That's great JP, I was just letting Cheap know I disagreed with her assessment on that front. I'm also a gay black man, just throwing it out there before I get labeled anything.

Finally watching...This is not a good look for Cynthia, not one bit. Say what you will about Phaedra, but I do love that she and Kandi have a truly genuine friendship off camera and it shows onscreen.

Um why the !@#$%^&*] did Mal jump in at all?

Question. Where did you stand on the whole Brandi comment about Joyce being black because she can't swim? Do you feel she needed to apologize for it since she didn't MEAN for something to come across the way it did? Or like with Nene, do you feel since she "supposedly" didn't mean to imply anything negative by calling Brandon a she/queen/wearing a ball gown, that it's okay?

I think she should apologize for offending people, but I don't think she's at all racist and I don't think she meant that as racist. But yes, she should apologize if it offended anyone, just as Nene should.

So would your opinion of Nene change if she does not apologize? She has yet to do so and it's highly unlikely she will, just going off of everything else she believes she's blameless for. And how would you feel if Brandi hadn't apologized and rather downplayed the comments she had said?

No, my opinion of Nene would/will not change. Nobody's perfect, and like my original post said - I myself sometimes struggle with the same thing, which may be why I empathize with Nene on some level. I don't know how I would have felt re:Brandi, as I haven't been consistently watching. I'm glad she owned her mistake, but if she hadn't it wouldn't have made me hate her or anything like that.

I want to watch RHoA SO bad! But I'm at work. sad.png I can't believe this thread blew up just like it did two weeks ago -- but even better, that nobody went BSC. This is prob why I love posting here. Even when I post dumb [!@#$%^&*] and am called out on it, it isn't mean or personal.

That pic of Christopher grabbing Kenya right in front of Nene's eyes-on-stalks speaks volumes. I really hope Andy does not let any of these women duck from answering some tough questions about how acceptable it is for a man to lay hands on a woman. I mean, if the cameras and production staff hadn't been there, how exactly would this have gone down? Is production exacerbating the situation or acting as a break on some of these guys to really beat the [!@#$%^&*] out of somebody? I think one of the reasons I am so appalled at Apollo is that he was punching Brandon because Brandon was a stand-in for Kenya. I'm sure he was sore at Kenya for exposing his texts to the world and he was getting his frustration out on him.

Yes you're right @jennymccarthy, production orchestrated Scheana to be there,I objected & they insisted..it is what it is @BravoWWHL #wwhl

LOL, I respect JP's opinion about BH and Lisa and he's pretty even-handed when it comes to her (more than I am probably!). But her response to the whole thing is better than any defense I might have so why not just quote it directly? No mean bloop! intended.

    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton practically twirling his moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
    • It absolutely was; the narrative was there, and they followed it promptly. Maybe that's back when women had babies at young ages?!?!?

    • Thanks for asking that!  Back when we had another major event upcoming (a party or the concert), I had intended to ask what everyone here was planning to wear.

    • Lol. Right?  I mean the show could have framed the 60th anniversary in a different way, but the narrative was celebrating Tom and the hospital. Also, what a weirdly sexist bunch of posts about women's nail polish.  Like, yes, this is Days problem lol.  Stacy Haiduk isn't a good Kristen because she doesn't wear nail polish?  Are we in the 1950's???
