Sherilyn Wolter definitely pulled off the bad girl who messed with people's heads. I just wonder why they got rid of her so fast.

Maybe it was always meant to be a limited, short-term role.

It's possible. I don't think anyone from the show ever said either way. Of course, SB wasn't done creating long-lost spawn of CC's that would soon be forgotten. *coughGregcough*

For some reason IMDB doesn't list Ms. Wolter's role as George on Guiding Light in 1993, but it came with a lot of fan fair and press at the time.

didn't know about this one i am curious

anyway i remember reading a comment on one of elena's episodes that said SW wanted to leave but he didn't answer when i asked about it, so no clue, but i liked the idea of Elena staying on the show longer it would be nice to have a more down to earth long term Vilain, they could easily just have her wounded and comitted to a sanatorium for a time then she would come back and wreak some havoc without having to try to kill everyone

What was her story at GL?

She played George, a mentally unbalanced, hired thug. I best remember her for getting in a vicious physical confrontation with Lucy Cooper over baby Marina's well-being. Sad to say, I loathed Lucy so much at this point in time that I was rooting for George to get her good.

This was the peak era of JFP trying to get SB people onto GL - beyond Wolter, and Deas, and Walker, and Marj, there was also the guy who played Bunny, and she tried to hire A Martinez.

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one rooting for George.

I'm on 522, and still very intersted. But 86, 87 are my favorite years

Oh, My Favorite Year. Someone should write a song about that. ;)

The 500s were pretty solid. But, the Dobsons were clearly death to this soap, in my humble opinion. From day one they made a lot of mistakes. A lot.

Sherilyn Wolter never got another promising soap role again, which is too bad. I always wondered why she never reprised Celia on GH. In any case, her last listed imdb role was in the mid-1990s.

If I recall correctly, I do believe they offered an extension on her deal, and she passed.

Most of the best times SB ever had was when they weren't on.

The only one I rooted for was Eleni when she was held hostage by George

I loved George. She was TERRIFYING to me. SW is really good at fight choreography. There was a great scene of her and Eleni in like a sewer that I’d love to see again. Some really solid dialogue.

She did make a very compelling villainess. Those creepy smiles, the sugary sweet yet venomous voice...
