Reading about all this OTT stuff makes me wonder how Lorraine Broderick would have done had she gotten the chance 😂

Given what I know of her track record, I think LB might have kept up with the outlandish ideas -- after all, like it or not, that had become DAYS' trademark -- but maybe with a renewed emphasis on character.  Salemites would still do screwy things, but maybe we'd understand better WHY.

https://whathappensinsalem.wordpress.com/2014/10/29/wtf-wednesday-virtual-eden/     I can't properly explain it either. But the person that wrote this blog does a good job. Sorry i took so long to answer. I was searching for clips. But there are none.

I feel like Kirsten was considered a bit of a 'get' back then because of her Disney channel fame.  I swear if I didn't read about it in SOD I would have been shocked when it happened.  And the "Oh my you've grown!" when they returned from their honeymoon.  Ewww....

I thought it was more of a disagreement over how much the teens were used, not so much their introduction.  I think they had very different ideas of what they wanted.

I mean the Last Blast Crew must have been more popular than I thought if there was a Saturday Morning Spinoff being bandied about.

The Virtual Garden of Eden stuff with Greta/Austin.   I would try to explain it, but I can't.

Thank you.

What i remember about Daniel's death was that Days actual used the ER set. When Daniel was rushed to University Hospital. But it didn't have enough money to show the car crash.😂

Probably because they used all the money to use that John Legend song for Naniel to dance to once in the pub 😬

And let's not forget when they found enough pennies under the couch for Bo and Hope's last dance "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love" 😂

That's my blog! It still irks the hell out of me how many old clips are gone. What I wouldn't give to watch that coronation massacre now and again...

They actually had Ciara and Ben reference the Virtual Eden story on Beyond Salem, which got me nervous that Ron would decide to do a redux.

The full episodes of that used to be posted, but I think they were all taken down in that really big purge a few years ago.

Yeah, I remember them being available, and then there was that huge wipe and everything was gone. So frustrating.

Other than the Last Blast dance that year of Chloe’s video, evil Lexie, and the Kiriakis mansion fire with Kate’s comeuppance Days was terrible in 2001.

Days in 2001 tried to be all things--love stories, family stories, teen stories, social issues, crime stories, murder mysteries, evil twins, cheap stunts, and the kind of bizarre plot twists that seem uniquely Days. It was a foolish to mix all these ingredients and expect it to work. But, in an era of ever-decreasing ratings, and trigger-happy networks, Corday & Langan instituted a plan they thought would hold onto the viewers of the Reilly-era, but also keep the more traditional soap viewers. They failed. BIG time. They wanted an everysoap--they got a mess.

Hey, don't knock that!  That song was SEMINAL in Bo and Hope's story!

Corday and Langan were nothing if not ambitious, lol.  But I feel like a much stronger HW or Co-HW could have made all those disparate stories work.

I'm not knocking that song. I was just surprised they were able to find those pennies for the song.
