Id have to pull up the scenes but I thought when Hope was SORASed, she already knew. She wasnt pissed at Brooke. She got super upset when she overheard Brooke talk to Ridge about it and mentioned that it was the biggest mistake of her life or something to that effect, which caused Hope to run out and almost get raped. I think she was fine with Brooke when she found her

Passions is its own level of nastiness that I wont even touch.

Back to the topic a few pages ago, I wouldn't have a problem with Cady as this JR's mother and AJ's grandmother IF she at least played Dix with more maturity. Instead we have her mooning over Tad's picture like he'd died and squealing like a giggly schoolgirl when he called, not to mention ignoring JR's culpability for "that night." I haven't found anything to like about her, so far!

Correction: if Hunter had been portrayed by someone with genuine talent, I would have gone the "Dangerous Liaisons" route with him, Sally and Miranda. He and Sally bet as to whether he can seduce young Miranda; in the process of doing so, he develops actual feelings for the girl; AJ discovers their plot and attempts to intervene; Miranda slaps him and tells him their sibling-like friendship is finished; she is humiliated when her "first time" with gorgeous Hunter becomes social network fodder; Hunter attempts an explanation, but Miranda won't hear it; AJ and Miranda make amends; Hunter vows to win her back; and Sally becomes the Erica of her generation.

Oh, God, not the '80's Taylor Dayne throwback Sally. Give me SOME effing credit, Vee. I would have created an entirely different, less ridiculous characterization for the girl.

Of course!

Folks, I'm talking hypotheticals. My version of the AJ/Miranda/Hunter/Sally story is no more likely to happen (especially now) than replacing Pete with AJ in the story w/ Celia and having Celia be actual student at Bramwell Hall and not whatever rewrite the writers have settled on in order to explain away Jordan Lane Price's age.

I also wouldn't have called the school "Bramwell Hall," and I probably would have made it co-ed, and have all the teens attending there instead of PVHS.

Celia isn't a tutor at Bramwell because JLP is too old to play a high schooler, she's a tutor so Pete doesn't look like a f.ucking weirdo. Now they get the best of both worlds, her running around in a school uniform and it's legal! Cookies for everyone.

Why "instead of"? Why couldn't you watch both? It's no different from Tara/Erica, Jenny/Liza, etc.

But as for why Miranda couldn't be the Erica: she can't be, because they don't need the same thing from their relationships. Erica is Erica, after all, because she has always felt unloved by her father. She has always wanted to be "special"; she even said so. Miranda, as I've said in the past, just wants to be "normal" after dealing both with Bianca and with Erica.

    • Hm. I just realized that Dani/Andre feel like the main B plot this week. And I'm not at all complaining about that. I just figured it would be Doug/Joey/Vanessa storyline, but there is one last week in this month so perhaps that is just going to be a C plot until next week.
    • Thanks for starting this thread!  I was hoping others were listening and would want to chat about it. I'm really enjoying Montecito!  The production and audio values are top notch. The storylines are interesting and keep me wanting more.  There is corporation succession, cheating, alcoholism, bisexual relationships, divorced parents, brother/sister drama, scorned mother, father/son relationship issues, etc. At first I couldn't stand Mena's (sp?) voice, but I've grown to enjoy her and I love to hate her as a villain. I keep hearing Smitty (BTG) in Mike Manning's voice, so it keeps throwing me haha. The only thing going against it is one episode per week, at only 18 minutes long, so we need more content. Anyone else listening and enjoying it?
    • This, plus they nixed their overnight set crew during the COVID era and never brought them back.

    • I did some research because I had a similar question. (also, I don't want to poop on your joke which was amusing, but it sent me down a rabbit hole) A Reddit user who works at TeleVision City (where Y&R is filmed) estimated it takes 45 minutes to set up or reconstruct an already built set.  However, according to union rules, it takes at least seven crew members (not counting lighting and sound installation).  As always, the real cost is the labor, not the task.   Y&R uses robotic cameras, so there is only a skeleton crew on set.  Most of their crew budget goes to production assistants, who cannot move sets.  So, they would need to hire a crew every time they wanted to put up or take down a set (for two days) as well as a lighting and sound design installation.  Which is obviously very different from how production worked when money was more freely spent (and good for the unions for keeping the workplace safe). So, filming a single day in Lauren and Michael's living room could cost as much as they spend on two actors salaries for an entire year.
    • I knew Giovanni Mazza was talented but damn that kid is a star in the making.
    • The Nurses' Ball has always been cringey, fast forward material for me, but especially during the Frank era. The musical numbers and audience reactions are unwatchable.  So many of the conflicts on this show feel phony and manufactured. Probably no better instance is the Gio - Dante crap. Gio's whole story is inorganic, plot driven, no stakes, fake conflict; giving people lame drama just to give them drama, a prime example of GH under Frank.
    • What is the reason why soaps can’t use whatever sets they want? How exactly does it cost money..? I’m sure they still have Michael and Lauren’s house, why can’t they just put it up and shoot it when needed lol
    • I'm binging last week and I still find it so odd how different the show feels. Before I felt like each episode felt so long but the show is gliding by now. I'm on Thursday and it's crazy how real the characters feel. It doesn't feel like Days of Our Lives because I'm so used to everything being slapstick. It's definitely nice seeing layers to the characters now. I'm beginning to feel really confident about the coming months when the new headwriters can introduce their own stories.
