Wiggy Wonder laugh.png You and these names for Kim LMAO

Just finished watching BH. I started from the Dinner Party and watched all of Season 2.Camille Grammer is god, Kim is a loveable pill popping alcoholic, her sister is kind of a c-nt, Taylor and Adrienne don't matter, Brandi is 6'7 and has no filter and Lisa is the HBIC.

Lisa is EVERYTHING. I stan for her, NeNe and Teresa now. wub.png

Its the best RH series all year! The production values are top notch and all the women add alot to the series

Agreed on the gay friend. He was very annoying

Well Jody is the queen of mean as far as this show goes. As bad as she may seem now, she gets WORSE.

Love Jody! My absolute favorite of the bunch

Glad you liked it. BH is amazing. In season 1, I loved them all except Camille and Shana (Taylor's real name).

Not only do I like you in LAHH ATL discussions... you're my other half when it comes to TRH series. I just can't stan for people. I get way too much secondhand embarrassment from them on LJ and I always end up laughing when they get dragged. It's just not that serious for me ... I like who I like.

By the end of Season 1, though, I really liked Camille, and I was one of the few that adored her in Season 2. I pretty much agree with Eric's assessment also.

RHOM

I'm Team Joanna, though I hate Karent. But I hate Adriana even more. She is the most immature, obnoxious, grating Housewife of them all, maybe of any series. I agree that Karent doesn't know how to behave socially, but Adriana certainly isn't the one who should be giving a lecture on it.

I LOVE Lea- I don't know why, but I think she and I would get along famously IRL, again, probably moreso than any housewife on any series. Marysol I can't stand one minute, and love the next. I about DIED when she and Joe Francis cut off Lisa's "The moral of the story is..." line immediately with "Don't say anything around Karent" (Marysol) and "Stay away from Karent, she's the devil" (Joe Francis). HILARIOUS! Throw in her calling Karent "the carrier pigeon" and calling Lea over (in her feathers) when Karent was berating her about the wearing fur and Marysol was the official comic relief tonight, which was a nice break from her usual wimpy victim self. I actually think Joanna set Karent up for the fur conversation though- she had to know Karent would go running over there after she had that dramatic reaction to the Marysol's outfit. Marta was clearly rolling on ecstacy at this party- it's painfully obvious. I think she was in the Mynt episode as well. Her cracking up when Joanna was talking about Joe Francis was PRICELESS! IMO, she was laughing because she knows they both slept with him and probably were both high end escorts in LA.

I really like Alexia and feel for her. I understood her going off on Karent at the party- her nerves are frayed from what's going on in her home life as it is so she has zero patience for Karent's boorishness. Yes, she got more than a little extreme with her at the party, but I get it. If a mere acquaintance who'd never even met my son threw "Didn't I pray for your son and reach out to you?" in my face at MY company's party, bitch would be done.

I like Ana a lot also, though her relationship with her ex is a little off, as is her strange obsession with Rudolfo. Are these women dumb or stupid? Karent is a beard (and doesn't know it)- Rudolfo's gay as all hell. He totally pings for me and that weird tongue thing he did with Karent SCREAMED closeted gay and his beard. He's actually probably running around town with men and letting them all think it's women he's cheating with.

But the biggest surprise for me this season has been Lisa. I thought she was going to be a trashy ho pretending to be a society maven. Man, was I wrong. She is easily the most real of the bunch, clearly knows herself the best, and behaves the classiest. She's another one I think I could be BFFs with IRL.

Besides the main cast and the fresh dynamics between them, there are a couple other things that add SO much to this show and appeal to me as a soap fan. First, they EASILY have the largest supporting cast of any Real Housewives series. You've got Mama Elsa, Romain, Ejames Lancaster, Marta Krupa. that OTT Thomas guy who we're sure to see again, RJ (Lea's awkward kid), Frankie, Alexander (don't like him- Adriana's boyfriend), and now BB6 Beau Beau and Joe Francis have been added to the cast. It's like watching an ensemble soap. In fact, the soaps should be taking notes on how to weave in an ensemble cast because everyone I mentioned is in almost every episode and I feel like I know them all and have kept up with them. It's a far more developed supporting cast than any other Housewives franchise and it adds so much to the show.

The other thing I LOVE is how it's SO Miami. Everything from the scoring, the locations (which have been literally all over town), the colors, the clothes, the night life- it SCREAMS Miami. They capture the city far better than NYC, Atlanta, and Beverly Hills. (OC and NJ I'd consider more suburban- one is Knots Landing, the other The Brothers and Sisters Soprano) Plus, the mansions are serious money- Lisa's is especially gorge, with that beautiful Spanish influenced architecture. Plus you have Lea's posh mansion, Adriana's and Alexia's on the water, Ana's suburban household, and Romain & Joanna's typical South Beach million dollar high rise apartment- each type of home/lifestyle is represented. I love the city of Miami and I feel like I'm actually there every time I watch.

I hope the ratings spike this week for this drama-filled 2 part event and start trending up for the rest of the season because they deserve it. Andy Cohen seems to love it so I hope that BRAVO brings it back regardless. Really, what's hurting it is it's airing along with 2 other very popular series- 1st NYC and NJ, and now ATL and BH and it's not easy to keep up with 3 of these shows at once (I do just fine- I can't get enough, but everyone's not me). I'm hoping that since Miami is standing alone this week and is hitting its first dramatic peak of the season that it will get a boost.

Oh, and Karent CLEARLY set up Joe Francis. All he said was he dated both of them, SHE was the one who asked if he slept with both of them too. Karent is a lot of things, but she's not dumb. She had to know Joe was going to say yes whether it was true or not. No sooner did he say that she was dragging him over to Joanna and telling her what he just said. She failed to mention that she was the one who instigated it. I wonder how Joanna is going to feel about Karent after seeing that last night. I wonder if she's bright enough to see through what Karent was doing.

    • I actually thought he came off as younger. It's so hard to buy Martin as Nicole and Ted's son unless they had him when they were 12.
    • @chrisml Isn't remarkable that, on a soap whose brand is built on twists and mysteries, that Raven's last straw was as simple as Logan saying that she was incapable of loving Jamey.  In the episode when Raven exit's and leaves Jamey with April, I can remember feeling the subtext that Raven is also trying to talk herself into leaving him behind.  There's so much in that little scene.  She's trying to stick it to Logan for saying she was a bad mother.  She's both granting April's wish, and damning her with the old adage of being careful what she wished for.  And, she's hinting to Draper that she's going to boff his father. It remains my favorite scene, and it still blows my mind that was not the end of that episode.
    • Oh lord not Drew just figured out it was both Nina and Portia that set him up. Willow WILL never leave this man.
    • And in addition to Patti being de-aged, she was no longer a nurse, divorced from Len(fair enough) and her two children were not seen and barely mentioned. So basically she was a totally new character. For newer viewers it didn't matter but any loyal viewers would have been wondering about all the changes with Patti. Sarah Whiting always puzzled me. The writers finally decide to acknowledge Jo's family and do so by making up a never mentioned adopted teen. Why not just bring in Tracey, Jo's actual grandaughter? As for Liza, perhaps it would have been wise to rest the character when Sherry left. They were big shoes to fill and her Liza was so identified with Travis. I don't recall what was going on in the story at that time but if they knew Sherry was leaving, write it so Liza would leave town to care for an ailing Janet and take a breather with the character for a few months.
    • Ahh interesting. Yeah, that's sad for A-M. I will say, he and Nick became fast friends when Susan started working at Spaulding. A-M/Lucy/Nick/Susan had a lot of double dates in those 7 months. A-M was Nick's best man at his wedding to Susan, which now that I think about it, is odd that he wouldn't have considered Fletcher. I remember those two were so close at the paper, and even living together with Ben. Once Tangie left SF, Nick left the paper, and Fletcher/Holly were rarely seen... so I guess they felt that friendship wasn't shown often enough anymore (which again, lazy writing).
    • I honestly don't think Alan-Michael ever really had a friend on the show. Maybe Cameron or Samantha, but otherwise... *Cameron was a high school friend who ended up dating teenage Dinah after she broke up with A-M. Samantha is Phillip's biological sister, who A-M treated like a sister. Interestingly enough, they were born the same week on the show in 1981, but A-M ends up being older than her when she returns to town in '89.
    • I thought he was very cute too, and a likeable presence even though on paper Cliff was a prick. I wonder if he was well-liked by viewers or someone at the show as there's a point in these episodes where he could have been written out and was not.
    • I'm not a Derek fan at all (and not even all that much of an Ashley fan, but man has she become awful in their relationship--like she's not even trying.  But also I admit, I don't think I'd ever live with someone, even someone I was married to (I know they're not married) in a bachelor apartment unless I had to.  Even just a one bedroom would make a big difference.  I'd probably end up hiding in the bathroom a lot

    • Going back to this, I'm even more confused why Amanda would say that only a year later (lazy writers), because I'm watching April 29, 1996 right now and literally all of the current on-air Spauldings (Alan, Alex, Amanda, A-M) and Coopers (Buzz, Lucy, Frank, Eleni) are on a plane together for Lucy/A-M's wedding. Along with Reva (which right now makes sense because she's married to Buzz), Dahlia (so out of place, but by default because they can't let a high school kid they just took in stay home alone), and a very random Rick (he's barely had any interaction with any of these characters all year haha).  It's like a madhouse on that plane, which is pretty comical because most of them don't get along... but they very much know each other. Still miffed that Bridget is totally forgotten here. And David. And Nick/Susan! Couldn't they have waited to fire them until after this wedding?  It was only like 2 months later. They had to make Alan be A-M's best man (which is wild to me) bc A-M doesn't even have any real friends on the show right now.
    • You're right and I do imagine many longtime viewers were put off. I suppose the show felt many of the longtime fans were gone, so in that sense I get it if the show had continued. They should have taken greater care with the generation below Patti. It's hard to remember she was meant to be mother to Sarah. I wonder if that is one of the reasons they killed Sarah before Patti arrived. Or were those different teams?
