AMC: The Moving/Not Moving Thread

I would be pissed also. I don't think Pasadena is all that special. At least as a resident, he'll get priority ticketing at the Rose Bowl. But really, being where the studios are located, there aren't a lot of choices of where to live, unless you want to fight mad traffic. I could see some of the actors getting a downtown loft. But downtown LA is a complete 180 from Manhattan.

Pasadena has a lot of really nice places, and given the locations within decent driving to the studio i would pick it.

If that's the house that phoning it in built, I want to see what Aiden Turner's house looks like.

I prefer to tell myself that he's dealing coke on the side because if he makes that much from his "acting" I'll be forced to accept that the loving and just deity I call "God" no longer exists.

Nelson Branco says Vincent Irizarry is remaing with the show but will be commuting (like he did with Y&R).

From Lynda Hirsch:

http://www.creators.com/lifestylefeatures/fashion-and-entertainment/lynda-hirsch-on-soaps/lynda-hirsch-on-soaps-gossip-2009-09-19.html

It appears that "All My Children" is not making actors move to L.A. if they want to stay on the show. Vincent Irizarry (David), Susan Lucci (Erica), Thorsten Kaye (Zach) and Alicia Minshew (Kendall) will stay with the show and stay in New York. The performers will fly to L.A. to tape scenes. The actors will pay their own airfare and find places to stay when they head to L.A. With the new "AMC" studios having sets that will stay up 24/7, it will be an easier task. Although, the show will have to be taped out of sequence. Movies and primetime shows do it this way. Most soaps also do it this way.

So it is looking like Alisha Minshew and Thorsten Kaye are not leaving the show. Not a surprise.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I don't hate Thorsten Kaye or Alicia Minshew as people or really as actors. But they have no chemistry and they are absolutely toxic together.

I hope that since they ARE commuting, their screentime is extremely diminished.

So the actors will have to pay their own airfare? I wonder if Lucci could get a break on first-class airfare if she did a spot for one of the airline companies.

I read that article last night and it makes no sense to me. She's basically reporting a non-story. (Personally,I think Lynda Hirsch ripped off a story from Nelson and tried to add details to make it her own.)

ABC is never going to force actors to MOVE to LA. If they want to commute, that's fine with ABC, as long as they show up to work on time when they're supposed to.

The actors who want to keep their homes in NY and their jobs in LA want to be compensated for airfare, hotel, etc and have been negotiating this for the last few weeks.

You would think. If only because it will be hard on other cast members who will have to put up with long days to accommodate so many commuting actors.

There's no way Zendall can be on five days a week if this is the case.

At least they aren't giving Lucci her own helicopter/private jet, like one out of work daytime actress on a now cancelled show.<_<
