I saw something years ago where NYPD Blue does interiors in L.A., but shot location stuff in the city.

NYPD Blue shot the entire series on the Fox lot. Interiors and exteriors. They'd send skeleton crews out twice a year to shoot some 2nd Unit stuff.

Never mind the unions, there's simply just no space to shoot unless they shoot out on Long Island -- like Gossip Girl and 30 Rock (ex-Sopranos, SATC, Ugly Betty).

You can't tell me that they couldn't have flown out two actor/actresses from OLTL so that they could do this Castle. I was hoping for Erika Slezak and Robin Strasser, that would have been fabulous to see.

they could have but that would have incurred additional expenses which isnt necesary. As others said, AMC is taped in LA and OLTL isnt. Its cheaper and still works into the soap theme the episode is going for
