I was wondering if anyone is returning for Christmas this year with the new writer and all. I would love to see Mickey (John Clarke), Marie (Maree Cheatham), Bill (Peter Simon), Laura (Jamie Lyn Bauer/Linda Dano), Jessica & Joshua (original portrayers), Jack & Jen (Stephanie Cameron), Kimberly (Pasty Pease/Anne Howard), and many others I could go on and on and on about this, but I was wondering if anyone heard anything about whats coming up in Salem for Christmas??

Haven't heard or read anything but the most likely are Doug & Julie (unless SSH is still taping at Y&R) as well as Marie Horton, because of current storylines.

I am sure Marie or Jessica and Joshua will be in town for the holidays with Nick and Alice

Doug and Julie are givens. They always come by for the holidays. With Nick in town, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Marie pop into town for the ornament hanging this year. I think Jessica and Josh may be a stretch though. No one cares.

Corday mentioned in late summer that the Mickey situation would be addressed so perhaps Clarke will return for the holidays.

Other then that, I can only see Doug and Julie and possibly Marie. I wouldn't expect any more then that.

I don't think Julie will be there this year. Unless she was able to work out some type of schedule to do so. She starts airing on Y&R on Dec 15 and they will continue through the holidays.

He didn't. Before he took over we used to get Penny and others home for Christmas but I don't think she came home once while he was head writer. Hopefully it is something he has learned from as he admitted he didn't know what to do with the older characters and all. Maybe he knows better than to do that at Days.

If he brings on Linda Dano as Laura, I'll scream for joy! I've always wanted to see DH/LD onscreen together.

Im actually sorry to say this but i dont see the need for Laura Horton in town or Bill at the moment...No Mike or Jennifer they have no need. However i would like Linda Dano but she would come with a pretty big price tag....and if were trying to get Vivian Stefano and Kristen oh then PETER lol j/j i dont see them getting Linda Dano. Shes better on ABC soaps anyway...the one new character i wouldnt mind seeing is Kate Roberts back story more...her mother? a sister? as for Christmas hanging i just think we will be lucky to get a Mickey Horton and hopefully alice's daughter Marie.

Wait a minute!! Lucas doesn't need to see his father? Will doesn't need to see his grandfather? It's bad enough that we hardly see Will interacting with his grandmother Marlena and they both live in the same town. Personally, I would like to see Lucas and Will interact more with the Horton side of his family, besides Maggie (although I love Maggie/Lucas scenes). Even though Lucas sees Victor more as his father figure than Bill, I still would like one day to see some interaction b/w father and son, even if it meant a Bill recast. Maybe Bill can come next year, esp if Mike drops into Salem in 2007....

It would be nice if Marie could drop by to visit her grandson, Nick but I'm not expecting it.....

I definitely think Hogan should bring Bill back sometime next year when his own storylines are fully underway. That's what I'm doing in my blog, anyway. But yeah, it'll more than likely just D&J, and maybe Marie.

I did read an article addressing the Christmas show. Wish I could remember where and when and what it said. Since Days is pre-empted Christmas Day I was thinking it wasn't the traditional Christmas show and was fretting about that, but I'm not certain. You know how we usually know who will be reading The Christmas Story at Salem Hospital and all the kids of cast and actors are invited to attend so we get to see their children. Last year, we got to see all three of the triplets who portrayed Zack.

No problem. Lucas shared a lot of scenes with Bill when Lucas found out that Bill was his father. But that was about a couple of months/year after Lucas arrived in Salem in the mid-90s. At that time, Lucas was resentful of both Bill and Kate's lying about his parentage. Kate told Lucas that his father was a vet who died during military action and that's why she sent him to military school etc. Right after Laura told everyone the truth about Lucas being Bill's son, Bill skipped town--but not before both Lucas and then Jennifer told him off!!

Lucas and the bad/snotty Will spent a summer with Bill in Africa (offscreen of course) the summer of 2002 and apparently then Bill/Lucas formed a decent father/son bond based upon what Lucas said about his trip to Jennifer/Sami. But we never saw it onscreen. I don't think Bill's been back on the show since the mid-90s.

I didn't mean to come off so strong but Lucas is one of my fave characters and I often think that he gets shortchanged on this show and I wanted to make sure that people didn't forget his ties to the Hortons. But Lucas' neglect is another topic for another thread....
