Ohhh I would love that! The Vault has episodes from those years, but it's sporadic and not complete, but I may just go find an episode from Summer '90 and give it a peek.

I'll keep that in mind with the June 1992 idea. I think starting Feb 1992 is when most, if not all, the episodes are there, so I might just start there too.

And I love that. :)

If you're going to start '92, start in January. All but the first week is there.

Just a tidbit of background on the Billy/Van clip---it was right after their first major breakup. Billy proposed, but each found out the other was broke. Van gave him a blackeye, and left town for a bit. (Hence the zinger Van hurls about meeting honest men.) The tiny bit that was cut out was Vanessa telling him she'd realized she'd been relying on men all her life and that she'd made a resolution not to continue doing that. The way she squeaks "I LIVE HERE!" just slays me.

@alwaysAMC there's a memorable storyline (slight spoilers.....) in the Summer of 1990, where Alex enlists Holly to prove that Roger's unfaithful. If you can access that, its basically the two of them alone together for a month. You'll just love it.

If the vault only goes back to 1992, there's some good roger/Holly stuff after the ross/Blake story begins with the blackout in June. Maybe the blackout would be a good starting point. It was their TV anniversary month and they had a primetime clip show about a week or so prior.

The Roger and Holly scenes in Acapulco were soap opera gold! I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. The other scenes that were soap opera gold were when Alex blasted Roger in front of Springfield at the County Club — another fantastic set of scenes. Guiding Light was unbelievably solid at this point.

The Nadine story of 1993 really started off in the first part of 1992 when she tipped off the tabloid reporter about Vanessa and her trial.. and once Billy caught wind of what she did, he basically was ready to divorce her. She than decided to try to get pregnant and realized she didn't have many chances left after going to the doctor and I recall she comes upon Bridget learning she's pregnant and fainting.. which kick started an effective story that plays out till spring/summer of 1993.

It involved Nadine/Bridget interacting in a consistent way.. tied together two separate stories (Nadine trying to keep Billy from leaving her for Vanessa and Bridget being pregnant due to hooking up with Roger's son Hart) and had characters interacting with one another that hadn't really interacted that much before. Nadine/Maureen had some awkward interactions with Nadine rightly calling out that she knew Mo didn't like her because of Vanessa...while Bridget interacted some with the Lewis family more.

It really is a shame that Nadine becomes isolated in the 2nd half of 1993 aside from an occasional interaction with Holly at the diner where Holly listened to Nadine talk about Buzz/Jenna while Nadine gave her two cents to Holly about Eve.

The other example of two unrelated stories kind of interacting was the Eve story and also the whole Holly/Ed/Roger situation.... with Mindy giving Holly the 411 on her experiences with Eve while it looked as though Eve was going crazy again stalking Holly only for it to be a wounded Roger hiding in Holly's basement.

Those type of interactions became less and less frequent as the 90s wore on.

@alwaysAMC Where I started about a week before Rick Hearst’s debut in June 1990, there’s also several good Roger/Holly scenes when they’re in Mexico together after AM gets kidnapped on Blake/AM’s honeymoon. I partly started there because I’d just seen the RH/Sonia Satra Locher Room and Rick had talked about the experience of shooting with Zas on his first day and was curious.

OMG yes, the Acapulco episodes and the Country Club episode were epic. I rushed home from school for the Acapulco episodes.

Michael Zaslow should've gotten a Lead Actor nomination in 1991 for the Acapulco episodes. I believe the Acapulco episodes got Maureen Garrett a Supporting Actress nomination in 1991 but I haven't found anything online to verify.

One Roger/Holly scene I'm trying to find the date of is when Roger shows up at Holly's house, admits that he still loves her, then kisses her, and its all witnessed by Gilly. I think it was sometime in late 1991 or early 1992.

The show wasted Nadine so much in her last few years on the canvas. It still annoys me decades later. All for a story most viewers didn't seem to care about. I think people accepted Buzz over time, but I'm not sure he was ever a favorite for many.

There’s also Nadine handing over the secret client bid to AM/Blake when AM blackmails her about tipping off the reporter. No one suspects Nadine since they can’t imagine her using the computer. (There’s several 1991/92 plots involving laptop technology that are amusing to watch now.)

I don’t think they ever tracked that bid getting out to Nadine but it was of course pretty low on her lie totem pole at that point. She was pretty susceptible to blackmail for a couple years there.
