and complex, but in the world of Tyler Perry this character is ultimately nothing more than a whore who doesn't know her place with a man and with God. That's how that story for that kind of character always ends with Perry - total submission or destruction.

Exactly. I think if they had shown her friendship with her brother as more loving--not so simplistic, but rather that they both are dealing with living under the oppression of her mother's issues in separate ways, it could be really interesting.

I think Parros had some grey in his hair when he popped up on ATWT again briefly in 2009.

I used to think he was wooden, and part of me still does, but I think he's a good stalwart partirach/leading man, like an Eric Forrester figure. If I were writing a soap that's where I would cast him.

Lord, OWN just ordered 16 more episodes. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

For season 1 or is that a season 2 next year?
