I know which period you're talking about. The little brown-haired girl was playing Abby and Will was a blonde. This was the time when Will became a little brat.

I think making the SSK Samantha would have been a great -- and somehow logical -- idea. Too bad TIIC didn't follow their instincts on that one.

I did something like that in my blog before killing Marlena. She went psycho over all the trauma in her life and almost developed split personalities.

I truthfully think the dead were going to be dead and that we would have some sort of supernatural thing explain it all. However, I also think initially after they changed the story to bring back the dead, they were going a supernatrual route. The week before the big reveal of the dead being alive, we had Marlena returning to Celeste in a black cloak and telling Celeste "everyone was going to die." Those scenes had a witchcraft/almost like posession story feel to them. We heard rumors of a vortex or Marlena being posessed by Stefano or Samantha' s ghost or something. There was also rumors of her being a warlock. Whatever the case, I think they changed the story after Marlena was revealed. Many boards reported shortly after the Marlena reveal that Tanya Boyd was the next one out and then it became Bill Hayes. We heard rumors for weeks that John Aniston was out but that went back and forth for weeks before we heard it was true. No one knew how many victims there would be as it kept changing. Corday would say something one week and then things would be different the following week. After the Marlena reveal, nothing seemed planned anymore. Everything looked planned up until Marlena's being revealed as the SSK. After that, things seemed to change on a weekly basis and it didn't seem like Days knew at times who the victims even were.

Nonetheless, the story had potential but it is the worst story in Days history along with Iraq (which I guess is much worse) and Garden of Eden. Teen Invasion ranks up there too. I actually liked the teens under B&C. Demoting B&C in favor of Higley was the worst decision I have ever seen. The Princess Gina story was bad but it was more confusing then anything else. The satellite/mind chip crap was worse though. The story had so much potential when JER opened it up with Hope's return and then SSM picked it up pretty good but lost me with the mind chips. You never knew who was Hope, Gina, etc. That story gained some momentum when real Gina took over Hope's wife and KA was wearing that short wig. The fallout from Bo and Gina's wedding was pretty good too and led to some good things in 2000 including the plane crash (which I liked with all the vets, etc).

I think everyone hit all the Days ones and some of the other soaps' biggest ones but here is some Passions ones:

-Hell in a Closet (I somewhat liked but still)

-All the rapes, cutting, etc.

-Vendetta (second part rocked but first part sucked)

-Whitney as a nun.

-Shipping Grace out of Harmony.

-Dragging stories out far too long (Theresa/Ethan/Gwen, Ivy/Sam, Sheridan/Luis/Marty)

I'm not talking about 25. I meant teens... 14-17. I know so many people in that age group started watching DAYS around -99 and invaded the forums.

As I said in my post I didn't like it at all. I'm just stating what I know. Look at Shelle, one of the biggest fan bases the show has. Atleast it was when KS & JC was on. I never got why people liked JC, but hey everyone's different.

I think that the SSK was a bigger mistake than Melaswen, and I know that may be unpopular here but ... okay, let's put it this way. I personally (I'm admitting it's personal!) do not have a taste for stories based on shock value. No matter how you look at it I think SSK always was about shock value at the heart of it. It was never absorbing drama, IMO. I'm not saying Melaswen/Everyone's Alive wasn't lamer than lame, but it started with the SSK. You reap what you sow. To clarify, I think everything done by JER had it's share of lameness, even in his first run, though I can admit that he executed better in the 90's ... just to put that out there to clarify where I'm coming from.

JER. Even when he got ratings, it was more like keeping somebody alive by drugs than by food, it's a philosophy of addiction and the person just lives from kick to kick. Yes the person is alive, but what kind of life is it. JMO!

Langan.

Shane + Kayla -- it's one thing to end the supercouple era, it's another thing to kick its face in.

The cartoonization of the DiMeras and the softening of Victor K.

The Teen Scene, and all that growed out of it. Special mention to the contrivance of Shawn/Belle and all things Chloe.

-Time Travel Reva-GL was on the right track, getting back to business intregue and all that. Suddenly Lloyd Gold does an 180 and sends the show into a downspiral. The ratings after this were disappointing considering that GL had a comfortable spot in the ratings until this sl started.

-Ellen Wheeler not hiring a experienced writer such as Lorraine Broderick to assume the reigns of Head Writer alongside David Kreizman.
