That a 2 million drop in viewers though...not good....lets see what next week brings....will the ratings stay stable.......or will they continue to drop?

There are rumors that there will be a Season 15 of Dallas or Season 2 of Dallas 2.0.

#1 for the night isn;t so bad. It's a far cry from the 80s audience but this is the new reality.

I don't know how to feel about this news. I want it to happen, of course. But does this mean we're stuck with these writers?

For me, it's an issue, because Gary always has been the one who cared most about Southfork, not J.R. or even Bobby. That's why J.R. always considered Gary "weak," because while he was off wildcatting with Jock and his cronies, Gary was happier being under his mama on old man Southworth's land.

Also, this is DALLAS, not FALCON CREST. They really need to save the whole "The land, always the land" jive for the Channings and Giobertis.

A lot of cable shows with this level of promotion have had higher. This isn't a show like Mad Men that can afford bad ratings, so the drops don't seem good.

meh it's not that bad, it's true ALL shows drop, now if it loses over half it's audience next week, then I'll agree it's not good.

It's damn good for a continuation of a series that first aired over 30 years ago

They're not going based on a rerun of 30 years ago, it's supposed to be a hot new show, with sexy young pieces of melting plastic, and heavy promotion.

I think it would be very wise for all you guys to do the weekly Dallas survey after each episode. You can give your opinion on everything from character to the story and they ask interesting questions. If TNT is seriously paying to the fans comments it could really go a long way.

You are so pessimistic. Why do you think Mad Men can afford bad ratings but Dallas can't? They're both basic cable. Dallas's ratings are not bad by any barometer. It was the #1 cable show last week, and it was the #1 cable show last night. I believe last week it was just flat out the #1 show in its timeslot cable or broadcast. TNT is not going to cancel this so fast nor should they.

What cable shows with this level of promotion have had higher? Leave HBO shows out of it, we are talking basic cable. I think Mad Men's audience is approximately half what Dallas' is and I bet their budget is higher being a period piece.

Someone mentioned that shows like The Closer get much better ratings.

Mad Men is critically acclaimed, so the ratings don't matter to AMC. Dallas is supposed to be watercooler and buzzed about.
