 OMG I am dying. I just can't. I (almost) want to see this now! I do too! There is something sort of comforting and cozy about it and I don't necessarily want it gone forever. But, at the same time, it's just so damn ugly, it doesn't help that everyone is always there (especially since, like Mitch mentioned, it felt really surreal for some of the characters to be in it--so out of place) and, if I'm getting tired of it with so many episodes not available, I can't even imagine on a day-in, day-out basis....

Making my way through the November 1979 episodes. I'm not sure if this is still the Dobsons or Marland, but I am enjoying the show, despite its slow paced sleepiness. Whoever plays Ed Bauer is amazing (he gave a great reaction to hearing that Rita had an affair) and there is no denying how fabulous Rita is. Hope is one of the few characters my mother remembers from watching the show back in the 70s and I was so interested in seeing her. Whatever it is that's happening between her and Alan, I love it! There is this plot with a lady planning to poison her lodger with wine and I can't stop laughing. It's so weird but interesting too. Holly's cell is so unbelievable and unrealistic but I just love how the ghost of Roger and his actions (or 'that thing' as Holly puts it) lingers on and on and on.

Thanks! I think I agree that they could have found another way and a different setting to connect the Snyders to the rest that didn't involve quite such an ugly kitchen lol That could very well explain why he seemed to be in such a rush to deal with all of that. You might be right because I find it hard to believe he would actually plan all that incest/not incest/relatives/not relatives stuff from the very beginning. It does seem they probably wanted to do it but not make a huge deal out of it; still, pretty heavy stuff to just throw out there and move on so quickly.

The Snyders without the farm? I don't know if the Snyders or Marland would have been able to handle that! You are right -- as far as I can tell, they have been woven into the existing canvas pretty well (which is what you're supposed to do) but I'm sad to hear that stops being the case later on. Thinking about it, they've been around for what? Not even a year? And they have SO much story (not to mention there are SO many of them). If Marland wasn't such a great writer, I don't know how horrible this would all come off. I do wonder how people felt about them then.

The pace of the show sometimes stuns me. Not only does Iva tell Emma she was raped by cousin Josh and he was the father of her baby and then learns he's not her blood relative but, in the same scene, she learns that she was adopted and in the same scene Holden overhears, clearing the way for him to be with Lily. That's a lot of incest-removal for five minutes. It does seem a bit of an overkill how everyone has been adopted/not a relative and I would have expected Holden to be tormented a bit more but there is some lovely acting and you sort of just... go along with it.

RHBH Between Lisa & Max and Eileen talking about losing two sisters, there were a LOT of tears on this week's episode for me. Lisa broke my heart. I think it was sweet of Eileen to try to bring Kim & Kyle back together, and I think she had the best of intentions/motivations, but I wish she hadn't gotten herself involved with that. Because, like I feared, they soon would turn against her... and Kim did. It's just a situation she shouldn't be put in. Yes. Yes. YES. #FLAWLESS. God. Thank you, DF, for this pure brilliance.
