I am jewish and I probably would have lowered my head. I don't even know if anyone is up there listening but it can't hurt and maybe it makes her kid feel better. I didn't see it as a religious thing, it never dawned on me I was watching a religious moment. Not being religious doesn't mean one is anti-religious, and this just seems like a custom that when in Rome do like the romans do. At least that is how I go with religion. If you put me in a church I will say the appropriate prayer for whoever died. If I am at a temple, I will say the hebrew prayer. I think the most important thing is not what my religion is but what the dead person's religion was. And if they had no religion then there should be no prayer.

ITA quartermainefan. And Whitney was raised in the church, the church in which her mother is still a choir director. LL did start the prayer with "Heavenly Father", but that imo is pretty universal speak for God even if he had the God of Christianity in mind. I really don't want to get OT, but it's interesting to me how all shows of religion/belief in a higher power have become such awkward, seat-shifting/eye-rolling moments. I mean, I get it when you're a rapper thanking your Lord & Savior Jesus Christ for your hit single "I Want a 'Bust All Up in Her Booty' Kinda Bitch", but I remember how some fans got so uncomfortable when Jonathan Jackson would thank J.C. when he won his Emmys for example.

well stuff like that always makes me want to ask "so Jonathan, why do you think Jesus wanted the other guy to lose?" Every athlete who wins insists Jesus was on their side, but that means he was actively rooting against the other guy. That would be pretty cool if Jesus had a TV somewhere and checked out the acting reels and made the call, but I am gonna need more research on that.

I never understand comments that say awards show are boring because I see them for every single awards show. LOL I love award shows! LOL

Though I do like Nicki Minaj's music, I thought her performance was horrible and so was her song (she has better songs on her album, so I have no idea why she chose one of the worst songs). I think that type of performance is more suited for the MTV Music Awards where it's geared toward the younger crowd and the performances are more outragerous.

Adele winning was obvious but well deserved.

I thought my Taylor Swift looked great and actually sounded good on television for once. LOL

Who/what was that act with the crazy mouse look and people were wearing the mouse ears? That was interesting.

I thought J-Hud tribute to Whitney was pretty good.

The guitar jam session at the end was so cool!

Just saw Minaj's performance. My cable was going out last night. Uhm, the acting in it was really bad, but I like that she put effort into doing something potentially interesting. A for effort, but C-/D for the whole idea and performance.

    • I watched another batch of episodes and I have a sense of dread. I fear they are setting up a murder storyline with one of my favorite characters as the victim. I don't know if that would be considered a spoiler so won't reveal the character. If that's so, i will be extremely disappointed as this person has done Emmy caliber work and would create such a void on the show.  If I'm right, I think I know who the suspect will be and I would rather the suspect be murdered.  Joel Crothers's Miles has had more of a presence with his wife Nicole and I enjoy both actors. Crothers is just so yummy and charismatic. Don't know who plays Nicole but I like their relationship.  Ann Williams has been phenomenal as Margo. Margo is desperate to keep Eliot and make April happy. Williams had a nice scene with Kibbee's Geraldine about Logan and the baby. Eliot has been so slimy and menacing but he's so watchable. April and Draper are still fighting over the baby and something has happened to April to land her in the hospital. I just keep hoping she'll kick Draper out. The man is such a pain. Raven needs to come back and sleep with him. She can liven him up. Ann Flood and Frances Fisher had a wonderfully written scene where Deborah confesses her feelings for Owen. The writing and acting for this scene was first-rate. I want more of Flood. It's good to see Fisher getting more to do. Steve and his low cut shirts have been sidelined lately. The writers are setting up a Deborah/Nola confrontation.  Paige and Brian are still pretty much an afterthought. The movie plot is coming along nicely and there was a great episode where Margo had a party for the movie at her penthouse. Still enjoying the show.
    • See, I imagine it as some kind of "private" room within a bigger casino.
    • I like Nicole for several reasons, she has all the good attributes and qualities of a good person. You have to be a huge hater to dislike someone like her. I consider Dani an underdog. She had a lot to live up to and she hasn't contributed to the family name imo. Naomi and Martin seem to had more flourishing careers than she has.  She might've had a long marriage, but Bill cheated on her left and right. I am sure they had some good times, but I wouldn't call it a great marriage or anything to brag about. She modeled for what 2/3 years? That's not that successful, especially if she didn't pivot to something more lucrative. And that is the real reason she plays momanger cause she is living through Chelsea. Dani is nothing without her family name. Nicole doesn't need the Dupree; she made her own mark! And that's what you should do when you're born with privilege, flip that [!@#$%^&*]! The opportunity is there for the writers to play up her insecurities and resentment issues, but will they? There must've been a reason for her to choose Bill over someone with more status, or coming from another wealthy family. Right?  I don't expect everyone to understand her, but I do, and probably would've made her a more screw up and didn't amount to much outside having some kids.  The lack of crossover from the in-laws always bothered me, too. I hope at some point we get some family dinners. I know it's not earth-shattering entertainment, but I'm a sucker for those scenes. And you can still move the story along, too! I forgot all about my boo Jacob, and he was on today. He, for some reason, reminds me of Garfield the cat!

You're right about that hetero bio son Dupree, though.
    • The casino set needs to be upgraded or needs to go. Why would anyone rich spend their time in the wood paneled 1960’s room instead of just playing cards in what I assume is the normal nice looking casino area.
    • It wasn't his first appearance, though; per the end credits, he is a principal guest star (a.k.a. recurring).
    • Vanessa was flirty with Smitty, and it was weird. Smitty didn't think anything about it was cute or fun. The sex talk between Cody and Vanessa at Orphey Gene's? Also weird af. We needed either a longer scene or another scene to make any of that work. Vanessa is coming off like a nymphomaniac. Forced for plot convenience, just as it was when we saw Eva (HUH???) in that casino backroom. Sorry, none of this casino stuff works. I thought the same thing -- I enjoyed all the different character groupings, but the dialogue was not natural and didn't flow. Yep, kinda weird. I don't get it. Of course, I also don't get the discussion of not having Doug as the surgeon. Is he the only doctor anyone trusts? Then we have June's entire heart procedure talked about, performed, and over within 20 minutes of screen time. -- Cady McClain gives us a different variation of that accent every time she appears. The dialogue between Pamela and Dani is too cute by half. -- BTG, please stop mentioning Martin's run for the presidency. -- I hope we're not going to see Ted soften towards Dana and be taken in by her line of bull. She just blew up his life, and I don't want to see him sympathize with her in any way.
    • Agree.  But I would describe him as being disappointed not bitter.
    • >>><<< Great minds!  Kat certainly does prove that point. She's been given a lot to work with, so we shouldn't be bored of her anytime soon. I am interested in all her storylines at the moment, and curious how the show will use the affair to impact her romances and business stories. Well, what movie was it? Cause… I noticed it too. The first couple of seconds of the song were slightly different. OMG! Great call, precisely the same situation.
    • I think Kin was dissatisfied at GH in as much as Scotty had been pushed aside for Luke/Laura and the writing was doing him no favors as Scotty was now seen as an obstacle to their romance. So with his contract up he was offered big $$$ to move to Texas, which you can't blame him for. In addition to the money, I recall he was promised that Jeb would be a more dynamic character than Scotty. The money came through but not the story, so  don't blame him for being  slightly bitter.
