I liked all three, but when Brenda came on she made Ashley her own after Eileen's first run. Eileen's Ashley is great in scenes with Victor, because she has the most history with him. I think Shari's Ashley was more slutty, wasn't she the one who married or slept with Cole Howard?

Brenda's Ashley was the first I saw and I liked her in the role. She was the prettiest of the 3. I couldnt stand her recast, I guess that was Shari. Hated her with Cole and she came off as more of a !@#$%^&*] to me. I love Eileen in the role and glad she returned. Ashley ranks up there as one of my favorites on the show

I agree, Eileen is the only Ashley. Eileen is one of daytimes most exotic beauties and the other two couldn't touch her. I wasn't impressed with BE and SS was so repulsive and disgusting. I will never forget her kissing Cole like a thirsty dog lapping at a dish of water. I was so glad that Eileen came back and rescued the character. Too bad Jack Smith had to ruin Eileen's Ashley by turning her into the sperm witch. It is really hard to sympathize with her character after that one.

Kay Aldon is the one who had the sperm fiasco going on. The highlight of the whole sperm fiasco was Ms. Alex Donnelley(the REAL Diane Jenkins), still remember the scene where she went into the lab claiming she was Mrs. Victor Newman. AD rocked, what is she up to now? Epperson was great as Ashley, she made the character warm and caring. Shari was just awful, TOTAL mis-cast there. Eileen is my favourite but if she ever left I wouldn't mind seeing Brenda return. I think when ED returned in one scene her head was turned (played by BE) and the next day hen she turned around it was ED's Ashley back.

You may have that flip-flopped there because Brenda came after Eileen, and Eileen came back after Shari. I could see them doing that going from Eileen to Brenda though, since many thought there was a strong resemblance (personally, I think Epperson is far more attractive) Eileen owns Ashley. Totally owns her, period. Knows the character inside & out. That said, call me crazy, but I still prefer Brenda Epperson's Ashley to Davidson's. Epperson was spunky, warm, and smart in her portrayal. When she played the part, Ashley was my favorite character on the show, bar none. I loved watching her go toe to toe with MTS's Nikki & Heather Tom's Victoria. She also had the most amazing chemistry with Don Diamont. Whenever Brad & Ashley were in a room together during her tenure, sparks flew. Probably why I was disappointed when Brashley was finally re-visited (**note- Brad & Ashley never came to fruition with Epperson/Diamont in the roles- the characters were instead pawned off on Lauren & Blade). Shari Sattuck was BY FAR the worst Ashley. I wouldn't necessarily say she was miscast but I never warmed to her Ashley and she made my favorite Y&R heroine one of my least faves. Davidson returned not a moment too soon. At least the character acts like herself again. But not a day goes by that I don't miss Epperson in the part and still wish she'd come back. Hell, if the tradeoff of Davidson going to DAYS is that we get Epperson back in the part, I'm all for it.

Eileen is the definitive Ashley, but Brenda Epperson was my favorite in the role. She was so pretty and sweet in the role.

I adored her chemistry with Brad; I was a total Brad and Ashley (Brenda) shipper. I think I stopped watching the show around the time their other romantic relationships started.

Why did Brenda leave the show?

I never got to see Brenda as Ashley, when I was little Eileen was on and all I remember from that time was the theme music.

I started really watching Y&R in 96, and it must have been right after Brenda left; so Shari and Eileen are the only ones I can comment on. Eileen's portrayal of Ashley is light years better the way Shari played her. Shari's version of Ashley was terrible, the only time I could kind of tolerate her was when Leigh McCloskey was on the show playing a guy named Kurt Costner.

My Mom and I have always watched Y&R together, and when Shari was on my Mom commented on how bad she was. My Mom gave her the nickname Fish Lips, because of the way she kissed on the show.

Eileen's portrayal of Ashley is my favorite.

Brenda Esperson was the best Ashely IMO. She was headstrong but brought so much vulnerability to the role. She made the Nikki/Victor/Ashley triangle much more complex because of it. Eileen's is not as soft, and she can get irritating really fast.

Brenda was my favorite but I think Eileen's is the definitive. When you think of Ashely Abbott, most people picture her.
