December 19, 200619 yr Member Kenny, pretend as if you're in Saw 4, and you have to make a terrible choice, and you can only pick one: not change the opening or have Eileen Davidson back. Hey. F you.
December 19, 200619 yr Member Where was Henderson. There is no way Roman would ave been allowed to roam around Victor's house. That part was plot driven and not good imho. Hated that smug look on his face. Never should have happened that way. But it did. One hickey. Not too bad. I think the show has gotten rid of its dayplayers like Henderson. He hasn't been around since Shawn crashed into Victor's house. We have Victor now answering his own door. I think Henderson has been a victim of the budget cuts along with some of the contract players. Have you also noticed how we're using less sets by having Shelle live with Bo/Hope now? Eventually, I could foresee Lumi/Will living wiith J&M if this keeps up.... Kikired replied to my post at Coffeerooms... Posted by kikired on 23:30 12/18/2006: In Reply to: No, keep it classic. If the producers are taking suggestions posted by ademption on 22:38 12/18/2006: I will take that into consideration. Thank you http://www.w3pg.com/w3-cgi/getmsg.pl/3/1367.html Here's hoping that kikired is actually from Days and that they're reading the message boards to get feedback on the show....
December 19, 200619 yr Member I read that the apartment that Shawn had was one of the loft apartments redone and that they are now redoing it again for another set. I wonder who will get it. This cutting sounds very, very serious.
December 19, 200619 yr Member Oho, TPTB at DAYS would never hear the end of it if they changed the "Like sands..." part of the opening! But seriously, I would be furious. Edited December 19, 200619 yr by HoganStaysAtDAYS1
December 19, 200619 yr Member Even if they changed the opening, it would be changed back like a week later because the uproar would be huge. That is one thing that should never chance and Macdonald Carey's voice should always be heard. The only change to the opening I would approve of is going back to that remix they had during the beginning of the island story. I loved that. Thanks for giving your imput on that ademption. The SFX need to go. They have been much better lately but they are still there most days and they sometimes ruin the end for me. The cuts as far as the sets go are fine by me. I am ok with Shawn living with his parents. Belle living there is a bit weird but I guess I can buy it as Hope is a big Shelle supporter. I just don't know if Belle would live off someone like that. I know Claire being taken spooked her but I don't know if she would live at Bope's because of that. They are probably just trying to save money by not using as many sets at once so with J&M gone they don't use the penthouse and so on. It's ok by me-as long as they can make it make sense and it keeps the show going at a high level quality-wise I am fine with it. I do think they may have cut Henderson but Victor may not trust him being around with Philip being kept there. I know Henderson has been there for years and Victor could probably maintain his silence but he may not want to take a risk and have Henderson know and blow the secret to the police or something somehow. That could be plausible.

December 19, 200619 yr Member Give props to Andre too!! He posted a reply to that Days person too!! Here's a link in case he doesn't want to toot(?--I don't know it's late) his own horn... http://www.w3pg.com/w3-cgi/getmsg.pl/3/1377.html He said it much more diplomatically than I did. Well-written... Great post, Andre!!
December 19, 200619 yr Member In that case, great post Andre! I just wanted to say I'm glad someone mentioned the background music -- it is so characterless and tepid, if not cheesy, right now. It should be part of the storytelling and it really adds very little. Presentation is more important than people might think, so I was glad you mentioned that in addition to the lame SFX, ademption. I had to!! The crappy music bothered me too much!! Both the SFX and the music break the spell for me. If Days could just get those 2 items right, I'd be good to go. I could deal with any other issues that I had with the show. It's the crappy music and SFX that are the deal breakers for me.... I doubt that we can get rid of the music since Corday writes that crap. See article here: http://www.w3pg.com/w3-cgi/getmsg.pl/150/4631.html But if we can make a concerted effort to get rid of the SFX that will help improve the quality of the show.... December 19, 200619 yr Member I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't stand those things, for me the sets are blah too but I realize serious money is needed for that to change. The music though ... sometimes when I've read the EE for an episode I put it on mute, knowing what the conversation is about, and I just enjoy the show so much more without the music. I knew it was written by Corday, but he's been EP longer than he's been writing the music, right? I don't remember it always being so bad. I do make a point to complain about the SFX every chance I get, I hope it goes somewhere.
December 19, 200619 yr Member No way in hell will they go through with it. If they changed it, there would be such an uproar that they'd be forced to change it back. "Like sands through the hourglass..." is a pop culture classic. Not just in daytime. EVERYBODY knows that line, even those who have never watched a show! For the love of God, they even quoted it in one of those "Bill & Ted" movies! Never will they change it. I'll mail anthrax. (not really, please don't jail me!) What I'm wondering about is that alternate opening theme the show premiered during the New Salem story a couple of years ago. Did Ken Corday ever explain that? What significance it held, and why did they pull it? I actually like it. As for the "Days" opening, I think they could keep Carey's voice, to stay traditional, but mix up the opening somehow. Update it for this current millenium.

It sounded so dramatic and grand. Unfortunately, I associate it with one of the worst periods in the show's history. Edited December 19, 200619 yr by Kenny
December 19, 200619 yr Member i finally got to watch Mondays show and i'm completely amazed at how much i enjoyed it....It was absolutely incredible...Hogan is really rolling on all cylinders right now and the ante has really been upped in all the stories...The lumi/ej story has kind of been lacking for me, but today was a great turnaround for them...Ali Sweeney just rocked today..i loved her frantic scene with Lucas trying to devise the plan to get away from EJ...and the phone call with Will was hillarious..Loved Will calling back and asking if he should pretend to have an appendicitis and if he could get out of school..Also it was great hearing Lucas say that EJ could be the gloved hand and the person that made them think Will was kidnapped..I'm actually scared for Sami now.. John, Marlena, and Stefano--good stuff..john was a little cheesy today..But Marlena was awesome..My favorite part was when she pointed the gun at he nurse and said they weren't done yet..and seeing Susan in the picture was so cool...I really think we'll be getting a visit from Susan in the coming months..hopefully kristen too... Shawn, Belle, Roman, Victor, Kate, and Phillip---this is probably my favorite storyline now and today was excellent..I can't believe Belle and Shawn are already onto Victor...I'm so used to these characters being so clueless, thats its such a relief when they actually use their brains...Finally did anyone else get chills when victor told belle and shawn that they didn't want to make an enemy out of him... Can't wait for tommorow..personally i really want to see what happened to mimi and max..damm i actually am worried for them...
December 19, 200619 yr Member Todays show was Emmy worthy. DAYS should use this tape for the Drama prenominations, and use something from Zach's death if they get the actual nomination. This is the first time in eons that DAYS has been this good!
