Woohoo to AMC's huge gains! It's nice to see the ratings remained stable all week long. I can't remember the last time the teenage girl demo was so good for this show. I expect this show to be even higher next week with the aftermath of David & Greenlee's aborted wedding.

The sad thing is that CBS will probably make more money off a silly gameshow than NBC makes off Days plus there is the cost of promos for Days. Daytime is, for the time being, not an area of growth and, therefore, CBS isn't going to bust it's back and spend cash to revive World Turns. Eventually, I could even see CBS decide to do primetime repeats during the afternoon. Cable TV repeats the same show numerous times a day and at a very low cost.

I am always shocked by how much higher Y&R rates in total viewers than any other soap. What gives--why do so many people love the show so much? I watch it but don't see it as much better than World Turns or Days. I do think having a stable cast for almost two decades has probably helped. Y&R proves that there are five million people out there willing to watch soaps and there must be a way to get these people hooked on other programs that air in later time slots. B&B is a crash and burn: I can remember the show being 400,000 viewers a head of any other soap and the demos are beyond poor. Bill Bell needs to carry a story over from Y&R like they did with Lauren and Sheila years ago or else B&B is toast. I'm starting to wonder if World Turns might have been able to make better use of the time slot following Y&R in the east: ATWT does really well in the south and might have been able to out shine B&B with a powerful lead in. I watched B&B last week during the rape story and it was a bigger mess than ATWT and, maybe any other soap.

I've noticed a trend where the male viewership for World Turns drop every time Nuke is strongly featured. I'd think things would be the opposite and that gay males would tune in. Are the majority of male soap watchers straight and ill at ease with a queer story? I saw the same trend with OLTL with their recent gay story. Does anyone have research data/info on the male demo? I'm guessing a network or someone must have done a breakdown of male daytime watchers. I'll agree that Nuke is corny but, still, men should not be tuning out to such a severe degree.

Again, I'd love to see how World Turns would do following Y&R in the east--especially with promo.

OK, I don't care how OL made it back to a HH 2.0 (weather/riding AMC's bump), I'll take it! This show needs any good week in can get. Tho Feb. sweeps has kept me entertained overall, it doesn't compare for me to the storylines of Rex/Adriana's wedding or Dorian's takeover weeks. I think most will agree, but I'm still happy.

And what about Gina's return on Friday's ep and OL getting over 2.8 million viewers?!! That excites me. I hope they don't blow it with her return like they did Andrea Evans.

Am I too optimistic to hope that with a full week of Gina and viewers tuning in to watch Stacy finally die, that the show may sustain??? I'd love an increase, but I'd be happy with it just staying level right now.

I think the ratings might stay at this level for a while...People will be interesteed to see how they wrtie Kelly's return, and some may want to see the outcome of this Jessica/memory thing.

So with OLTL beating B&B in the key demos this week....It really makes me less scared for my show!

I'm back to AMC but not for Greenlee. I hate Greenlee about as much as I hate Kendall and that's a LOT. I'm back to see what happens with Brooke, Erica, Jack, etc... Greenlee and Ryan are something I'm simply forced to endure. I'm back until DC leaves because I want to enjoy every last moment of his remaining time on the show.

Yes, you are.

Days in #2 is a shocker! I could actually see B&B fall into number four if AMC keeps up the charge. Also, look at the 18-49 demo for B&B--toasted! How the hell did this happen to a solid show like Bold with a solid lead in? Brad Bell must be shocked as [!@#$%^&*]! Remember: World Turns carried a 2.4 hh for the 2007-08 season so watch out! B&B is now crashing at a faster rate than World did.

Bell had no idea where to take the show after Sally Spectra 'died' (went on her never ending cruise) and Susan Flannery stepped into the background. Dollar Bill is a flop and Jackie M. is a chesse factory! The whole 'Logan Sisters' thing came on too fast and fell flat. Jack Wagner is a bore and basically the new Thorne with a bad man-wig.

    • I'm anticipating most of the cast at the Nice location for a few weeks a la the Tuscan villa for Victoria and Ashland's wedding. I don't know why they bother. I'd rather see the money going into more regular home/office sets. This party has been a bust. No secrets revealed, break ups  etc. Ugly decorations and I'm going to slam the costuming again. Just the guests heaping praise on  Nikki  like she's achieved some magnificent milestone rather than just getting a year older.

In the loving arms of his wife, Dr. Marlena Evans, John took his last breath at the end of the June 2 episode, after suffering devastating internal injuries during a lab explosion. The iconic character went out as he lived — a hero. Sensing the fans’ devastation on Monday, Marlena’s portrayer Deidre Hall posted this simple-but-powerful message to fans on Instagram: “I know. I know. Hardest day ever.”

    • Now coming into June...well...   I knew it was coming but I didn't like the start to the next round of Dani/Bill/Hayley. As the 3 A plots from the start of the show (The SilkPress storyline and Martin's Secret being the other two), it needed to be benched for a while to develop those characters and allow other characters and storylines to grow. 3 months in, Hayley is the weak link, Dani is still divisive, but not boring, and Bill has been making his mark with some plots faster than others. So last week seeing the story starting to loop back around to them with Hayley's potential pregnancy, I honestly had mixed feelings.   I get it. The SilkPress storyline is currently in aftermath/next turn mode, so it has to be moved into a C plot position. Moreso if we want to keep the very talented Miss Trish around. And I love how clever the writers are being with the storyline. They give us enough in the episodes and are still playing out beats to keep the appetite fed. I don't feel like anyone is being dumbed down to keep her around. And Trish is giving nuances in her alone scenes with NuTed. I shouldn't care for a clear psycho, but she be selling it. That said...I wish they had given us a little more of the Martin's Secret storyline in the last week of the month though I loved the game of cat and mouse Bill did on Martin and Smitty to keep the storyline alive and active after it had a nice build beginning of May and vanished for a week mid-May. And it appears like it's about to go back to the backburner as an A plot which of course leaves the A plot of Dani/Bill/Hayley.   I am probably in the minority as someone who is not anti-Dani here and even she annoyed the heck out of me last week. In character true, but I just felt like there was a way to get all of that across without it feeling like...as I've said before...one step forward, two steps back...and have it feel organic. I liked Hayley got a little bit of edge with her, but she still ain't no match for Dani. And it reminds to be seen if we should be going back to that well of a story yet.   Now about today's show...   And I thought Tracy was bad! lol. But YES. Sharon has been worth the wait. And so has Anita's story! Finally having TT in the limelight. This has been a nice slow burn for me and a nice B plot. And the actress is good. The wig is giving. And her holding what Anita's secret is over her head and threatening to tell Vernon....Ooooo...that is what I was waiting for.    And speaking of bad...I thought Eva vs Kat was a great rivalry. But I am loving the rivalry that is growing with 'Nancy Drew' and Silk Press Sheila! They both get good licks in and are so cunning with each other. And I definitely have liked that since the anniversary party, that it has been growing. Now that Kat has been proven right, she has not backed down. And neither has SilkPress. And we got a 'Ms. B@tch' moment, too? LOVE. Eva coming up with a trump card was delicious and so 90s Sami Brady. GOOD. And the coda with Jacob and the expert...YES. The Silk Press storyline has been the best paced on the show so I love that the aftermath of the anniversary party continues to be so...barring one flaw...well for me. Not enough Nicole's POV.   And I like the C plots on display. And by that, I mean Chelsea with Vernon. And it made me wonder what the writers have plan for her love life now that the throuple is over with. I was watching her and going awww.   And of course the mystery man around Martin. I am starting to wonder if he really even works at the country club given how he made a run for it. That would be a twist.    Speaking of Martin...good to see him in scenes with his father and mother.    I'm getting used to NuTed.    I felt the last episode of May was a bit of a letdown, but this was a very nice recovery.
    • Unless they cut him, I'd think he would stay. Surely, he didn't choose to return because he expected high quality. I figure he gets to work when he wants and spend a lot of time doing his own thing and being with his family.
    • The writing for Liz and Lucky is indeed terrible, but if JJ signed a one-year contract he may be gone in a couple of months anyway. Perhaps they’re just cutting their losses.
    • That would be his older sister Stacey. She was the center of a big story back in the day. Nola was out to snag medical student Kelly Nelson, who she thought would provide her with the life she craved. He was in love with a girl named Morgan. Nola plotted to get pregnant by him, but couldn't manage to get him in bed. So she seduced Floyd, who thought she was in love with him. When she knew she was pregnant, she got Kelly drunk and made sure he woke up next to her in bed. Kelly believed her when she told him he made her pregnant. They were about to elope to Las Vegas, but her mother ratted her out and Kelly abandoned her. She almost married Floyd, but jilted him at the altar. She went to work for Quint. When the baby came prematurely, Kelly saved both of them. She named the baby Kelly Louise to irk Morgan, who was now married to Kelly. When she fell in love with Quint, she had a change of heart over all the trouble she had caused, so she changed the baby's name to Anastasia Louise, shortened to Stacey. Quint was a devoted stepfather and Henry treated her like his own granddaughter.  After Quint and Nola leave SF, I believe Stacey is never seen again. Which is odd, you would think they would have brought her back with Nola and J, but they never did.
