  1. I have a really hard time seeing Joey Armstrong the way the show wants me to see him. I am not even sure if JL is the right actor for the character MVJ is writing. Ashley Jones was fine so far. In a world where Daphne Duplaix plays grandmother to grown ups, I might pretend to believe that Heather is Joey's sister.
  2. This. Writers used to get inspired by classic books, classic plays and classic films. These days when it is not a joke or a parody, or something "campy" or crazy, we get random stories which could have been written by AI. Which of today's stories will be a classic in twenty years? Which story is important for the show's future? Giving each character ten kids isn't it.
  3. I feel like those older Facebook people who had a hard time with any kind of change. Everything was so easy and familiar before lol. Now I am trying to see if I have missed any new posts or threads. But I get that I will have get used to it, right? SON has been my favorite message board for more than twenty years and I want the best for this community.
  4. I haven't seen a lot of Nadine, but for some reason I see her as a mix of early Opal Gardner and Nola Reardon (if she had ended up marrying someone like Floyd Parker).
  5. I am sorry but I can't see Roger Howarth portray a monster like Matt the same way he played his wacky GH characters. The episode looked fine, the stories are boring and/or stupid.
  6. I remember being nine years old and being obsessed with him as Myles Colby. He was gorgeous.
  7. I could never understand how Long and Kobe got so much power so soon and were allowed to do whatever they wanted with a successful soap. They only had a little experience working on a failure prior to that. GL was not a mess at the time, it didn't someone to take over and turn everything around. The Dobsons and Marland had done solid work with Allen Potter, their GL could have gone on for years. I hated everything about Long and Kobe's work. BTW had Pat Falken Smith stayed longer with the show, I am sure she would have brought a Stefano Dimera/Max Dubujack type for one of the show's leading ladies. (Perhaps Vanessa?) Perhaps Alan would have been her Stefano/Max.
  8. I remember watching new Lily and thinking that she returned as a Lauren Fenmore type. This was not the right return story for this character.
  9. Knowing Nicole, she had probably arranged something sexy with some new doctor from the hospital. In some weird way the show treats its main family like a sitcom family from the 80s. BTG has so many great things going on. This episode felt like a classic soap opera. I am glad that the early black B&B/telenovela "camp" is gone, but it needs something new to make the show really great. A new EP? A new co-HW? Something.
  10. I like Pinky as part of this group so far. She is different and is the not the typical fake diva "I am so rich and fabulous" HW with the Instagram aesthetics. She can be awkward, but in a fun way. Just like Angela, she reminds me of a different era of reality tv for some reason.
  11. ATL Kelli is just a fan who won a contest and got to film with the cast. Phaedra should have been a friend. K has no idea how to play the housewives game, she makes everyone miserable. Including the viewers. Shamea is... awkward and tries way too hard. Cynthia is GORGEOUS. The most beautiful housewife ever.
  12. BF and CK are so good together. He should have been a new character instead of Cane. The show won't even try to bring new characters anymore.
  13. So Holly was the Journal's owner at the time? Did she end up selling it?
  14. Kristina can get involved with any man or woman on the show and somehow this ends up being boring.
  15. I remember reading about Malone joining AW and I was ecstatic. It would be great to read someone's analysis on his work there.
  16. Dabney's Isabelle was Alice Horton with money, Holm was like Stephanie Forrester and Barry was Loving's version of Phoebe Tyler. Mundy would have been great though, too bad she left after the pilot. The show's casting was great at first. I loved Shannon Eubanks as regal Ann. The only parts that needed actors with a different energy were Roger and Merril.
  17. Danfling's Cancelled Soap Operas Board memories.
  18. Ι remember an episode with Ed and Kelly crying together, it looked as though they were breaking up. It seemed to me that someone had a lot of fun with the scene for a specific audience, knowing that the others would not even suspect what was implied.
  19. Elizabeth as their Pamela Capwell once Phillip was back? I could see that. They would probably bring Hope Bauer back as well.
  20. I never bought LW as Carly. For some reason in the past few years she has convinced me that she is playing the same character that SJB played in the 90s. She seems rougher, tougher and less like a generic blonde soap opera leading lady.
  21. That would be interesting, by that time the Dobsons were so different from their 70s material. One would never guess that they were the same writers. They would have fun with characters like Buzz, Nadine, Bridget for sure. Their Spauldings would become wackier and they might turn Alan-Michael into their Mason Capwell. Their Blake would probably not become boring and domesticated, she would have a fascinating dynamic with Holly. It would be fun to see what they would do with Roger.
  22. Wendy Riche or Linda Gottlieb as EP. Michael Malone. I liked Susan Bedsow-Horgan both as a writer and as an EP.
  23. Thank you so much. I loved Roya's Ava with Linden Ashby's Curtis.
  24. Amazing news, I adore Lauren Koslow.
