It's a vicious cycle, if an actor phones it in, or doesn't have good screen presence, there is less motivation to write for them. Kristoff is guilty of occasionally not giving his best performances in the last few years (as is every other actor currently on the show) but his acting in general is not the reason Neil as a character is problematic. That totally has to do with the writers (just as it does with Bryton, Tonya & Veronica). And if actors and characters are going to be penalized for not being exciting, not having charisma or not giving good performances then Victor, St. Giggly, Chompers, Victoria, Kevin, Chloe, Daniel, Tucker & Aunt Jack all need to be heavily backburnered before Kristoff & Neil. I don't know why ya'll don't believe it. All the time when he wasn't being shown, was when he finish school for his degree. That's why they wasn't showing him for years. This isn't exactly a SORAS, but they're obviously retooling the character. Everything else fits. Now if it is someone new, great, but I highly doubt they'll want another new black actor on the show.
