Desperate Housewives: Discussion Thread

They weren't celebrating Christmas... they just posed for a photo because Kayla never had the chance to have a family Christmas.

I loved the season premiere - I don't know why anyone would consider it being a "snooze fest".

You Americans shouldn't be so aggressive in your watching behaviour. Stick to a show through the good and the bad times, so that we in overseas can enjoy many more seasons

It's kinda strange... Desperate Housewives is such a hit over here in Europe, but Grey's Anatomy is not. In Germany GA is close to being cancelled because of extreme low ratings.

Wow, I didn't even know that. That is great.... I hope ABC is happy with it considering that last season was so all over the place, all these returning viewers is a good sign, I know many people are over the show with so many more good scripted shows this season...

I finally got around to watching my tape last night and OMG. Marc Cherry and Jeff Greenstein delivered. Awesome episode and above all top notch writing! That scene with Bree at her doctor's describing her orgasams and not knowing she had one  omg I was on the floor. The new mystery is so far much more intriguing than the Applewhites and I loved Laurie Metcalfe as Carolyn and she I think begins to play a major role in the storyline for the first arc of this season. I loved how Edie kept showing the house and then something would go wrong  I am glad it appears Edie might actually be doing something relevant this season I can only hope anyway. Awesome premiere the season is off to a fantastic start.

Not amazing, but not bad. Hopefully the episodes will get better. The whole thing Bree/Orson is almost like her and George, so it seems nothing new to me. I like Susan's storyline and if Mike will wake up. The best part was when Susan spilled the smoothie on that coma lady. Oh man! LOL! The Lynette/Tom storyline could be pretty good, even though Nora is really annoying, lol. I wonder how they're going to do the Gabrielle storyline, with the baby and if Carlos and her will get back together.

Really sad not to see Edie in any storyline, and no Zach/Paul. Tonight should be better though.

I loved the season premiere... BUT, I hope they just don't forget about Bree's son. Where is he? Why hasn't he reacted to Bree's engagement. And her daughter... Also I hope the mystery doesn't progress like season one, mainly because it would be predictable, and also because it was done already.

The daughter's absense is jarring but not the sons.

WTF was what I thought when I saw the baby. Either the doctors f-ed up or somebody wasnt a version like they claimed.

I like Edie's nephew. Im glad htey finally brought someone from her family. I was hoping it would be her son but this guy will do. What's the actor's name? He looks familiar

LOL....the guy who played Will Rappaport on OLTL was at the party as a gay waiter.

Who are you talking about?

I'm just not that impressed with DH yet! :(

Why is Bree rushing this relationship? Where in the heck is her daughter and son? I remember Andrew getting dropped off and he being finished with him - but what's the daughter doing? They should still be there to give their two cents.

And that black baby? Hello - Nip/Tuck season 1 finale? Complete copy scene.

I do like seeing Edie and her getting a connection on the show...

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
    • Nah I enjoyed it much more last year because of the Harry plot that ended during that time. Nazar being introduced and them. But this time it is so lame and nothing I like forward to anymore and I’m one of them long time fans. Of course I would be upset if they would cancel it but maybe take a year off or two and return refreshed
    • came across this quote that provides some context: “It’s hard to escape the cultural reach of the Catholic Church when you live in the Western world. It is, for better or worse, one of the load-bearing walls of our civilization. Its influence wafts from the church into the streets of civic life, the courts, the schools, the arts.”
    • Yesterday's show:   Can they give Ambyr Michelle the Emmy for supporting actress already?   Truly enjoyed the episode from Leslie and Eva, Eva and Ted, Nicole and Dani to Anita and Nicole.

    • Yes, I noticed after discovering Chandler was in several episodes. It's a shame it was canceled. I'm glad I was able to watch Chandler's episodes.
    • I'm Catholic, and I care, as do many who aren't Catholic. No need to be so nasty about it.. The whole episode was on Paramount Plus. That is where I watched it..
