Viki seems needy and neurotic in this period - I don't care for all that about her lies about the heart defect because Joe just can't take the pain. It's all bad melodrama.

They should have kept his child with Cathy - imagine the drama that would have provided in later years.

Yes there was no doubt that Dorian killed Victor in 1976. She wanted his money all for herself. "Tori" didn't have to kill him because he was practicly dead after Dorian witiheld his medication. Dorian would have made sure he never recovered. It was fitting though that Robin Strasser really pushed for Dorian to be "dress-up diva" and flaunt her wealth. even in those recaps from the 70's, it clearly said Dorian really wanted all of victor's "beutiful money" to herself. From the time Robin came on until she left in 2011, she proved she was still living as Mrs. Lord, with "millions from heaven."

I hate that they brought Victor back in 2003. I still say it could have been an evil twin. The real Victor died in 1976 when Dorian and Tori killed him. If the show lasted forever, they would have eventually brought Asa back as a recast. I truly beleive that.

When I first really got into OLTL during the Lord o the Banner/DID era, I asked my mom a bunch of questions about Dorian as she quickly became my favorite character. She remarked that the first Dorian dressed kind of frumpy/dowdy and wasn't quite the glamorpuss we knew Robin's Dorian to be. I found this interesting when I eventually read an interview where Robin said that she was responsible for that aesthetic change in the character. I talked about this a few years ago on WoST, and a poster who had actually been around during those years like my mom added that the glam factor wouldn't have exactly been an in character/period appropriate choice for a professional woman in the seventies, let alone a doctor, which I thought was a valid point. Even though Robin's Dorian predates Dynasty, I think that show had a huge impact on professional women and young girls who wanted to make something of themselves; women and girls who valued glamor, and the idea of glamor in the work place.

Was Claire Malis' big story the triangle with peter and Melinda? And to what degree was Melinda the "baddie" in that threesome opposed to Dorian, or was Dorian still the heavy, Melinda merely "disturbed"? I know they were trying to soften Dorian during this time, hence the recast to begin with. We Love Soaps should do a Claire Malis interview.

    • Thanks @P.J. If my math is correct, Jordan Clarke runs were 1983-1987, 1989-1993, 1997-end.
    • I was/am mainlining both the Dream Season and Season 7 of KL together, since that was the year of their big creative swap. That's the most I can take of Dallas consecutively. But I've been very preoccupied with other shows and work IRL and I need to get back to it after a long break from my Knots binge.
    • Wk 1 95/96 MSW moves to Thurs, Cybill takes the Sunday slot. Thurs 8-9pm NBC Friends #3 20.5/33 The Single Guy #6 19.2/30 CBS Murder She Wrote #55 9.3/15 ABC Charlie Grace #74 7.6/12 FOX Living Single # 78 7.2/12 The Crew #80 7.0/11 Sunday 8-9pm NBC Mad about You # 15 14.6/23 Hope & Gloria #35 11.7/18 ABC Lois & Clark # 38 11.4/18 CBS Cybill #49 9.8/15 Almost Perfect #65 8.1/12 FOX Space Above & Beyond (2nd hr of 2hr episode) #51 9.5/15 60 Minutes was #19 so a lot of viewers didn't stay for Cybill. On Sunday, Sept. 24, CBS finished third on the night, and its performance among 18 -49 year olds was worse than it was with the older skewing Murder, She Wrote in the time period last year.  So moving MSW was a foolish move at that point. It was compatible with 60 Minutes and would probably have finished Top 20-25 for the week. They should have left Sunday alone and concentrated on other nights..
    • I’ve been watching Knots and FC rather compulsively for a while now. Currently in fall 1983 with both. I had Dallas in there, too, but I am rather shocked at how stale that show gets after Jock’s death. Meanwhile, I can spend hours in the vineyards and in the cul-de-sac.
    • What will actually change though? Does this mean the sets will be different too? Or how exactly is this gonna look like to the viewers?
    • I'm not sure Passions is the model to emulate here.
    • Passions had Chad sleeping with his cousin nephew Vincent, ironically played by Daphne Duplaix (disguised as Valerie)

    • @Errol confirmed JFP is back in a non-producing role.
    • Same tbh. His brother got all the attention as he got older and hotter but Eric I like best. I need to get back to this show.
    • *watching season 5* Me: “I wish they did more with Eric, he’s so cute and sweet.” *Eric slaps the piss out of Diana* Me: “Godddddd, I love Eric!!!!”
