Erica Kane's only "son" being the result of the worst piece of science fiction, plot point, trash I have ever heard of. Not to mention the fact that said "son's" very existence means that Erica is once again mother to a violation of her body, and mother to the first ever walking fetus on Daytime, who holds the title as a prodcut of the overturning of the first legal abortion in television history.

Stupidest. Plot point. Piece. Of. Trash. EVER!

Making GH the "Sonny and Carly" Show.

GL: The Reva Clone. It alienated a lot of fans and many stopped watching and never returned. It also was a crashing halt to the great momentum that the show had built the previous year ('97). Though I enjoyed watching most of the story for what it was, the basis of it-- human cloning, rapid aging serums, hatching a newborn baby out of nowhere-- was too ridiculous.

GL: The Santos family. It once again alienated a lot of long-time fans and the show was unrecognizable for a long time while the Santos family was front-and-center. The pastel princes of San Cristobel didn't help matters either.

DAYS: Reilly sabotages the show before he leaves in Fall '97. (i.e. A recast Jenn and recast Jack become front-and-center as the two go on the run from Peter and eventually join a circus. Marlena & John are torn apart by a recast Roman. Vivian marries the narcoleptic Jonesy. Susan Banks' antics become stupid instead of funny. etc.) This turnaround of storylines also caused the great momentum of that year to crash.

DAYS: The Salem Serial Killer. No 'death' on daytime can be taken seriously now. Unless we know an actor has died in real life. Plus, it gave birth to Captive Island, which was by far the crappiest, most poorly written, cheapest, tackiest, most repetitive garbage ever seen.

Shawn-Douglas Brady and Belle Black SORASed. They are pretty much cousins and the past 7 or so years of this show have been dominated by these two pod characters.

The entire Iraq SL was so badly done, not to mention unrealistic even for DAYS standards. How in the hell could 4 civillians(Brady, Shawn, Rex, and Lucas) just fly a helicopter over some Iraq desert without being noticed by anyone. Tony had so much power during this time, it was like he ruled the entire world and could conquer anything and everything. I was embarrased to watch the show during this time.

Garden of Eden: No explanation needed!

Jack dying so many times with the combo of all the Salemites coming back from the dead from Captive Island made coming back from the dead common place. So how could Salemites realistically grieve for their "lost" loved ones when they always return home within the next year. JER just got kill happy this time around as HW.

Firing Peter Brash and Paula Cwikly was a dumb move, but hiring Dena Higley to replace them was even dumber.

I think "everyone was alive" was the only way to salvage the mess Days had made at the time. Reilly could've blamed it on whoever he liked, but the fact is that as originally shown Marlena was part of the murders of a score of beloved characters. She could not have survived that as a character despite his habit of turning the character into little more than a colorful mascot and freak show, in my opinion. The resulting story was awful, but I felt both stories were awful. JER's "great vision" didn't work either way to me.

ICAM, Vee. Those arguing that the dead should not have been brought back tend to overlook what this would have meant for Marlena. She would have been toast. Dee herself remarked at the time that she feared for the character's future.

B&B-

- Taylor's return for one (I didn't mind Taylor before, but her return has only served to ruin her character...)

- Melaswen. That storyline was screwed in late April of 2004. That's when it stopped being a storyline made good through performance and chemistry of the cast and started being completely laughable.

- Tony's umpteenth return.

- BOS (Boys Of Summer) AKA the Iraq war story in 2005. It was so damn stupid and insulting.

- Stami.

- Chelsea is Georgia.

- Brady hates/trying to destroy Marlena (especially since if they went with history, Marlena should have been the one and only person he was close to).
