A sad day in Salem

Well, today was Jason's last day at work. I was so sad. I got the privelege of working opposite him for his last scene of a 7 year stint. As they counted down, I looked over at him only to wipe a single tear from his eye. It was a touching moment and a fond memory I will always carry. He made a beautiful, heartfelt speech followed by passing out personalized t-shirts to the cast and crew. I will truly miss him, but I try to think of it as him graduating onto bigger and better things. I think we've only seen the beginning of Jason Cook. Now, I am dreading the next two departures from my "quad". The show is truly changing shape, as well as many faces.

I spent a little time with the new "Shawn" this weekend. He is a wonderful guy and a great addition to the cast. I think he will be a perfect fit with the current cast. However, he has his work cut out for him, and he has tremendous shoes to fill. I assured him (from my own experience) that he is walking into the warmest possible group of people and the most dedicated group of daytime fans. He is so excited! I hope you all will give him a warm welcome.

Thank you all for your wedding advice. I visit the "Martha's Wedding" thread often, and I am enjoying all the advice. It's very helpful. I still don't have a date or a venue yet, but we're working on it.

Wow so much info..Jason Cook exits first...and they already have a new shawn...Haven't checked the spoiler page yet, so i'm wondering if its the hottie we had a thread about...

Its so nice of Martha to speak so fondly of JC...she truely is a class act..and i'm sure JC will be missed greatly by the cast, as he did basically grow up on the show during the past 7 years..

I wonder when Farah and Kyle exit..I'm so intrigued whats going to happen with this quad/storyline...

Jason's last day at work. I figured I'd probably cry but I had no idea I would be hyperventilating as soon as I walked on stage for his "goodbye speech". I was a MESS. After 7 years of working with "Cookie" and quite closely over the last year and a half, I have grown ridiculously attached to him. He's just the sweetest guy and we've had way too much fun creating "Shimi" and making the most of our scenes. (Even when they're written horribly.) Jason has made me laugh everyday and I thank him for that. We'll be friends for life. The new "Shawn" has HUGE shoes to fill. I don't know how much longer I'll be on the show but I will do my best for the fan's sake to help keep this storyline as interesting as possible even without our beloved Jason.

September is going to be big for Days.

Missy and Matt are leaving, Jason is leaving and enter nuShawn, and we will soon be seeing Hogan's stuff. Lots of changes.

I wonder when are Farah and Kyle last day. I guess the secret still isn't out.

You can really tell the different attitudes between Martha and Farah. Martha seems more welcoming to the new Shawn than Farah is. I truly hope Farah won't deliberately suck even more than she does when the new guy debuts. Because if he sucks too, that's really going to be bad.

Although I don't know how bad it could get, because Jason wasn't that great either. However, he may do a fine job someplace else. We don't know. JER's writing really never let the actors shine. Then again, a good actor can make dreck believable. Time will tell.

Well, I am happy as this means he will be gone soon. I just hope they guy we think is the nuShawn really is.

What a difference though between Martha and Farah. The writing comment from Farah was funny but other then that she came off a little...I don't know. Usually I like her comments because she is blunt and honest but she almost sounded a bit bitter that Jason was leaving. It almost came off as her saying the nuShawn will suck and she will have to carry him while Martha was sad but also excited as she was once in the same boat of replacing someone. Now all we need to know is when Farah and Kyle are done.
