Had this been said about Suri Cruise or Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, every sack of sh!t on staff would be filing for unemployment this morning.

I get the feeling the idea was supposed to be a) an observation on how any actress in Hollywood gets hate and bile all the time b ) some idea of comic "irony" - a typical type of attack used on women in Hollywood, only now exposed because it's used against a child. But it's just too much, it's way too much. I think everyone is so cynical and glib now that they don't ever know what the line is. There's no reason for that, or the line about George Clooney.
February 25, 201313 yr Member I thought this was an interesting article, basically talking about the shock value bigotry at the awards, and how flat it seemed. http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2013/02/the-banality-of-seth-macfarlanes-sexism-and-racism-at-the-oscars/273460/
February 25, 201313 yr Member Not offended by anything Seth did, but he still underperformed as a host. I expected more from him. And hearing ScarJo's nominated song for the first time watching the awards it's clear that song should have definitely beat Adele's Skyfall, by leaps and bounds. I wonder if Jessica Chastain will be the next Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, etc, and never win ... Edited February 25, 201313 yr by Bright Eyes

Considering Jessica's break out role was just less than 2 years ago, she's been nominated TWICE AND she's getting more work than all of The Help's black cast members combined, I'd have to say that I don't give a sh!t!
February 25, 201313 yr Member The "we saw your boobs" number was inappropriate. I wish they had done a quick pan to the reaction faces to the women he mentioned because Charlize looked like she wanted to kill him.

I've been away for the most part but I have to say I am totally with you. I have seen all the Oscar nominated films, and to me Zero Dark 30 and Chastain were 2 of the most pimped and overrated of the year. Her performance wasn't even the best performance in her own film(Clarke and Ehle were better) forget the rest of the field. She ranked 5 on my list of best actresses. I was underwhelmed by the ceremony. Seth McFarlane wasn't bad. He really wasnt the problem. It seemed very poorly paced and structured. The best part was the fact that not one film dominated. I loved Amour, Life of Pi, Beasts of the Southern Wilde, and Djando , liked the rest, but I'm just glad they spread the love around. And I think Ang Lee is a fantastic director. What he did with Life of Pi was extraordinary. Edited February 25, 201313 yr by JaneAusten

I wish they had done a quick pan to the reaction faces to the women he mentioned because Charlize looked like she wanted to kill him. No she didn't. She was in the skit. All the actresses that they showed during that number agreed to be in it and it was pre-filmed. That's why they weren't wearing the same dresses. She obviously wasn't upset considering she agreed to be in the skit.
February 25, 201313 yr Member Comedy pushing limits is fine, but I found the "we saw your boobs" song to be immature and not very clever at all. MacFarlane was trying way too hard.
February 25, 201313 yr Member I love how the camera starts searching for O'Russell once they realise the mistake but then it was too late LOL. She could not have been less impressed LOL. LOL

A few of them mentioned being part of the opening in a shocking way of the rd carpet, and CT is friends with Seth.
