How could Neil stand there and say he and Carmen AREN'T fooling around? He's kissed her, he's shared his wish to have sex with her and even WENT TO HER PLACE TO HAVE SEX, but once Carmen knew Dru was home, she sent Neil back. Otherwise, he would have slept with her that night. And they continue to stay stuck up each other's buttcracks day in, day out. But he's not messing around. He's waiting for the perfect opportunity. Neil is using his time apart from Dru to get with Carmen. OMG!! I can't take much more of his hypocrisy. SERIOUSLY. It's sickening. SICKENING. Even for someone who isn't a Dru fan, the way Neil is acting is disgusting. He continues to act like she's dreaming up ridiculous scenarios, when in fact she has been right on the money every time she opens her big mouth. The jazz club WAS Carmen's idea and he knows it. Then he runs his ass straight to Carmen to tell his business about what Dru did at the GCAC.

UGH! The fact that he is continuing to "shoot the breeze" with Carmen after all of this is disgusting. And why do they keep making Dru the topic of conversation? WHY does Carmen care what Neil thinks about what Dru did? She's trying to force a reaction out of him. So stupid. I also hate that way Neil has of literally looking down his nose at people. He did it to both Dru and Devon today. Bastard.

This is OT but ITA. Just started watching DAYS and was shocked how thin she got. Now she's even playing pregnant and still has no ounze of bodyfat...

Why is it okay for them to do a story about Traci's weight, but not Colleen? I don't think the message is, "Colleen you are a fat pig, lose weight!" In the end she'll probably realize she's happy the way she is and who cares what people think. BTW, I read on another board that Colleen has already had a story about her weight, so if thats true then this is building on her history. My only complaint is that it's pointless without Traci.

I also disagree with the notion that Dru is being written as a one dimensional psycho. The only person who thinks she's crazy is Carmen (and Phyllis, but for other reasons). Sharon, Lily and Devon understand and support Dru. Neil is kinda 50/50 on the subject. It's not like 24/7 we see Dru walking around town like a nut. What did she do today? Be a caring mother to her son.

My main problem with this story is that they won't fully acknowledge what a dog Neil is. He's having an affair and doing everything he can to ruin his marriage, but it's Dru's fault? I'd like to see people call him on the fact that he IS guilty as well. At this point if Dru goes back to Neil, I'll be extremely pissed. If they do reconcile, I want HIM to apologize as well. But I think there is more story for them apart.

LOVED seeing Ashley in action today, but since she isn't one of the favorites, I doubt what happened today will amount to much. It's nice to see Ashley and Victoria coming to their senses in regards to Brad, even Nikki. Yes Victoria is still with him, but you can tell she has her doubts and I don't see her staying with him for long.

In the past I would have felt bad about not watching Y&R, but with the shape the show is in now any feeling of regret is gone......

LML is not a good fit for Daytime, she needs to read some of the books about writing Soaps that have been mentioned on this board before. LML seems oblivious to the pacing of Soaps, and like I've said before her story ideas remind me of JER's crap that Days put on our screens during his 2nd tenure. Y&R is turning into a Soap that I don't even recognize anymore, and that's not a good thing. GloHo is becoming the "Tony" of Y&R, with her outlandish tricks and schemes; then they decide to make GloHo's sons her henchmen.

Im not getting that impression at all and I don't think that it is the point of the s/l. I'm not getting any message that I need to go and starve/purge myself in order to look a certain way. True, she never showed any of her insecurites but that doesn't mean that she doesn't have them. If done the right way, this could be a good s/l.

Neither am I, I just think the story is crappy already and its barely started. Something about the pacing bothers me...some mean girls make a comment about her laying off of whip cream...ok...whatever...next, I get her saying that she's stuffed or fat or whatever...and JT talks about her fat booty and it sends her into a rage. Y&R used to be discreet, not a SAFE DROPPING show. The eating disorder storyline should not be something that I can see from a mile away, it should sneak up on us.

I don't think it's ok to do stories like this. Period. There are millions of young women out there who get their self worth by what they see in amgs and on television and the big screen. If you don't feel like that, fine. But that is my opinion. Like it or not.

And if you personally don't get that impression, that is also cool. But no one can speak for every single person who watches this show. And I just think that other socially relevent stories could be done, instead of, like a previous poster stated, just throwing out these stories to see what sticks.

The modelling industry is telling girls they have to be thin, this story is not doing that. Just like with Traci (or Marcie on OLTL), the end result will most likely be that Colleen (and other girls) should be happy the way they are. Just like on Ugly Betty, a series centered around a girl who thinks she's ugly, but realizes she's fine the way she is. I'd say this story will do a lot of good for girls unhappy about their bodies.

But I should make it clear that there is a difference between unrealistic expectations (as the modelling industry supports), but obesity is still as big a problem as anorexia and shouldn't be taken lightly either.
