AMC: The Prospect Park Era (old production thread)

I'm pretty sure Prospect Park quietly released them from their contracts. It's so confusing since they didn't film the amount of episodes they were originally supposed to, so there is no telling what their contract terms were. If it's like a typical contract, then my guess is their 13 week cycle (or whatever the equivalent is for PP soaps) came up and they had to decide whether to renew everybody and risk not having the money to film, or release everybody so they could still pursue other work.

Kassie DePaiva has also said she's officially looking for work now.

Exactly why I thought the 3 from OLTL were right to join and stay at GH.

even though their characters don't serve any purpose to the canvas

HNY said on the DD board that all the actors from both AMC and OLTL all signed a one year contract with PP back in January, while some other actors signed a shorter term deal that expired late last month.

You don't need to recast Zach. Just say he reunited with Kendall.

I'd rather say the Koslovs killed him.

You mean some of the actors signed a one-year contract but others signed the shorter deal that just expired? If that's true, I'm relieved not all the actors are now off contract.

I still believe AMC will be filming again eventually even if it is in January instead of October.

I have to admit that this kind of disappoints me. I'd actually grown to like Zach in AMC 2.0 and was interested in seeing what happened between him and Lea.

If AMC is going to start shooting again, they might as well take their time. Between Eden's and Garces' pregnancies and now with TK gone that's a whole section of the canvas that needs serious reworking.

I never liked Zach on ABC's AMC so I was shocked at how much I enjoyed him on the new version. I'll definitely miss him, but I'm okay with this since the future of those shows is so uncertain. Especially with a high profile role (and soap) like this, he definitely made a smart move.

I think it's clear that if AMC moves forward, it will do so similar to a weekly drama, and that's going to require a change in the pace of storylines. I think it's doable, but I think they need to restructure the show and cull the cast. As much as I like some of the characters and think some new characters have potential, I'd jettison about half of them and go with a much smaller contract cast.

The cast isn't that big to begin with.

I mean, where would you make these cuts? Let's assume that with Zach out Lea's gone too - what's left to cut into? A lot of those extant players are not on contract. I don't see where it would be necessary to cut.

I know that Evelyn, Adam, Joe, Jane, Hunter, & Heather are non contract roles. I believe the others have contracts

Dead and buried so true lol

Jamey_Giddens (@Jamey_Giddens) I can see it now: "Well, we were gonna bring back All My Children for Season 2, but NOOOO! Brad Bell stole Zach Slater!" (

When AMC premiered didn't it have like 15 people on Contract??

Here is what I predict:

Contract

  1. Brooke
  2. Dimitri
  3. Celia
  4. Pete
  5. Opal
  6. Mirranda
  7. Bianca
  8. AJ
  9. JR
  10. David
  11. Colby
  12. Tad
  13. Dixie
  14. Jesse
  15. Angie
  16. Cassandra

Racurring

  1. Evelyn
  2. Heather
  3. Hunter
  4. Billy
  5. Joe
  6. Adam
  7. Erica
  8. Jane

As the show progresses I am sure more people will be on contract. Also, Recurring doesn't mean no story at all.
