Oh, IA with you on that point. But, I guess the way Victor looks at it, he was never close to Shawn or Bo, so in his mind, it doesn't matter what they say. They never accepted him as their father and grandfather, and only knew him when they needed something. But, Philip treated him like a father and loved him unconditionally. So, he is in Philip's corner no matter what.........

And Bo and Shawn can go to hell, as far as he is concerned.

Ahhh. I see. Its interesting that he thinks that he can get away with stealing their kid from them though.

Southerhoney, they spent a great amount of time on Victor's motivation last Wednesday. What he did to Philip (keeping the truth for so long) and his son going through what he is is what flicked a switch in him. He promised Isabella before she died that he would change and he held to that for the most part but almost losing his son and his son losing his daughter is making him do all this. That and Victor doesn't want him to miss the little girl he thinks of as his daughter grow up like he did Isabella. He is making things up to him in a way by doing this. As for Bo and Shawn, I think he feels betrayed by Shawn and thinks he and Belle betrayed Philip. Shawn and him have had several faceoffs so that hasn't helped either. Bo has never thought of Victor as his father for the most part so I don't think Victor cares about Bo and Shawn as they never really consider Victor family anyway. I think it's all a plausible motivation.

Oh okay, but what WAS his motivation from keeping the truth about Claire? I'm sort of an old/new viewer. I watched back during the Susan/Kristin years but I was young and didn't know all the relationships and players so you all will have to bear with me.

I'm happy to say it seems everyday on Days is fantastic.

I love the range of EJ from raging DiMera to suave suitor. JS just makes it look so easy and so very fascinating for viewers to watch.

Btw, I don't think EJ bought Sami's cover story. He is smart enough to realize that if she heard him, she would run. Run she did and he is not fooled.

Jarlena just make a wonderful team. Steffy still trying to reach out and touch Marlena makes me laugh. Then presto, John gets the death card. Guess Steffy still has a yen for Marlena and wants to finally get rid of his competition.

The return of evil Victor is a hit. JA has been on the bb for too long. I love him nice and I love him bad. And I cannot wait to see Jay emerge from the mummy state. What a nice touch to have the former actor back.

Also, Shelle is coming together and I like it. Now that Shawn has located his brain, I think we are in for some good times.

Excellent show!

I watched specifically to see the Susan picture. I was very happy. :)

I just hope Susan managed to raise Elvis up until adulthood, and then he tracked down his biological father. Maybe Stefano reunited with Elvis just before his car crash, but didn't know Susan really raised him, so wasn't able to rescue Kristen from the fortress dungeon.

I agree with Bree. Although I'm loving Victor's quest to secure Claire's custody with Philip, I have to wonder if he remembers the child he's having with Mimi. Sure, Philip gave up parental rights, but the child is still biologically Philip's. Claire is not. Oh well, it's a good thing this is an amazing story or that contradiction would have a huge impact.

OMG!!! Deidre Hall held Eileen Davidson's picture on her hand!!

I nearly went into cardiac arrest with excitement.

And I kept rewinding, just to hear her say their names again:

MARLENA: Isn't this Susan Banks? (rewinds)... Susan Banks... Susan Banks... Susan Banks.... Susan Banks... Susan Banks. EJ is the child that you and Kristen raised.... Kristen raised... Kristen raised... Kristen raised... Kristen raised...

It was orgasmic, wasn't it?

After today's episode, I just want Eileen and Joe back all the more. And none of this short term crap either.

Yet another really solid episode. Loved Victor. Loved Kate. Didn't hate Roman (wow!) Sami was absolutely fabulous today. James Scott continues to impress me with his portrayal of EJ. Yet again I can't tell if he knew he was being played or not. I love that. I thought the ending with his face and the opera music was chilling.

Sheffer is still bringing it. Keep it up, dude!

The ending was awesome, and just classic gothic DAYS!

Victor mentioned Philip and Mimi's baby last week when Kate mentioned it was "Lockhart trash" or something like that and Victoe said "it is still a Kiriakis" and that it has his blood and Philip's so Victor is well aware of the child that is out there. Getting Claire for Philip is his first concern as he is trying to make it up to him and knows Claire still thinks of him as his father and Philip loves her like she is his. Plus, I think he feels he failed Philip and Victor is quite pissed at Belle and Shawn. Philip signed away the rights and that child isn't even born yet. Once it is, I think that is when Victor will act and all hell will break loose but Claire is here right now so that is his first objective.

Like I said, all seems plausible to me so far. We all know the Bonnie/Victor stuff will blow up next year so it's all good

I wanted to post my reply without reading anyone's else to today's show. This episode was just awesome. Every storyline today had so much tension and suspense. The EJ/Sami storyline had me on the edge of my seat. You can see that Sami is playing with fire here, and is going to get burned; but isn't it great seeing Sami becoming a heroine. This storyline is going to provide some awesome stuff for Sami.

Belle/Shawn/Victor/Roman/Kate/Phillip was great stuff today. Once again the tension is building in this storyline every show. I just love how everyone is figuring things out, and then telling other people. With JER, everyone would be clueless to Victor's plan, and the whole storyline would make no sense. Hogan just gets Victor, and is making Roman interesting again. I can actually root for Belle and Shawn again now.

Stephano/Marlena/John was just awesome again. I have nothing more to add than to just say that I felt like I was watching the old days again today. I try to watch the show as soon as i get home now, and can't wait for tomorrow's show.

I agree. It's very much feeling like the "old days" again. We are fortunate to have the original actors playing the parts of John and Marlena, Steve and Kayla, Bo and Hope, Caroline and Shawn, and Victor. It feels like "home". I do miss JM and delighted Hogan decided not to recast him. It would have been awkward to say the least. I'm loving EJ as his offspeing.

Remember when EJ was first in Salem that he told Sami that he never met his father? He was distant with his mother and raised by a nanny and I believe he said, his grandfather. Later on, he told Sami that his father had many CB radios which indicated to me that even though he never met his father, he heard from him a lot. Of course, this is a soap and I do believe that the EJ character has evolved from the first and that may not be the history that Hogan is going to have for him now.

John and Marlena were magnificent as was the whole storyline in the hospital with Stefano.

Victor, Kate and Philip were very gothic and I loved them.

Shawn and Belle are working at it. I don't get them as a couple and see that Belle is still torn.

Where was Henderson. There is no way Roman would ave been allowed to roam around Victor's house. That part was plot driven and not good imho. Hated that smug look on his face. Never should have happened that way. But it did. One hickey. Not too bad.

Even if Henderson was there. Jean, Roman still would've barged his way in and looked around. That is the way Roman is. He really should've had a warrant but he knows Victor so I think he figured he could force his way in and look around. I don't think he would've roamed around quite so much if it hadn't been Kate that was there but since his ex-wife was there he knew he could.

OMG today's episode was fricken awesome. The best has to be when Marlena held Susan's picture. When she said EJ it was like "Biggest Moment of the Year". It almost was, in fact, it probably was... seriously... But every scene was brilliant. EJ was spooky with Sami, this was the biggest surprise for me being spoiler free... everything with Sami/Lucas/EJ has been soo WOW. DAYS has a very old style mysterious feel to it. Victor is awesome, the Kiriakis mansion stuff was awesome. I care about every fricken character. WOW....

Hogan definitely gets 2 thumbs up for the past 2 weeks. I want to get gitty but I just hope it continues and isn't a tease!!

Off.

The.

Chain.

I know that JER must be sticking pins in his HS doll, because that man and his writing team are making him look like a fool. The danger. The mystery. The intrigue. And the performances all have combined to make Days probably daytime's best show right now, bar none.

Lucas/Sami/E.J.: I was actually cheering when Lucas walked through the door after Sami called him. I felt so bad for her. She has had her heart ripped out again. But this time, her life may be in danger. Lucas killed me trying to get her out of there, and all she could do was trip off of how she got played by E.J. from day one. And what will she do when she finds out that he IS a DiMera? I really hope Lucas can protect her, because these are going to be games that will be played for keeps, and Lucas better man up right now. No Boys Allowed when dealing with the DiMeras.

John/Marlena/Stefano: That guy who played him today really sounded like JM for a minute. Wonderful work by all. All I could do is keep saying to the t.v. screen "Get the hell out of there!" John's trying to find out information, and everyone and their mama is on their wayto Stefano's room after he shot his bodyguard.

The other stories were great as well. I don't think Shawn should have told Victor about what he thought, but, maybe he put Victor on notice. But, this is now shaping up to be a gigantic umbrella story, with most of the cast involed in some form or fashion. Josh for once actually came off as Roman. I'm glad he stood toe-to-toe against Victor. Kate has gotten herself caught in the middle, and who knows what she will do.

This is the Days I remember from the 70s and 80s. It is offcially can't miss. I wonder how long, if it stays like this, it will take before it catches B&B and claims the No. 2 spot in the ratings. Only time will tell.
