GH: Discussion for the Month of April

I know she is a popular actress but on this show she's a terrible & with Michael its hard for me to watch..Together they are awful...I enjoyed Anna's scenes.

KA was never a popular actress however her character was. And the minute Starr grew into a young adult and TPTB were determined to make her a lead by shoving her on the frontburner with storyline after storyline, all of which she could not handle, people were sick of her. GH fans couldn't care less about OLTL characters no matter how "popular" they are. Watching this invasion is ridiculous and this is coming from a former McBain fan.

I think Anna said she was on loan to the FBI when she was in the WSB. In any case, I think it's good to connect John to an establish GH character.

in any case there still is no time accountable in her history for her to have been mentoring John. Anna was on the show throughout the mid to late 80s. As mentioned, John was already connected to Sonny. This Anna connection is contrived and makes no sense as it ignores her own personal timeline. I guess thats okay since its as if the AMC years never happen, so Im guessing her being amnesiac and thought dead for the bulk of the 90s is when she allegedly must have been mentoring John rolleyes.gif

This is a great post. To add to it it's even worse they are pairing her with irritating Michael played by an actor too dull to be a lead

Anna came to town in 1985. She could have mentored John before that. It would be a little hard to believe, since in 1984 i guess John would only be around 17/18...But it could be.

Considering the cost of hiring Howarth and Easton, I would think that atleast a couple of GH castmates have to go. I have always been surprised that Johnny lasted this long.

I cheered when Robin told AJ. Unfortunately, those three losers still got Michael. Yet I am comforted that they cannot hide from the fact that they ruined his life.

I cheered too. I didn't know Robin had it in her until she did it. It's too bad when she came back to GH, Guza had her apologize to Jason and tell him she did it to get back at him for cottage hell. Just another instance where Guza rewrote GH so St. Jason was perfect.

Jason was always held up to be such a moralist, but what he did with Michael was anything but moral. It proved how badly brain-damaged Jason was when he thought Carly was a fit mother.

As for money to pay Howarth and Easton, GH freed up a chunk of change when they fired Tyler Christopher and Ingo Rademacher, the latter of which was a stupid move because Ingo was one of the few attractive non-mobette men on GH. All of the big earners on the GH cast took big hits to their overblown salaries this year to pay for the OLTL invasion.

So I'm still 4 episodes behind, but I just had to watch the Heather/Sam scenes on GH because Heather is one of my all time favorite characters, and RM is one of my all time favorite soap actresses. The scenes were really good. Yes, we all knew it was coming, but RM never fails to impress. I can't wait for her to get out of Ferncliffe and cause trouble.

Someone also uploaded most of her 2004 return on youtube. I sat down and re-watched it. Other than the fact that it was based on a silly retconned ONS, DAMN was it a good story. Skye's stalker, Laura was missing, Bobbie and Lesley ACTUALLY involved in a storyline. It was really very good. But the whole idea of WHY Heather was so obsessed with Luke was just bizarre. Other than that, it was great.

I'm hoping this time they won't have Heather wearing that stupid jean jacket. During her last return they had her wearing that ugly [!@#$%^&*] jacket in every scene, no matter what she was wearing underneath.

Anna was a criminal or con artist in the few years before we first saw her, I think. I guess she might have been with the WSB before then but that would have been in the late 70's.

Between this, forgetting Leora, and pretending she and Luke are old friends, the show just doesn't seem to care about the character or her past. She's there solely to make John and Luke seem less worthless. No wonder Finola is phoning it in.

Like you said, John would have been a teen in those early years which is completely unbelievable. Him being a cop at that age is a stretch. A federal FBI agent? Give me a break.

Besides per-1985 she was a double agent. Her identity and affiliation was supposed to be secret. Why would the WSB compromise that by exposing her to some rookie in the FBI? It makes little sense no matter how you slice it

Anna was a very young double agent in 1978. She met and married Robert in a matter of a couple of weeks. Robert found out she was a double agent and that was the end of her WSB days. She was a fence until she came to Port Charles in 1985. Then we saw her turn "good" and was onscreen until 1992. So, again, when did Anna mentor John McBain? It couldn't have been in 1978 because Anna was too young herself - not to mention how young John McBain was. Then she was out of the WSB and fencing until 1985 so it couldn't have been then. Then we saw her on screen until 1992 so it couldn't have been then. Then she had amnesia so it couldn't have been then. Hmm.

Oh yea. Another rewrite. Zzz.

I empathize with longtime General Hospital fans. I've only been a daily GH viewer since the turn of the century and even I'm insulted by the lack of respect the Anna Devane character's history is being given. And I wasn't even a huge Anna fan when she was on AMC (I liked Alex better).

I wonder if John and Felicia were lovers? Maybe he will end up being Maxie's father and help save her from herself

Or we'll find out that the Felicia that gave birth to Maxie isn't even the real Felicia. She was a doppleganger sent in by Faison after he kidnapped the real one.

I heard that Audrey Hardy is John's biological mother, Monica Quartermaine is his twin sister from another mother, he once had an affair with Carly Jax when she was going by the name Caroline Benson, and when they were five years old, shared a pudding pack with Alexis Davis at prep school.

This basically makes John a GH veteran...
