It only sounds like Frisco is slowly dying of a wasting disease. Sadly, I'm not that lucky for it to be written into the story. This storyline is very, very poorly written and produced - he has basically no real airtime or dialogue beyond the growling and glowering that make him come off like an unstable homeless person, and all I want is for Maxie to shoot him in the junk.

not necessarily but when said creator establishes enough ties and references between the two, I would say they are. The two are set in towns which are relatively close to each other and there have been plenty of crossovers over the decades.

Right and had characters interacting (briefly) even in AMC's first year. Of course Dr Hardy from GH came to--I think--OLTL in its first year....

Irna saw AW/ATWT as more related to each other in theme than to GL with Another World being another As the World Turns. Of course, since Mike Bauer from GL crossed over to AW, this was odd.

I saw OLTL and AMC more as sibling soaps than the P&G ones because of the ABC cross promotion. B&B and Y&R were even closer as for many more years they had the same team.

Getting back to GH, I never saw it having anything other than spinoffs.

According to that recent Bill Bell book, for a number of years early on Bill strongly (for some reason) resisted aknowleding either show on each other and didn't want them to be connected at first.

Must we really have this ridiculous repetitive dialogue. Ugh. GH isn't the only show with bad dialogue. I also don't like the dialogue type they have on Bunheads which is that rambling on crap like what was on Gilmore Girls. Oh well other than that todays show looks good so far.

It's a classic soap trope to do that--but I think in the day of DVRs and online viewing and online recaps, it isn't needed--and Ron handles it particularly poorly.

(As for Bunheads--I dislike Amy Sherman-Palladino's style of dialogue too, but many love it. If you disliked the fast talking, random pop culture reference dialogue of Gilmore Girls--just don't watch her new show. Problem solved).

Love the fact that there's less commercials today. Seems like the scenes are so long.

It was just balanced differently--they had less commercials and longer "acts" up till the midway point and then we got a few mins of show, commercial, a few mins of show, commercial etc to catch up

As for the return of the Ice Princess story--I know it's the anniversary bla bla, but wouldn't it be better to wrap up one of their overthetop camp fantasy/sci fi stories (the vamps) first and not have two going at once? Or maybe they'll just drop one for a month or two like they like to do.
