Members Khan
Galen Gering as Nick...and Amelia Heinle STILL as Victoria. If that isn't some kind of fresh hell.... He always looks as if he's just waiting 'til his dealer shows up.
Members kalbir
Amelia Heinle has been employed for almost 17 years. She's another one we're stuck with until Y&R ends. To think some soap names thrown around in 2005 for Victoria were Sarah Brown and Christie Clark. Edited January 30, 2022 by kalbir
Members Paul Raven
Everytime I watched Gina as Phyllis, I wished she had have been cast as Victoria.
Members YRfan23
If Galen Gering did indeed become Nick, I’m sure they would have eventually recast Lindsay Hartley as Victoria.. Members Khan
Prompting Y&R to tell the first-of-its'-kind "Who's the Mommy?" story.
Members kalbir
That is stunt casting totally up MAB's alley.
Members soapfan770
The bad thing is after seeing Lindsay’s work on other soaps she would’ve been miles ahead of anything Heinle’s done.
Members YRfan23
Yep! She has a habit of making characters really come alive, like when she filled in for Kelly Monaco a couple years ago on GH! If only either of the Bell soaps had better writing I could see her playing a decent character. I honestly do think she’d make a better Victoria then Heinle!
Members Khan
No, stunt casting up her alley would be Michael J. Fox as Nick and Justine Bateman as Victoria. Perhaps. On the other hand, Lindsay Hartley has a distinctly ethnic look, for lack of a better word. I think viewers would have a hard time accepting her as EB and MTS's biological daughter.
Members kalbir
@Khan Oh yeah, I forgot about MAB's love of former sitcom actors.
Members Khan
And family sitcoms, in particular, it seems. I mean, it wasn't as if she hired Rhea Perlman ("Cheers") to play Esther's long-lost sister or anything, lol.
Members RavenWhitney
Who played Claire and Robert? Is the actress Brooke Bundy? I can't recall the actor's name but I know he was on days. Y&R was mostly unwatchable in 1982. Awful except for Kay, Nikki and Victor. Took Bell a while to find his footing in the hour long format for that show.
Members Broderick
Seems like Suzanne Zenor played Claire, and Peter Brown was Robert. (Bell had worked with them both on "Days", I think.)
Members Planet Soap
I'm now beginning to appreciate how revolutionary, so to speak, Y&R was in the 70s. I didn't consider the real luxury look of the show coming in until about the mid 80s. Studying deeper you realize how good the show looked at least by the mid 70s compared to the other dramas that were on the air, and how much faster paced it was.
Members Soaplovers
I think the only tie that Leslie/Robert had to the 'new' YR was that Robert's daughter Angela was friends with Traci.. and that Leslie helped Victor with Nikki's 'My Fair Lady' story. I do wonder if maybe Bell could have had Robert as socializing with John Abbott due to their daughter's being friendly.. while playing up on Jill/Leslie's past history. I think had Jamie Lynne Bauer not opted to quit, Bell would have kept Lorie and carried her over to the new Y& R. From watching a few episodes in the spring 1982, it seemed like Lorie/Robert were tested as a couple and maybe when she opted to leave, Bell opted to plop Leslie into that story.. when it didn't seem to make sense.
