The highlight was Agnes Nixon's award--even if they only showed .5 seconds of Loving. It's a shame they couldn't devote as much time to her co-creation ATWT?!?!

That fact that GH was robbed (because production wise it was by far the best though the actual content sucked) made it that much sweeter. GH was the favorite and they lost. I'm so anti-JFP, my mantra was "anyone but GH to win." :)

OKAY NOW AS I WAS SAYING... <_<

I thought they wasted a lot of time of things like The Lion King, Blue Man Group, Cirque Du Soleil, the ad for the Hilton Hotel.

Was that what we had to sit through to get these shows televised? Ugh--I love Broadway but this isn't the Tony Awards.

I would blame the writer of the awards ceremony for Regis's jokes, not Regis. They weren't that bad, I was more offended by David Letterman's stuff and Alex Trebek's weird comment about Regis's health. The Lucci comment was meant to say Lucci is too thin, I think, although it didn't come across well.

.

Did anyone else find the fact Letterman thought it was funny to call Regis "gay" in extremely poor taste--especially given the audience I'm sure the show got??

If I was Peter Bergman I might start to worry. With him losing his Emmy and Billy winning his, the show may actually phase him out.

I'm convinced that when the voters were voting for Drew Tyler Bell they meant to vote for Drew Garrett.

I was SO SO SO busy that I missed most of it. Did I see a clip of La Lucci dancing with Elvis? Can someone post that?

ETA:

Oh, it was Chubby Checker.

GH ain't deserved [!@#$%^&*]. People complain and complain about how much that show sucks and how it makes one or two episodes a year in order to impress the Emmy judges, yet when the Emmys roll around, it's all "GH deserves to win because it was the best." B&B beat them at their own game this year, and with an episode that didn't involve a car crash, train crash, bus crash, helicopter crash, stock market crash, blood, guts, and violence. I bet Bob and Jill went to bed with hemorrhoids.

Preach it. I'm high fiving you for this post. Brad Bell owned Guza and JFP's asses for two years in a row. I hope he pulls it off again next year. I rather B&B win than that pile of pooh GH.

I can't help it Julie Pinson rubs me the wrong way, and did others thank Goutman, cause I know she did, I don't think MW did. Billy Warlock

Alot of pointless crap: Blue Man group, Lion King, etc.....like someone said, soaps took a backseat.

Is Julie Pinson pregnant? I noticed she kept walking with her hand across her tummy as if to hold it up. Her dress was also very loose

ITA, i think she would have fit in much beetter on that show...B&B really seems, more so than any other show to me, to have a real "type" of actors, and a certain feel to the show that doesn't suit all actors. And I think SJB fell victim to it here.

the storylines on B&B are so over the top. She is more subtle and Sandy seems out of place as a result. B&B works with bad actors. Kind of weird to say but thats kinda the truth. The show is very campy and so bad that its good. It has a few gems but overall the cast is among the worst in daytime. I think Sarah's too good for it.

Okay, I just have to add that I LOVE Rhonda Friedman. I just kept re-watching B&B winning best show and she's just so freaking excited that its contagious. She just gives me this giddy feeling. LOL!

And was the pissed off lady standing next to who I think was Lee Philip Bell the Y&R writer?

She did - I want her on B&B as NuKristen.

No. That role should be reserved for Brenda Epperson. Besides, I wouldn't wish B&B on Maura. Send her to Y&R or DAYS.

Word, Ann! I hope Brad, or any other show, pulls it off. I just love seeing JFP lose, especially when GH's episodes are always violent/some big production stunt.

And that's just the thing, too! It's *always* some violent, destructive sh!t. Brad and company, and you can say whatever you want about them, took an entirely different approach, and if Bob and Jill weren't so full of themselves, they'd take notice of that. ALL the soaps would be wise to take notice of that, and not just as a one-shot Emmy bait episode, either.
